[1997-06-09-WCW-Nitro] Ric Flair & Roddy Piper vs Scott Hall & Kevin Nash
Back then I did not think twice about how dangerous the Sting dropping from the ceiling stunts really were, but knowing what happened with Owen it is almost hard to watch Sting latch DDP and himself to the rope to pull them up.

[1997-06-09-WWF-Raw] Interview: Mankind
According to Foley's first book this interview series was never ment as being part of a face push, which, I guess, is proven by Mankind attacking JR at the end, which seems to be out of line for a baby face turn.

[1997-06-07-USWA-TV] Tommy Dreamer in Memphis
Seeing Dreamer as a heel who destroys a set and attacks non-wrestlers just seems wrong.

[1997-06-03-BJW] Gedo & Jado vs Yoshihiro Taijiri & Yuichi Tanaguchi vs Kengo Kimura & Takashi Ishikawa vs Shoji Nakamaki & Takashi Okano vs Kendo Nagasaki & Satoru Shiga
This was way too chaotic for a match where I only know half of the guys and not knowing who was teaming with whom (except Gedo & Jado, of course). After Gedo & Jado were eliminated I completely zoned out.

[1997-05-26-WCW-Nitro] La Parka & Damien & Ciclope vs Hector Garza & Super Calo & Juventud Guerrera
Yeah, that Caló dive was absolutely crazy. He should have least made sure not to hit any pre-teens kids. The guys in the second and third row seemed absolutely thrilled with being hit by Caló while the kid in the front row looked a bit shook-up.

WON HOF 2013 discussion
At least until a few years ago the official numbers were often complete fantasy numbers and totally unreliable. And the whole "No Vacancy", "Super No Vacancy", "Super No Vacancy Full House" scale is just plain and simply stupid.

[1997-05-19-WWF-Raw] The Undertaker and Paul Bearer
Undertaker using the term "race card" is a proof that WWF wasn't doing everything right at that point, an idea you might get just by watching the Hart Foundation - Austin - HBK stuff.

[1997-05-18-WCW-Slamboree] Ric Flair & Roddy Piper & Kevin Greene vs Scott Hall & Kevin Nash & Syxx
This came out of nowhere. I would have never expected this one to be so good. I think Hall might have been the MVP of this match. He was coming pretty directly from rehab, right? Though if you replaced Kevin Nash by a mannequin the match probably would be exactly the same...

[1997-05-05-WWF-Raw] Steve Austin and The Undertaker brawl
The stuff with Furnas and Kroffat just seems weired. Why did they interfere and brawl with both factions? I guess the idea behind this is was the battle for the tag team title (Owen and Bulldog were champs, LOD were the top contenders), but still...

[1997-05-05-WCW-Nitro] Rey Misterio Jr vs Syxx
It also made Rey look stupid as he did not even bother to think about any backup after what happened a few weeks earlier.

[1997-05-08-IWA-MS] Ricky Morton vs Wolfie D
I was surprised about the VQ and sound quality of this. I did not expected this from a 97 indy show.

Boxer vs. Wrestler in a shoot
The problem with this whole question is that it is like comparing apples with oranges. Boxing is a sport, pro wrestling is a form of entertainment where being athletic is a plus but not a necessity. There are pro wrestlers, who have the skills to beat great boxers, most don't.

[1997-05-03-ECW-TV] Raven and Stevie Richards promo
The way this thing begin I was very close to hitting FF, but when Raven got angry this was actually pretty good for some seconds until it completely fell down a cliff. I could have lived with "end my pain", but "end my life, Stevie" is just too much. It's strange, back in 97 and 98 when Raven joined WCW I thought this was a great character. Either the Raven character is something that resonates very well with 16 year-olds or this was a gimmick that just fit the Zeitgeist.

[1997-04-28-WCW-Nitro] Ric Flair, Roddy Piper and the NWO
This was a great visual though probably hell to clean-up.

[1997-04-21-WWF-Raw] Bret Hart vs Steve Austin (Street Fight)
And it's really obvious: Having the gimmick math rematch of the PPV main event with maybe a cleaner finish than at the PPV is Russo 101. There was also this camera shot from the ambulance front-row, which probably would not have happened a few weeks earlier.

[1997-04-19-APW-Bombers Chance at Revenge] Manny Fernandez vs Robert Thompson
Wasn't the TV show called "Garage Wars" or something like that?
-
[1997-11-09] Wrestling With Shadows
I am not sure if "Wrestling With Shadows" is a great title but it's so much better than the German title of this docu: "Die heimliche Wut des Catchers Hitman Hart", which translates to "The Secret Wrath of the Catcher Hitman Hart".

[1997-04-14-WWF-Raw] Interview: Steve Austin
Wow, they used here the Apartheid flag which had been abolished three years earlier. WWF going with the times as always. "You cannot hold talent down, talent always rises to the top." - funny line to here out of Vince's mouth.

[1997-04-13-ECW-Barely Legal] Stevie Richards vs Terry Funk vs The Sandman / Raven vs Terry Funk
The finish of the first part looked horrible as Funk initially put Sandman completely out of position for the moonsault so Sandman tried to readjust his positioning, something I really hate seeing. Furthermore Funk was not aware of Sandman doing so therefore he tried to readjust his jump as well which resulted in a horrible landing. That Raven vs. Funk part was overbooked and the content did screw up the great build up by Funk a bit. Also Reggie Bennett's powerbomb looked horrible,

[1997-04-13-ECW-Barely Legal] Taka Michinoku & Mens Teioh & Dick Togo vs Great Sasuke & Gran Hamada & Masato Yakushiji
That ring was very bouncy. It also was strange to see these six to completely screw up a spot: TAKA and Teioh tried to double armdrag Sasuke into Togo's arms for a powerbomb (which, I guess, Sasuke was supposed to counter with a hurrancanrana) which completely failed. They tried to redo the spot and even that didn't look very good.

[1997-04-12-NJPW] Shinya Hashimoto vs Naoya Ogawa
It's funny hearing the announcer shout "ippon, soremade" (Judo call indicating an instantaneous end of a fight) when Hashimoto gets in a nice Judo throw on Ogawa.

[1997-10-10-Michinoku Pro] Taka Michinoku vs Great Sasuke
Would make sense as Taker was working this show. Probably TAKA thought it was a good idea to make a good impression on him.

[1997-10-06-WWF-Raw] Interview: Melanie Pillman
This did "win" the WON award for most disgusting promotional tactic.
