Watts gets credit for JYD, DiBiase, Duggan, Steve Williams, One Man Gang, and Butch Reed, but I don't feel I can give him Jake. Here is the ever dependable Jake Roberts himself on the matter: Yes, the feud with Slater and he held the NA title, but you know a masked bloke called The Nightmare also held that. Jake in Watts land seems distinctly Mid-Card-y to me and certainly was nowhere near as over as he was in WWF. Come on. For Jake, your criteria states if someone gets put into main events, they are counted there. Jake counts for Mid South. Benoit got the title and main evented two ppvs vs Sid and vs Bret. How does WCW not get credit for that? How does Vince get credit for that?

Jake Roberts was discovered by Bill Watts then.

Can you define what you mean by making stars. If you can add Jake Roberts to that list, then guys like Raven, Rey, Eddie, Benoit, Jericho, Malenko, The Giant, Booker T, Scott Steiner all get credit too.

Also LA was kind of dead and when the WWF run there in 88 did it even do really well? How was Verne going to do well there in 84?

Sabu = Greatest things ever, the icon of ECW. Crowd ate it up. Then. "Oh, fuck Sabu because he's not showing up !". And the crowd ate it up. Then. Sabu's back, handshake, he's the greatest thing ever. And the crowd ate it up. All this is reflected in a very fair rating of 6. Heyman is arguably the best in this area of anyone in history. If he is a six, then nobody could be an 8 or higher.

Your most "Against The Grain" opinion on wrestling
Apparently thinking the WWE could be headlining ppvs or WrestleMania's with women if they actually tried. The talent is there with Bayley, Sasha, Charlotte, Becky, and Asuka that it could be done.

It's a mixture of things, but there is no way Heyman is a 10 in that category. A 10 is Vince Sr faced with the hottest wrestler on the planet in 1978, who'd sold out MSG a ton of times, in Billy Graham and refusing to turn him face and giving the belt to Backlund REGARDLESS. AND still getting Backlund over, selling out MSG, etc. It's Baba faced with Kenta Kobashi in 1992-3 and saying to both him and the crowd, "no kid, you have to wait your turn. And I'm going to make you wait". And the fans essentially accepting that their will was overturned. Your bias is showing... Taz as the baddest mother fucker on the planet. RVD as the world's greatest wrestler. Dreamer as a big time hero. Public Enemy as a great tag team. Heyman owned that crowd. I think as much as he owned the crowd, the crowd owned him. In a way that simply isn't true for Baba or Sr. Give me some examples of Heyman really defying his crowds and still getting over with it. Bringing in Sid and having him be the most over guy in the company. If anybody in ECW should had failed it was Sid.
