Why is it I get the feeling the 1989 set will be 60 discs? Just an epic year all round.

2002 Recommendations
Gotta say, I am particularly looking forward to the 2002-2004 period for the yearbooks ... they might well have been the wrestling dark ages, but they are something of a lost era for me, as due to employment issues I was not buying any tapes/DVDs.

And rightfully so, Mike Furnas was dreadful.

Best Black Wrestler ever
More likely Springer, it's not like you can imagine Russo getting ideas from watching a wrestling show.

Best Black Wrestler ever
I do recall when he was on Off The Record, the host referred to him as the first black WWF (at the time) champion, Rock replied he preferred to be referred to as the first WWE champion "of colour" , as calling him black was ignoring his Samoan heritage.

Actually, by that definition, Rock is Canadian.

What are the odds of the Nikita Koloff vs Mr. Hughes miracle match mentioned on the latest Good Will Wrestling podcast making the set? Or is it too B-Sides?

I definitely recommend the Shawn Michaels promo from the royal Rumble itself, this was the moment that really sold me on the Shawn Michaels character.

Just watches a match from the same period with Valentine, Slater and the Barbarian going over Dustin Rhodes, Barry Windham and Ricky Steamboat, which kind of falls in with the same philosophy. Side note : the commentary on a match from this period reminded me, around the same time they were pitching Eaton and Anderson going against Williams and Gordy for the belts, which is why Eaton and Anderson brought in Michael Hayes as advisor. Does anyone know if this ever happened, even in house shows? I am pretty sure that the MVC dropped the belts not long after.

In what sense? Not a dig, just think it is an intriguing statement and would be interested in more detail.

Glad to see this suggested, I hadn't seen it since it happened but loved it at the time. There was also a great match around the same time from Shinzaki and Hayabusa against Misawa and Akiyama that made it onto a Schneider Comp, 11/27/97, it would be great if both could make it.

If this is the one from 3/15 then yeah, I agree. I recall Jannetty hitting a tombstone that looked completely nuts. Is that the one on Vol 8 of Bix's Why I Love Pro Wrestling comp?

[1996-01-05-ECW-House Party] Sabu vs Stevie Richards
I always figured it as him trying to be like Raven, but being such a clueless putz he gets everything wrong. Raven has his leather jacket and punk/grunge/alternative T-shirts, while Stevie has his cut off shorts and 80's hair metal tees.

[1996-01-23-WCW-Clash of the Champions XXXII] Brian Pillman vs Eddy Guerrero
I gather from an interview with Heenan that his neck was in very bad shape from the years of injuries, and that was what led to his freak out when Pillman grabbed him. Historical perspective : at the time there were some rumours afloat that Heenan was looking to jump back to the WWF, so when this happened it added fuel to the fire that he was deliberately trying to get himself fired.
