NXT TakeOver Chicago II
Fuck. He called EC3, Mr. 3........ I coudln't handle it.

Dave Meltzer stuff
I'm trying not to rip on Dave as much, but this is the stupidest fucking thing I have ever read. More Dave Meltzer Retweeted Nfinit "30th Anniversary of losing at SF2" Vylence Imagine how they would deal with earthquakes. Nasty tweets all day to the poor seismologists. If average is a 2, how can there be a 7. I don't get it? And if here in New York we've never had a 5, then all you seismologists favor Mexico City because you all like flips.

NXT TakeOver Chicago II
That's a fucking line up. Too bad they couldn't fit Kairi Sane or Bianca Belair on their somewhere. This is going to rule

Rugged means you need the Atrocious Alliance. Dump Matsumoto, Crane Yu, Bull Nakano, and Luna Vachon. Any of those or a team of 3 or 4. Opponents, depends if you want all Japanese or want North Americans. Heck, maybe even a Dump vs Ripper match, so you have Canadian vs Japanese rugged monster vs monster?

Dave Meltzer stuff
I just meant they have a huge slew of women whose whole purpose is to wear almost nothing and dance around as the camera man zooms in on their asses.

FWIW, you probably don't want to use CMLL as an example of how to do a women's divison. Very true or how to treat women in general.

Current New Japan
Can you point to it, because I can't find where he said that. I only see him talking about NJPW itself. I might have missed it.

1983 Project General Chatter Thread
I think the hardest part of this project is knowing I have Akira Hokuto, Bull Nakano, Bison Kimura, etc.. as rookies and can't do anything with them yet....

It's yours. Let me know what type of match you are looking for, GAEA is quite diverse.

Current New Japan
Too bad nobody has made that point. They have about NJPW and their treatment of women, but not Japanese wrestling as a whole. I don't know why I keep seeing this strawman being brought up.

Greatest Match Ever Project
Is having three people believe a match is worth voting on really that much of a hurdle? For example if we go with essentially every match is nominated if one person wants it, the list of matches just balloons up to ridiculous levels. Also, at that point, are we now nominating matches we have no intention of voting for just for the sake of getting more nominations? That's kind of my fear/thoughts. Part of the fun of these projects is the discussion and if we are voting for a match that, theoretically, only one person even mentions once, what is the point? I'm completely open for change, but that is my thoughts.

On second thought, don't really want to have this argument again. My apologies for bringing it up.
-
Current New Japan
I do not buy the argument that the second largest promotion in the world promoting women's wrestling would some how hurt women wrestlers. That's ridiculous. More places for women to work with more exposure is helpful.
-
Current New Japan
If they want to be a global promotion (as it seems they do) they don't look very good not having it. I don't see how deathmatch wrestlers and women are anything similar.

Something for everyone, unless you like women's wrestling.

YES!!!!!!! Have to track that down!

After the WWA World Champion is crowned in late June, women's wrestling will finally have a voice in wrestling in the 1980s. If you want to book the champion or a touring match from GAEA Wrestling, please contact me. Lots of dates available for you to have a legit show stealing match on your under card. Remember in real life, 1986 is the year the WWF brought in the Crush Girls, Dump, Bull, and in 1987 they brought in the Jumping Bomb Angels.

Dave Meltzer stuff
I see people say variations on this a lot on a way to quell other's complaints. However the issue is not Dave's tastes, the issue is having an actual star system that people can use to rate matches, like people do with movies or albums, etc...
-
Dave Meltzer stuff
Wow. At least he resisted the people making the arguments and only went with 7 stars instead of 17.

This is fake right?

Who seeks or understands wrestling this way? If someone is a fan of tag team wrestling and starts looking for Steiners or Road Warriors matches, will they NOT watch the Starrcade match "because it only got 3 stars from Meltzer" or they'll watch it anyway because they were curious enough to find the info they had a match against each other? How is that question relevant? I really don't understand your point. Each person puts their ratings on matches (if they do ratings). Those ratings are a way to compare all the matches they've seen against each other with a quantitative description.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
For what it's worth, after the next 2 weeks of TV air from Orlando, the July TV, Slammiversary and the following TV for August into September will all be from Canada so hopefully they'll have a real lively crowd there. I didn't even both going and it wasn't really a great location or easily accessible without a car.

I just wanted to check a reference point. 7) Omega-Okada 5) Flair-Steamboat 3) Steiners-Road Warriors (Starrcade 89) So is Omega-Okada better than Flair-Steamboat to the same level that Flair-Steamboat is better than Steiners-Road Warriors?

Probably a lot more spry in 86 compared to 92.
