90s Addendum Recommendations
2000-2004, yes. This is good news for me, as 2002-2004 are my own Lost Years with regards to wrestling. Any particular reason you aren't doing 2005 or after?

Does anyone recall exactly what promo it was in the Stud Stable feud where Dusty calls Arn Anderson "what they call a walk-behinder"? Was it the classic "I neglected ya!" promo or a different one from the feud? I'm a bit fuzzy, it's been some time since I watched the feud.

Wrestling Culture Episode 52
Finally getting caught up on this, you were 100% correct about Mark Scarpa being the guy with the breakdancing gimmick, he was Vincent Young in WCW and did jobs after that in WWF as Mark Young. Didn't know about Private Pyle but I can completely see that, good call on the Dave Meltzer lookalike. Edit : Updating as I listen, the Headhunters were scheduled to be in the NWA Tag Title tournament but it ended up falling through, in the end they sent out Bob Cook and Arn Anderson under masks as the Headhunters.

Booking Ivan Koloff to two World Titles in 1983

In 94? Maybe in 91, but I think by 94 he had proven himself on his own merits. That's how it was with me and at least the few other hardcore fans I knew personally.

Quotable Wrestling
If we can include ones from shoot interviews, Bobby Heenan's response when asked what he would have done if he ran WCW : Put them all in a room together and rolled a grenade through the door.

Wrestling With The Past #7
Back on track, awesome podcast. What do you figure is the final verdict on Michaels : significant flaws but still great wrestler, or wrestler with great matches whose shortcomings take him out of the great status? Seemed to be heading towards the second category.

Wrestling With The Past #7
Sorry, for some reason I thought he had a mask but I was pretty sure it was Diamond. I seem to remember that they had been partners way in the past, before Badd Company and the Midnight Rockers. I always was a bit of a Paul Diamond mark.

Wrestling With The Past #7
The "guy named Venom" with whom Michaels had the one off comeback match was actually Paul Diamond under a mask.

Barry Windham
That was always my assumption with that, they straight swapped out Koloff with Simmons because there was more storyline juice. I know Simmons was nursing a hand injury after his Halloween Havoc match with Luger (that was the reason given for him being out of Starrcade) but he was back in the mix and a part of several matches with the DA up until Clash 18. After that, he was in one more match with the DA but seemed to spend his time fighting with Cactus Jack and his pals, including that odd tag match at Wrestle War with him and JYD against Cactus Jack and Mr. Hughes that ended up being a singles match with Simmons and Hughes. Add in his out-of-nowhere US tag title reign with Big Josh and that was what Simmons was up to until they brought him back into the spotlight with the World Title win, by which point Watts was de-emphasizing the Dangerous Alliance.

I just bought my first 3 comps from Will, including the Windham set. I'm currently working through the Dangerous Alliance stuff, but reading this thread has me very excited to get into the Windham stuff, who was one of my favorite all-time workers for sure. Did anyone every do a better, smoother superplex?!?!? One of the reasons I loved his short lived tag team with Ron Simmons, they had the two smoothest "finisher to pin" transiitions in wrestling. When did they team? I assume it was 91-92 during the Sting's Buddies vs. Dangerous Alliance run, but I have no real recollection of that. Arn Anderson & Larry Zbyszko vs. Barry Windham & Ron Simmons (Pro 11/9/91) Barry Windham & Ron Simmons vs. Jake the Snake & Barbarian (Sat. Night 9/26/92) Pretty sure they had a couple of fun squash matches as well. They weren't a long term or particularly regular tag team but I always loved them when they did team up.

Wrestlers' opinions of each other
"Lou Thesz once said that he would put Hulk Hogan's wrestling ability on a scale of 10 somewhere between 0 and 1. I'd put Lawler between 0 and Hogan." - Harley Race

Favourite submissions holds
Not really a particularly fancy Lucha submission, but I have been watching a lot of El Hijo Del Santo and am loving his Camel Clutch, especially in the late 80s, he really seemed to be warping the other guy's back with it.

So, 64 years = 64 discs?

Bob Backlund
Thanks a lot Ricky, I will check it out, both the show and the match (haven't watched it in some time).

Bob Backlund
Was that 7/30/1979? That's the one on the gh Backlund comp.

Best Three Consecutive PPVs?
When I saw this thread but before I opened it up, these were the 3 that came to mind.

The ass-kickingest matches ever
Lioness Asuka vs. Yumiko Hotta (AJW 3/26/95) Dubbed a UFC Rules Match, just insanely brutal.

PWO Critics Guild Hall of Fame
I've long said that the Rob Vincent (my name) Pro Wrestling Hall Of Fame has at its entrance statues on either side of Dick Murdoch and Barry Windham, looking like before and after photos.
