  1. I have the main events planned out for the Maple Leaf Gardens shows for the rest of the year, plus the main ideas planned out till July 1st. Booking shows comes easy to just hint what is coming and hype future stuff.
  2. I didn't realize how long that main would take until I worked it out.
  3. High on it for an Angle match
  4. Exactly. 90 is alright, but 88 is a great ass match that everybody should watch. The announcers miss sooo much, as does the camera man, but there is a lot of depth if you watch closely. Thank you. It was weeks of re-watch to come up with that.
  5. I just did a project where I watched most of the SummerSlam matches and ranked them myself. Boy is my list different. Sadly your number one didn't make my top forty. 1. 6. You are correct sir, I was going off of notes.
  7. Are you nominating them?
  8. Hockey is going to take a big chunk out of my time too. Luckily Leafs tickets are hard to get, so I can't go to every game, but watching TV is big commitment.
  9. http://placetobenation.com/this-week-in-wrestling-for-august-15-2015/ Pete, Steven and Johnny are back to talk This Week in Wrestling for August 15, 2015! This weeks episode is dedicated to Azurae Schmidt, may she rest in peace. In the first fall (3:28) we talk Stevens NWA Classics match of the week as we look at Little Coco vs Little Tokyo! We run down this weeks NXT TV including an awesome Becky Lynch vs Bayley match and then preview NXT live in Brooklyn the day before SummerSlam. We end the fall with a look at ROH TV and a preview of this weekends EVOLVE shows (47 & 48). The second fall (1:18:43) goes international as we run down the disastrous AAA TripleMania 23 and NJPWs G-1 Climax tournament. We end the show with the third and final fall (1:49:15) looking at the WWE. First we take a look at two WWE Network specials in Table for 3 with Mean Gene, Paul Orndorff and Roddy Piper and then the Brock Lesnar vs Undertaker special. We finish the show breaking down Raw. Our apologies for the sound quality during fall 1 and 3, but we had to record some of the show on location. We will try to limit this going forward.

  16. Maple Leaf Wrestling presents Wrestling Night in Canada August 14, 1983 at ATV Studio in Moncton, New Brunswick The opening video package of Wrestling Night in Canada opens the show featuring clips of: Greg Valentine, Wahoo McDaniel, Stephen Petipas, Jesse Ventura, Ivan Koloff, Leo Burke, Rocky Johnson and ends with a clip of Rick Martel being awarded the NWA Canadian Title. 1. Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy & "Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs "Big" Stephen Petipas & Rocky Johnson After a nice shine sequence by Rocky, we get Petipas in for a long face in peril. Gordy and Flair look great in control. We get the hot tag to Rocky, but at that point "No Class" Bobby Bass and Cuban Assassin drop an envelope on the announce table and run to the ring where Bass distracts the referee and Assassin nails Rocky with the chair which re-opens him up. Gordy picks up the win with the powerslam. Winners - Terry Gordy & Ric Flair @ 14:04 Commercial #1 After the break we go to ringside with Billy Red Lyons and Jesse "The Body" Ventura. They look at the envelope which has Jack Tunney's name on it. It seems to have peso's sticking out of it and a Castro seal on the back. This must be the money to pay the find they incurred a few weeks back. They speculate that they might get another fine and wonder if Castro will be willing to pay their fines again. Ventura hypes asking Alexis Smirnoff difficult questions on The Body Shop tonight. He will find out where the relationship with The Russians and Don Carson is at. Finally the announcers hype the main event of New Japan superstar Riki Choshu taking on Jerry Brisco. We will be right back Dick Murdoch in action. Ventura scoffs at Murdoch. Commercial #2 2. Gary Royal vs "Dirty" Dick Murdoch Murdoch gets the easy win. Ventura spends the match running down Murdoch after his actions last week. He challenged him to take on Mr. Saito next week on television. Winner - Dick Murdoch @ 3:46 Commercial #3 We get a video of Riki Choshu and the rest of Ishi-Gunn being picked up by a limo at the airport. They get into the airport and Jesse Ventura is there with champagne. Jesse starts putting down Canada and through a translator talks about how Team Japan will do what Team USA could not and beat Team Canada! After the video Jesse hypes up the Elimination match taking place at the Halifax Forum on August 15th! Commercial #4 3. Tiny Tom vs Tiger Jackson Tiger Jackson gets a huge win and points to his waist to indicate he is coming for the NWA World Midget's Title! Winner - Tiger Jackson @ 5:54 Commercial #5 It's time for The Body Shop with Jesse Ventura. Ventura has his bodyguard the Masked Samurai watching his back. After a few moments where he hyped up Mr. Saito taking the NWA Canadian Title from Rick Martel at Maple Leaf Gardens on August 30th and Team Japan taking out Team Canada tomorrow night, Jesse brings out his guest Alexis Smirnoff. Smirnoff comes out to a mixed reaction. Ventura asks for Smirnoff's side of the story. Smirnoff talks about being the former NWA Georgia Tag Team Champions together and about how dominant they were. Together they were supposed to come into Toronto and take over Maple Leaf Gardens as the most dominant tag team upon returning from his tour with All Japan Pro-Wrestling. What happened though was when he returned Koloff had brought in Don Carson as his manager and was teaming and champions with the impostor Super Russian. Jesse questions whether he was kept in the dark about all of this. Smirnoff starts yelling about how he hates Carson and that the Super Russian is a fake Russian. He then talks about how he has no issues with Wahoo and invites him out. Jesse brings out Wahoo who looks reluctant. Smirnoff says he wants to destroy The Russians as much as Wahoo does. Smirnoff has heard about Wahoo needing a partner for Maple Leaf Gardens to take on the Super Russian and Koloff for the belts in a cage. He is offering his services. Wahoo says that he has found in a partner in Buzz Tyler, but if Smirnoff wants to be in their corner, he is welcome. Wahoo and Smirnoff shook hands as Jesse closed off the show. Commercial #6 Nick McMan is in the back in the Event Center. He hypes up the Maple Leaf Gardens show on August 30th where Mr. Saito challenges Rick Martel for the NWA Canadian Title, Wahoo McDaniel & Buzz Tyler challenging for the NWA Canadian Titles against the Russians in a cage and The Cubans vs Stephen Petipas & Rocky Johnson in a Toronto Street Fight. He hypes the Team Canada vs Team Japan Elimination match tomorrow night in Halifax, followed by a promo by Team Canada. Next week on TV we will see Andre the Giant wrestling, as well as Rick Martel on The Body Shop. Commercial #7 4. Riki Choshu vs Jerry Brisco Riki Choshu looked like a beast, especially with Jesse really hyping him. Jerry had some nice hope spots, but Choshu won with the scorpion deathlock in the end. Winner - Riki Choshu @ 12:15 Dark Match NWA World Midget Champion Little Tokyo pinned Cowboy Lane @ 9:24 Rick Martel & Tony Garea fought Animal Hamaguchi & Kuniaki Kobayashi to a double DQ @ 15:02 Mr. Saito pinned Ben Bassarab @ 18:21

I will take responsibility to starting the new thread every monday.
  19. I've really missed this show and I am glad it was back. I think you are over hyping Russo, Matt. I am pretty sure any company with Austin and The Rock would had been huge. I tend to think that the WWE got huge despite Russo not because of him.
