It's a shame they have ruined the IC Title, because Roman sure could use a year as the secondary man with that title ala Warrior, Savage or Bret.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
There is a Wrestling Culture where they talk top 5 gimmicks and Kurt Brown goes into details about a few guys from there. Awesome stuff.

Greatest Upsets In Professional Wrestling?
Bruno-Ivan definitely competes and was probably a bigger deal.

Battlebowl. Some of the matchups were hokey, but I just love the 2 ring battle royale and the "randomly drawn" tag teams Heck, they could do a PPV with both Battlebowl and War Games if they ever got around to the 2 ring gimmick. It seems perfect for the network and playing to WCW nostalgia It's not like they are going out of their way to make these special events special anyway. You could even throw some NXT guys in there and you don't even need the double ring, just a battle royal at the end. How could would it be if the randomly drawn team was something like John Cena & Jey Uso vs Goldust & Sami Zayn? There is a lot of potential for this as a one night special on the network.

Curt Hennig
It might had been some hyperbola, but compared to his other WWF stuff it was great. It was a real upswing in the very least.

Split Topic: Your Pro-Wrestling Journey
Ok, here we go. 34 years old. Starting in 87-88, first because my older sister watched GLOW and after seeing that and finding WWF I was hooked. First major angle I remember was Ron Bass cutting up Brutus Beefcake. HUGE into WWF till the fall of 1993, when we moved into the country and had no cable. In late 95-96 we got a US Satelite and after flipping through the channels saw Sunny and started to pay attention again. In late 96/97 was full insane into it again, this time was different though. Besides WWF, I had come across ECW late night (first saw Sandman-Raven in a barbed wire match) and started watched that on and off too. Also found lucha in the summer, I remember seeing Olimpico and Felino and being into those guys. From there the internet, tape trading and it was all down hill from there. Since then i have watched in one form or the other. I gave up watching Raw every week in about 2002, partially due to no WCW, partially due to the product stinking, and partially do to graduate work. Generally I watch a lot, but ignore Raw until January where I watch through Mania and longer if it is good. Then I usually drop that and only watch major shows and hyped stuff to go along with other viewing. Now I do a podcast, so I can't lapsed on everything like I would in the past.

Greatest Upsets In Professional Wrestling?
He's getting quite the push in NXT.

Curt Hennig
Hennig was great pre-WWF, but I also think he had a great run in 93. From the Bret, Doink to Flair matches he was pretty awesome as a babyface. Sure the Michaels match at SummerSlam sucked, but I wouldn't squarely blame that on Hennig. I think the true problem with Hennig is that he isn't a good heel, but an amazing face in the ring.

Triple H
Then why was that stip put on and it went on last? Triple H certainly has the pull for these things not to happen.Or maybe, just maybe, he wasn't lord and master of the galaxy and had to do what his father in law wanted. Either way it was complete shit, especially for the main event of WrestleMania.

Who is the worst booker ever?
This smacks of revisionist history. MMA didn't mean nearly as much 15 years ago as it does now. Boxing, while on the decline, was still a way bigger deal back then. Whatever charisma and mic skills Shamrock had never really translated to the WWE environment. The thought that he ever would've been a bigger deal than Michaels in that match is just flat out absurd, and that's even if you think HBK was wildly overrated like some people here do. Shamrock was pretty freaking over. That died when he lost to Michaels in a shitty match. MMA had buzz and was huge a few years prior. Tyson had a appeal, look what he did to that main event. Sure, HBK was the bigger star, but if Shamrock made Bret tap for the title and then destroyed everyone up till WM and faced Austin with Tyson as a referee, it would had been a HUGE deal. Drawing Power for WM14 1) Tyson 2) Austin ...... 3) Michaels

<Split> The decline of Vince McMahon
I really thought that with Brock as champion and not on TV, that the number one contenders would be a bigger deal. Also, why shouldn't the IC Title be the main focus of guys? That should be the title used to replace the World Title, while Brock is gone.

Who is the worst booker ever?
Examples? First one that comes to mind is his fire Batista idea. Guy was a jerk backstage and said something Kelly didn't like so Kelly equated that to meaning Batista had no talent and was worthless to the business. Lots of money being left on the table right there. He also said the same thing about Shamrock, and there were many others but they aren't springing to mind right now. Man... they really screwed up Shamrock. Imagine a scenario where Bret taps out to Shamrock for the title. No screwjob and they set up the unstoppable MMA Shamrock dropping the title to Austin at Mania. Maybe Michaels doesn't have a casket match at Rumble that destroys his back, etc... EDIT: I forgot Tyson was the referee. Holy Shit!!!! Mike Tyson (former boxing champion) referees Former MMA champion and current WWF Champion Ken Shamrock vs the toughest man in wrestling, Steve Austin. Money!

All Japan Excite Series #3
So, this is the second podcast that involved me that I actually listened to myself (the Thanksgiving Special was the first). What became clear to me is that we need a wrap up to the show. Whether it be some awards or what have you. We can't rank the main guys every episode. Suggestions? What do you guys want to hear?

Could your favorite wrestling company ever offend you to the point that you..
For a period when they were doing the shitty stuff, yes. I came back to the WWF in 2000, after Russo was gone.

Doing a Rewatch Project
For WWE you have regular MSG, Boston Gardens, Spectrum and Maple Leaf Gardens to look at. The problem is, they often repeat matches move for move from one show to the other. However, sometimes, they were completely different programs.

Who is the worst booker ever?
I feel like slapping myself for defending him but quite a few attitude era guys have given russo credit for helping with their characters. His wcw run was a stain on wrestling but i was a massive ovw fan at the time (use to get the tapes shipped) and greg gagne killed it dead. He helped some characters, but also produced the worst TV in the history of wrestling. Even if you discount WCW, his TNA stuff is hideous. Not to mention that for all the money '99 WWF made, it is unbearable to watch. I still believe most people with that talent would had done better. Greg Gagne killed a small development territory, Russo produced the worst wrestling ever in WCW and TNA and some of the worst ever for the WWF. It's a no contest. If you don't think its Russo, then you need to go re-watch stuff because its almost unbelievably bad. From fake shoots, to him winning the world title, to miscarriages and incest, to VKM to fat oily guy, etc...
