Greatest Wrestler Ever: The Honourable Mention List
146 - Shinobu Kandori 2006 Ranking: honourable mention Points: 1118 # of Ballots: 29 Average Vote: 62.45 High Vote: 9 (Scarlet-Left) Low Vote: 99 "My top rated women's wrestler, despite everything, she's connected with me greatly throughout her career in different environments. This doesn't count for much but as someone who generally dislikes intergender wrestling she's one of the few women that's ever made it work for me. To the point where I wish she'd come in and beat up Kazuchika Okada for ripping off one of her iconic looks but I digress." Dylan Harris "Has started to become more and more appreciated lately. I am also thinking more and more highly of her work myself." stunning_grover Recommended Match: Shinobu Kandori vs Akira Hokuto (AJW, 4/2/93)

So glad Sabu made the top 150. Didn't vote for him, but he was a very late cut. He deserves it.

Reactions to the Honorable Mention List, Part 3
It's boring as shit when people make these kind of posts that defend one sentence posts that shit on a wrestler instead of encouraging further critical evaluation, even if it is just a way of paraphrasing why someone finds a wrestler boring as shit. It's a message board for crying out loud. Discussion is the whole point of it. And let's not pretend this would be the general (maybe it would still be yours) tone if we were discussing a worker the PWO hivemind (which the results have amusingly enough transcended so far) deemed great. Johnny thinks the WWE haven't put a foot wrong since the Montreal screw job. That's not even remotely true, dum dum. last thumbs down or in the middle WWE show?

Reactions to the Honorable Mention List, Part 3
I didn't call you out mate. I asked you to defend your position because I was interested in it. And the supposed "calling you out" would have happened after you replied twice to me. Come on. And also saying I think wrestler x has more worth than two others is completely different than saying something specific about one wrestler in particular. To Jimmy: Sure, if he doesn't want to go further than that no one's going to force him to. But he hasn't even replied yet and you're already defending that hypothetical scenario. I'd say it's in our interest as a community to get people to go further than that as often as possible. Sorry, not going to watch Inoki to actually come out with evidence. No desire to ever watch Inoki again.

Reactions to the Honorable Mention List, Part 3
By the way, someone calling me out for calling Inoki boring, because it doesn't lead to discussion is hilarious when the person just made a one sentence statement about how they will freak out if Inoki is below Okada and Triple H.

Reactions to the Honorable Mention List, Part 3
Why? All three of those stink.First off, I completely disagree with Inoki sucking. Maybe he had off nights but I didn't watch every single match from New Japan that made tape in the 80s like some did for the DVDVR set. Did you? I think he had great matches and I am insanely high on his best stuff. I find his philosophy to be a lot more interesting and exciting than Baba's, he played a major part in establishing the wrestling I love and has continued promoting it almost tk this day. I even love all of his bullshit like holding shows in North Korea and having hundreds of people line up so he can slap them. In hindsight I regret not giving him the spot I gave to Gotch. Stinks is harsh. He's boring and ruins a lot of good situations. He does have some good highs though. He's actually very very similar to Triple H.Why is he boring to you? He isn't boring to me. I remember Daniel of p.tv describing IGF as "sometimes awesome, sometimes terrible but never boring". Only problem with comparing that to Inoki's career is that I haven't seen any of the terrible yet. What good situations did he ruin? Tags with him in it always benefit for having his star presence and incredible crowd heat. He doesn't do anything exciting. Those Backlund draws were hard to watch. The only time I have ever enjoyed him is when Hansen or Andre are beating him up.
