Greatest Wrestler Ever: THE LIST!
100 - Daisuke Ikeda 2006 Ranking: honourable mention (245) Points: 2251 #1 Votes: 0 #2 Votes: 0 #3 Votes: 0 Top 10 Votes: 0 # of Ballots: 45 Average Vote: 50.98 High Vote: 11 (Microstatistics) Low Vote: 99 Discussion Thread "The guy's longevity is quite incredible. We're not talking about a guy here who has a long career where he is looking really solid till the end. But rather a guy who has really great matches and MOTYCs in almost every year where he makes tape, up until the very end. The guys versatility is underrated. Sure he is a beast and that's his selling point, but especially during the early BattlARTS months where other guys were still adjusting he was clearly leading and holding things together, along with Ishikawa. He has the epic big matches, the blood feud with Ishikawa aswell as very good sub 10 minute matches to pad out his resume." Jetleg Recommended Matches: Daisuke Ikeda vs Yuki Ishikawa (BattlARTS, 8/29/1998) Daisuke Ikeda vs Tamon Honda (NAOH, 1/9/2001) Daisuke Ikeda vs Yuki Ishikawa (Futen, 4/24/2005)

Self-contained Chris Benoit and GWE Talk
First, that Colon stuff is all just rumours and was mostly spread by Brody friends. Is it true, maybe? However no proof of it. For all we know Brody could had been killed in self defense or in an actual murder. We don't know. For Benoit. It's sad to see how misunderstood mental illness really is. Looking at him and going "MURDERER" is really not the reaction you should have. 5 years ago I would had been on board, however we are learning a lot more about mental illness know or atleast it's becoming something that people talk about. Benoit had mental issues, probably his whole life, he dealt with depression and also dealt with an incredibly damaged brain. Yes he murdered his wife and child and then committed suicide, but it's not like he's some cold blooded killer. The guy was severely diseased. It's really a tragic and sad situation. The reason I have trouble watching him is that his style directly lead to his damaged brain which lead to him doing a horrible crime.

Dropoffs from the 2006 SmarksChoice Top 100
I can recall your thoughts on the others besides Backlund, why do you dislike him? I don't dislike him.

Reactions to the Honorable Mention List, Part 3
Agreed. I didn't vote for him. He was at one time one of my all time favorites, and I met him and got a pic and autograph at Axxess at Mania 19 in Seattle. But now...I can't even watch his matches. They are hard to get through. I'm married and have kids, and I can't imagine someone doing that to their spouse or child. I get his brain was probably mush, but still. So sad. And because of it, he's not on my ballot. Mental illness is really misunderstood. Of course you can't understand it, he probably couldn't mist of his life too. His brain was fucked. I didn't vote for him, because it's hard to watch his matches. Not because of the murder, but because what those matches did to his brain to get him into that state. Benoit is a sad figure.

Dropoffs from the 2006 SmarksChoice Top 100
I didn't vote for Undertaker, but I would vote for him before: Dynamite Kid, Tanahashi, Backlund, Mutoh, Harley, and Angle all of whom made the top 100.

Chad is Dusty a lot better than Taker?

Anytime in 97 till today, when he feels like it.

Dropoffs from the 2006 SmarksChoice Top 100
They are shit, so what? I could list a ton of shit that Flair did around this period too. Parv, I thought we didn't focus on the negatives, just the positives? Taker's case is his big matches, not the fact he could be really shitty if he didn't care.

Dropoffs from the 2006 SmarksChoice Top 100
A blemish on the top 100? If you add the 90's and the Bret and HIAC matches from 97, that's a lot of good stuff. However, if you add in his awesome punches, his aura, the way he carries himself, the way he can make matches feel like a big fight feel, etc... he's a good pick. Heck, I think having Dynamite Kid and Kurt Angle on the list is WAAAY worse.

Dropoffs from the 2006 SmarksChoice Top 100
What do you consider the high end Taker stuff from the 2000's? vs Brock, HIAC would be the best obviously. vs HBK, the first Mania one vs Rey at RR2010 vs Punk at WM vs Brock, HIAC from last year those are the best and that is quite a good resume of best stuff However, there is lots of really good matches underneath that. The Flair WM match, the Jeff Hardy matches, the Cena matches, the Kurt Angle match from No Way Out, and a lot more that I can't think of off the top of my head.

Dropoffs from the 2006 SmarksChoice Top 100
Fucking hell everybody! Yes Taker's career has a LOT of shit. Also it has a LOT of really high end stuff. Some of the best matches of the 2000's all involve Taker. If you can't see why people would vote for him, then you are fooling yourself.

You guys are cutting Taker way short

Who are the Top 10 CHOPPERS of all time?
And yet you still hate on Dory who throws such a fucking swank one. To be fair my Dory viewing is limited and he was next on my list to watch after WoS and Shoot Stye and Little Tokyo for GWE.

Who are the Top 10 CHOPPERS of all time?
I don't really like chop wrestlers, never have. I make exceptions for Indians like Wahoo. Big Show's is great though, because he does like two and it destroys everyone. Much prefer European uppercuts, punches and kicks.

Reactions to the Honorable Mention List, Part 3
I ranked Flair, Parv ranked Low Ki. A lot of us tried to be objective and had to hold our noses to make these lists.

WTF? Andre is freaking awesome and totally belongs. How can you make an argument for Triple H over Andre?

Top 100 (Predictions, regrets, how many fallen soldiers do you have?, etc..)
Who will be #100?

Reactions to the Honorable Mention List, Part 3
Like John Cena's you mean ? Yep, but Cena has a longer peak and way more great performances.

Top 100 (Predictions, regrets, how many fallen soldiers do you have?, etc..)
Come on, this list will have Dusty and LA Park. It's better than the 2006 one!

Top 100 (Predictions, regrets, how many fallen soldiers do you have?, etc..)
We are down to the top 100, reveals start on Apirl 18th. I have lost 28 great soldiers and I am sad to see them go. Seeing Waltman not make the top 100 was pretty sad. I really wanted him to make it, to dispel that myth of X-Pac heat. Carlos Colon was the other sad one to see go, but he did so well compared to 2006. Any predictions? Any thoughts going into the top 100?
