Things Wrestlers Value that we don't
I adore Regal, but has he EVER had a match as good as Savage/Steamboat? Regal-Arn at SuperBrawl and Regal-Finlay at Uncensored are damn close if not there.

There is a Super Show on that one with Will and Johnny that is in the archives. Should be on the PWO-PTBN Network within a few weeks.

Low Blow Booking Podcast - Ep. 4 - Goldberg's Streak w/ Steven Graham!
This was a lot of fun. It's not often I get to rave about my love of Goldberg.

Pro-Wrestling Super Show, Classics
So, with the recent switch to the PWO-PTBN podcast network all the original episodes of the PWSS will be uploaded to the new channel. I've fixed up the sound a little bit. Remember to switch to the proper feed now, as the original feed will disappear soon. First two episodes are now up and there will be another Super Show put up daily in September.

Good Will Wrestling: Wrestling Fans
About half way through and I am enjoying this. Since the Network came out, I started watching every WWE/WCW major show in order and I have finally caught up to Where the Big Boys Play. I'm not going to go ahead of them, so now I have more time to watch other things. What this show did was motivate me to rewatch 90's AJPW. I haven't seen it in years and not all of the major stuff, so this should be a fun re-evaluation.

If not Mr. Fuji, then who?
This is my problem with any worst award in the Observer. Nobody has seen everything, so there is managers out there on the indies that hardly anyone has seen.

PTB SummerSlam Rewind Series - 1989
I have been waiting for this! If there isn't 30 minutes devoted to the fat man trios match, then I riot.

Pro-Wrestling Super Show: Wrestling Rulebook (August 27, 2014) with Charles & Kelly
Click here. One of the most fun episodes we've done on the Super Show. I am joined by Charles and Kelly to dissect the wrestling rule book. We discuss the major rules and what they mean to us. Charles digs up the official Eddie Graham 1983 rule book and we read passages and look at them. Awesome stuff. Check it out.

Pro-Wrestling Super Show: Drafting & Booking Current Talent, Part 1 (August 20, 2014) with Ben Morse, Jordan Duncan & Andrew Riche
Hero was drafted, yeah. Titus I would had picked earlier, but I knew nobody watch Superstars to know he was awesome. Same reason Gulak, Busick and Thatcher weren't involved, because I would be the only one who would had seen them. Same with other guys like Kongo Kong, etc... We kept it to WWE/NXT/ROH/TNA. Glad you enjoyed the show. Next Wednesday is going to be an awesome 3 hour discussion of the rule book with Kelly (of Titans) and Loss.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
CMLL is the best promotion in Mexico (if not the world). There was a lot of great stuff already this year, especially the tournament. So, I would say those are worth it.

Pro-Wrestling Super Show: Drafting & Booking Current Talent, Part 1 (August 20, 2014) with Ben Morse, Jordan Duncan & Andrew Riche
Click here. Maybe the dorkiest episode of the Super Show ever. The idea is stolen (with permission) from Where the Big Boys Play. On this week’s Pro-Wrestling Super Show, Steven Graham is joined by Ben Morse, Jordan Duncan and Andrew Riche (all of the Main Event podcast) to draft out the current North American wrestling talent. There are some wild cards mixed in to make things interesting. All of the current wrestling talent is discussed. Part 2 will be out in a few weeks, where we using our drafted rosters to fantasy book a super show.

The Wrestling Rule Book
Charles (Loss), Kelly (Titans of Wrestling) and myself will be doing an episode of the Pro-Wrestling Super Show taping Friday to discuss the wrestling rule book. What rules bug you? What rules confuse you? I will look at this thread before the show and touch on anything that may come up. For example, what are your guys thoughts on the over the top DQ rule?

Dino Bravo
He was certainly good in his few AWA matches I saw, so the good in Montreal thing doesn't seem like a myth. Although his in ring was lacking in the WWE, I did love his character.

Current WWE
Wasn't the plan all along for a rematch with like Taker or somebody in his corner? Why is anyone surprised?

If Not Roman Reigns, Then Who?
Ambrose could be your Austin, he has that kind of potential.

Do "Standards change" in wrestling?
I totally get what you're saying here and that's been one of the huge issues with this discussion both on this forum and on Twitter, etc. When Joe and I do eventually get Dylan on the podcast, I think this will be an awesome discussion. Execution, absolutely, that has stayed the same. The idea of getting a crowd into the work and into the story of the match has never changed, a lot of what worked in 1950 works today. The inherent difference though is what a lot of people and what you in your post considered "stuff" is night and day. Fans today react to "stuff" that would've be so alien in 1950, they'd probably burn those people are a stake. Someone like Ricochet gets over today on stuff that is unthinkable 50 years ago. There are guys as you mentioned, like a Thatcher, who can stick work a style not unlike one you'd see in 1950 and it works fine but by and large, what most wrestling fans expect from a good match is not what would constitute a good match in 1950. We had a bearhug discussion on Twitter a week or so ago and you mentioned a few guys who made bearhugs work (Henry, Andre). Regardless of guys who really made it work, it was commonplace in wrestling for years (even as I was still growing up). If Rusev came onto Raw tonight and locked Swagger into a bearhug for 10 minutes, he'd be booed out of the arena and the crowd would be chanting CM Punk and other non sen You could argue, it's not being built up properly (which I agree) but the fact that this was commonplace in major wrestling some 20 years ago and now would incite a riot, is evidence that by and large, standards have changed. What makes a good match doesn't change though, just because the high spots change? That's the thing, we are defining standards in a different way. What made a great match in the 70's or 80's is the same as what makes a great match today. Selling, psychology, drama and a great story. That are the standards a lot of us are talking about it. If you define standards as the high spots and moves, then that is a different story. Of course those changed.
