That seems about right and is complete and utter bullshit. No other move would freshen up the product then removing the on air authority figure. Put someone in the Jack Tunney role who shows up no more than 5 times a year and it would look like a brand new show.

Wrestle Kingdom 9 Reaction Show w/ Will, Dylan, Pete, Johnny and Johnny P
It's hard for me to be serious because as we all know I hate New Japan I got accused of hating NJPW as well on twitter, even though I proclaimed Naka-Ibushi MOTY already.

But why? Why does wrestling get treated different? That is the part I don't get.

I don't think of movies and music the same . And my general point is, if you can draw money, you're good at being a Pro Wrestler. And there's a lot of factors to drawing money, of course. But if you can get people to pay to watch you then you're a good Professional Wrestler. However, nobody would ever say that if you can make money in music or movies that you are good musician or actor. The fifth biggest movie last year was Transformers is it a good movie? Is Michael Bay a good director?

Nobody is saying that you shouldn't put draws in the main event. The only thing people are saying is that to be good at pro-wrestling does not mean you have to be a draw. Did Daniel Bryan become a better pro-wrestler over the last year or two than he was 3-4 years ago? Maybe, but it would have nothing to do with him becoming a draw.

One Direction and Fast & Furious are clearly better at certain aspects of the music & movie business than other, more critically acclaimed acts. Doesn't mean they're good or bad, but they are succeeding on a pretty important level. Without that, work that doesn't appeal far and wide won't have any platform because the business will dry up. You need a mix, and won't always find both in the same offering. If someone who judges art (movies/films/music, etc..) makes a year end top 10 list, the amount of money the art project made is irrelevant.

I really hate Johnny Sorrow's argument that someone is good if they make money. Is One Direction a great band? Is any movie that makes big box office necessarily better than a movie that doesn't? etc...

General Lucha Set thoughts
I don't go to DVDR, do we have a deadline? If it is 2-3 weeks from now I can get it done and will start watching, if it is earlier I am just not going to bother.

I have been meaning for months to edit those commercials, for my show at least, to keep it relevant. Sports and a podcast making fun of all other podcasts are not cool.

Replace Kane with Sheamus and that is a spoiler for my WWE fantasy booking going on in the Armchair Booking section for Mania.

Ziggler, Ryback, and Rowan looked like impotent morons not immediately beating the living shit out of Trips. They were "fired" so what did they have to lose? Just awful. Exactly! Triple H can do his dance only to be surrounded by those three fired guys and get a oh shit look on his face as they destroy him. Makes the entire thing way better. Instead we get Sting forcing their return somehow.

If it was to bring Triple H to put Rollins into the match for an easy win to get the title? I think that works. I understand him bringing the Authority back as part of his heel turn. If he was turning heel he shouldn't have saved Edge in the aftermath though. Yeah, that makes sense.. unless Edge is in on it.

Gross. Triple threats suck. Cena-Lesnar have had 3 awesome matches and I was excited for the final one. Now they add Rollins who I don't like as a heel into this, which means Triple H interference and this should stink. The ONLY way this is a good idea if they use this to turn Cena heel and steal the title, while Triple H helps Cena win and Rollins goes babyface.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
Interesting. Did it say anything about sleeperholds and checking the arm, because when Russo is booking that is in every match.

Holy shit I had no idea this existed! This is the most exciting podcast news I have heard since I found out the Pro-Wrestling Super Show is doing a Wrestler Snapshot on Mascarita Dorada.

What do you value in wrestling when watching and rating matches?
To really generalize, if a wrestling match has nothing that annoys me (i.e. things make sense) good selling and a hot finishing stretch than I am pretty happy. Ideally, a wrestling match makes sense and builds towards a logically finish. I got to say though, if I really like the finish or finishing sequence I usually rate it higher. During the NJ set that Inoki-Hansen match that ended with a Hansen lariat on the apron for a count out win got rated way higher than it should have, because I loved that finish so much. You are allowed to bore me during the beginning or parts in the middle, but make the last parts count.

Dave Meltzer stuff
On VOW too, they were going on and on about it blowing away last year's and being a potential sell out on the preview show.
