Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Selland Arena, Fresno, February 12th The Cheetah Kid vs. Reno Riggins The masked man bounced back from his earlier loss by pinning Riggins following a Power Bomb The Golden Guns (Todd Morton & Jerry Lynn) vs. The Holly Cousins These two teams had an incredibly fast paced match that went to the Guns when Lynn hit a Package Piledriver on Bob Holly Steve Armstrong vs. Curtis Hughes Mr. Hughes was clearly angry at his being pinned by Vic Steamboat last week, and took it out on poor Steve, pinning him with the Cat's Claw (modified side slam onto the knee). Owen Hart vs. Jim Neidhart A titanic battle between former comrades that went to the Anvil when he caught Owen attempting a running cross body and reversed it into a power slam. The Midnight Express & Vic Steamboat vs. The Destruction Crew & Bull Pain As can be imagined, a crazy match that threatened to spin out of control at several instances. During a 6 man melee, the Express were able to hit a Flapjack on Bloom and hold off his partners for the one two three, scoring the first pinfall on a member of the Destruction Crew. Pierre Carl Ouellet vs. Angel Acevedo Ouellet faced another tough customer in the Cuban Assassin, this coming out on top after hitting a flying senton. Submission Title Match : Bob Backlund © vs. Steven Regal Young Regal gave a credible challenge, coming close on several occasions in locking Backlund in the Regal Stretch before ultimately being forced to tap out to the Cross Face Chicken Wing California Title Match : Scott Hall © vs. Maxx Payne Hall did everything he could to hold off big Maxx Payne , but the match went to a DQ when he was attacked by the Hollywood Vampires. Dustin Rhodes and Brian Lee rushed out to even the sides, forcing the Neighborhood Of Evil to beat a hasty retreat.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Cow Palace , San Francisco, on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN, February 11th The Golden Guns (Todd Morton & Jerry Lynn) vs. Joe & Dean Malenko A fast paced tag match that went to the Malenkos when Dean pinned Todd after a Brainbuster Tracy Smothers vs. Gary Albright Smothers did his best but was overwhelmed by the huge Animal, who forced him to submit to the Dragon Sleeper Brian Christopher vs. Cyrus The Virus Christopher had Jim Cornette in his corner while Cyrus had Cactus Jack, but both men kept the action in the ring for a tightly contested battle that went to a 15 minute time limit draw. Buddy Rose vs. The Eagle A wild match that wound going to a no contest when the Sin City Superstars and the Patriot got involved. Golden State Tag Team Title Match : British Steel (Steven Regal & Robbie Brookside) © vs. Art Barr & Eddie Guerrero A long and intense match where it seemed on several occasions that the Wild Things might take the titles. It wound up coming down to a battle of rollups between Guerrero and Brookside, with Brookside coming out on top for the one two three. Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Curt Hennig © vs. "Diamond" Timothy Flowers Hennig had his hands full with the always dangerous leader of the Diamond Exchange, who showed why he was a contender for any title he set his sights on. After a close battle, Hennig countered out of an attempted Piledriver with a slingshot into the corner, then followed up with the Hennig-Plex to successfully defend his title.

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Oakland Alameda County Arena, Oakland, on ESPN / TSN, February 10th Vic Steamboat vs. Jonathan Libby After last week, it was no surprise that "The Demon" Vic Steamboat came out accompanied by Jim Cornette, although it was still an odd sight to see. Steamboat continued to distinguish himself from his brother with both his red and black gear and an intensity bordering on ferocity. One had to wonder what sort of influence Cornette had on Steamboat as "The Demon" tore into Libby, blistering him with chops and tossing him around the ring with backdrops before finishing him with the Flying Cross Body Press. Steamboat is clearly looking to make his own name now in PCW, and with the Louisville Lip guiding him, who can deny him? Pierre Carl Ouellet vs. Buzz Sawyer Sawyer has been cutting through the opposition like a proverbial buzzsaw , with his sights now set on Owen Hart as his next victim. But Pierre Carl Ouellet was not someone to look past, and Sawyer was caught off guard by how much of a fight he got from the double tough French Canadian. These two threw down and were both battered and bruised by the end of the match. Sawyer still was able to pull it out by catching Ouellet off the ropes with a powerslam, but after the mauling he took, he is not likely to take him so lightly again. Interview : Don Coss stands in the ring Coss : Ladies and gentlemen, my next guest is one of the most impressive young guns to recently make their debut in Pacific Coast Wrestling … "Bulldozer" Brian Lee! The crowd cheers as the popular "Bulldozer" heads out to the ring, shaking hands with the fans along the way. Coss : Brian Lee, you have gained a lot of fans in your short time in Pacific Coast Wrestling. But when you interfered in the Vampire Warrior's attack on Dustin Rhodes, you may have made some enemies as well. Do you regret stepping into the middle of the war between the Brigade and the Neighborhood Of Evil. Lee : Not for a danged minute, Don. I am not going to just stand by when anyone tries to gang up on one wrestler. But I have personal reasons as well . You see … Lee is cut off as a commotion stirs up from the back. The members of the Brigade make an unannounced appearance, and as Curt Hennig, Scott Hall , Lou Perez and Dustin Rhodes join Coss and Lee in the ring, they have looks of concern on their faces. Hennig : Brian, we are so sorry to interrupt but we just had to come out. First off , we wanted to thank you for coming out to help Dustin. It was mighty honorable thing you did. But we also have to ask you to help us out again. The Brigade has a six man tag match coming up at Aloha Spectacular against the Undertaker and the Vampire Warriors. But Scott and I both have title defenses and Dustin and Lou need someone to be their partner. I know it is a lot to ask, but would you be their partner? Lee : It's not much to ask and I will be glad to help out. As I was about to say, I have personal reasons to get involved. You see, Red … or the Undertaker as he is now calling himself, is my cousin! (shocked looks from the Brigade and gasps from the fans) So this isn't just about personal honor, it's about family honor. So if you need my help to try to put a stop to my cousin, I'm your man! *shakes hands with Hennig as the crowd cheers* Tony St. Clair vs. Bull Pain "Tough" Tony had to dig in deep on this one, as Bull Pain has been coming in to his own as a singles threat of late. The big Bull just kept coming after St. Clair, and the Englishman was at something of a loss to figure out how to hold him off. St. Clair did what he could to take him down to the mat, but Pain would fight his way out of every takedown attempt. St. Clair was finally able to hit the spinning forearm smash to put him down, but Pain gave him one hell of a fight. The Southern Boys vs. The Suicide Blondes (Chris Candido & Louie Spicolli) With the flood of new teams to the PCW tag division, it is hard for a team like the Southern Boys to avoid getting lost in the shuffle. But as they took on the duo from the Knights Templar, they showed that they were just as competitive as ever. While Candido and Spicolli were stern competition, Smothers ultimately took down Candido with the Jawjacker. Even in the current environment, Smothers and Armstrong are on the rise. The Cheetah Kid vs. Barry Windham While the Cheetah Kid has impressed many in his short time in PCW, he seemed clearly outmatched going into this match. Not only did Barry Windham tower over him, but ever since Barry turned his back on the Brigade and joined up with the Neighborhood Of Evil , he has been on an absolute rampage. But even though he is new to PCW, the masked man has almost a decade of experience in the ring, and has learned how to take care of himself. He was able to duck and dodge some of Barry's heavier blows and score some hard shots of his own. Although Barry did some damage, Cheetah was always able to bounce back and on several occasions staggered him with dropkicks and high flying moves. The crowd started hoping the masked man might just pull off the upset, but it got shut down when Barry leveled him with an explosive lariat. One Superplex later and the Widowmaker had prevailed. A tough loss, but Cheetah Kid can hold his head high, knowing that had given a tough challenge to the top contender.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from McArthur Court, Eugene, February 5th Brian Christopher vs. Cyrus The Virus Jim Cornette was in the corner of his newest charge and was able to guide him to victory over the always dangerous Cyrus The Virus when Christopher hit the Chris Cross (Full Nelson Facebuster) Doug Furnas vs. Louie Spicolli The powerhouse of the Army defeated Spicolli with the Volunteer Slam (running Canadian Backbreaker into the corner). Lou Perez vs. The Undertaker A brave effort from Perez but he could not overcome the man from the Darkside, who defeated him with the Tombstone. The Cheetah Kid vs. Cactus Jack The wild masked man faced the leader of the Wild Things in a, errr, wild match that Cactus took with a running elbow smash. California Title Match : Scott Hall © vs. Angel Acevedo The Cuban Assassin provided a ferocious challenge to the new California champ, but Hall overpowered him with the Gator Breaker (Fallaway Slam) Pacific Tag Team Title Match : Coast 2 Coast (John Tatum & Jack Victory) © vs. The Bruise Brothers The hell raising champs seem to have found their match as these teams had a knock down, drag out fight that went long and ended in a double DQ when all four men were brawling in the ring at the same time.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Portland Memorial Coliseum , Portland , on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN, February 4th The Lethal Weapons (Steve Blackman & Al Snow) vs. Joe & Dean Malenko The newly minted team of the Lethal Weapons faced off against the Malenko Brothers in a closely fought bout that went to a 15 minute time limit draw. Tony St. Clair vs. Buzz Sawyer St. Clair showed why he was called "Tough" Tony as he withstood the attacks of the always fierce "Mad Dog" to put him down with the spinning forearm smash. Steven Regal vs. Maxx Payne Young Regal put up a good fight but wound up being overwhelmed by Payne who hit the Payne Threshold (side suplex) to get the win Billy Jack Haynes vs. Buddy Rose Despite the Playboy pulling out many of his considerable dirty tricks , Haynes just kept coming back and was able to get Rose in the Full Nelson. Before he could force him to submit, the Sin City Superstars came in to break it up, leading to a DQ. The three continued their attack until the Force Of July rushed in and ran them off. Bret & Owen Hart vs. Bob Backlund & Jim Neidhart The Hart Brothers had a long and intense battle with the leader of the Knights Templar and his top protégé. Bret and Neidhart had a number of furious exchanges, but it was Backlund who pulled out the victory by pinning Owen with the Backlund Bridge. Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Curt Hennig © vs. Jimmie Lee Hennig continued his run of hart hitting defenses against the Grave Digger of the Hollywood Vampires. This was an out and out fight where both men dished out some big bombs until Hennig was able to shut down the Spinal Grinder with a dropkick, then hit a jumping neck snap to hold him down long enough for the one two three.

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Portland Sports Arena, Portland , on ESPN / TSN, February 3rd The Holly Cousins vs. John Kenney & Rory Freeman Although they haven't gotten too many wins lately, Bob and Crash Holly have certainly garnered a lot of attention with their scrappy, go-to-hell style of fighting. Make no mistake about it, they didn't come to this match to wrestle but to fight, and Kenney and Freeman perhaps wished they had stayed home. The rambunctious cousins made mince meat of them before Bob finally put the finishing touches with an Alabama Slam on Freeman. Anyone who signs a contract with the Holly Cousins had best be aware of what they are in for. Dustin Rhodes vs. The Vampire Warrior Ever since the defection of Barry Windham to the Neighborhood of Evil, his former comrades in the Brigade have been relentlessly targeted by Paul Bearer's men. For his bout with the Vampire Warrior , Dustin Rhodes had to cope with not only Bearer but also the other half of the Hollywood Vampires, Jimmy Lee. Rhodes did his best to shut out the distractions and focus on the matter at hand, and did very well against the fanged one. Too well for Bearer's liking, as he directed the Gravedigger to hit Rhodes with his shovel when Dustin went into the ropes, leading to a DQ. Both of the Hollywood Vampires continued to attack him until Brian Lee rushed out and , in an impressive show of power and toughness, clothesline them both over the top rope. He then stood protectively in front of Dustin, almost daring them to come at him, but Bearer called his men off and ordered them back to the locker room. They may have had the run of things so far, but it looks like the Neighborhood Of Evil have made a powerful new enemy in the big Bulldozer. The Golden Guns (Todd Morton & Jerry Lynn) vs. The Suicide Blondes (Chris Candido & Louie Spicolli) The team of Morton and Lynn have recently changed their name to the Golden Guns , possibly in an attempt to stand out more in the highly competitive PCW tag team division. They faced a stern test of their new resolve in the Suicide Blondes, who were determined to nip this challenge right in the bud. The Golden Guns kept firing back with everything they had, and Lynn was able to hit a flying Sunset Flip on Candido to get a hard fought win over the Knights Templar. An impressive victory that should help the Guns put their mark on the Pacific Coast tag rankings. Pierre Carl Ouellet vs. Jim Neidhart Without a doubt, these are two of the toughest men in PCW. In his relatively short time on the Pacific Coast, Ouellet has earned a reputation as someone who backs down from nobody, as shown in his ongoing feud with Cactus Jack. The Anvil, of course, needs no introduction, having proved his credentials as the tough as nails enforcer for the Knights Templar. The two put on a predictably hard hitting hard hitting bout, with both men determined not to give an inch to the other. Neidhart dug deep to pull this out when he exploded out of the corner and leveled Ouellet with a running forearm smash. Strangely, he didn't try to submit him with either the Anvilizer or the Camel Clutch, instead covering him for the three count. Afterwards, Neidhart helped Ouellet to his feet and shook the French Canadian's hand as a show of respect before both men returned exhausted to the locker room. The Force Of July (The Patriot & The Eagle) vs. The Sin City Superstars (Scotty The Body & Reno Riggins) This was definitely a colourful match, with the masks of the Force Of July contrasting with the garish gear of the Superstars. Buddy Rose was out with the Superstars, keeping an eye on his new proteges. Scotty and Riggins were not about to overpower the athletic masked me, so tried misdirection and razzle dazzle. They were able to get the better of things for a while, but eventually the Patriot and the Falcon had enough and called on their considerable athletic ability to start bouncing the Superstars around the ring with shoulder tackles and clotheslines. At this point, Buddy Rose decided to intervene, sliding a metal chair into the ring when the ref was distracted. Scotty picked up the chair, but the Eagle spotted it and grabbed it as well. Instead of engaging in a tug of war, Scotty immediately let go and flopped to the mat on his back. The ref then turned around and, seeing the Eagle with the chair standing over the prone Scotty, called for the DQ on the Force Of July. The Patriot and the Eagle protested that they hadn't done anything, but the ref was adamant. The Superstars swiftly retreated from the ring, laughing all the way, while the Playboy gave them a proud look. The Destruction Crew, Bull Pain & Curtis Hughes vs. The Midnight Express, ?? ?? & ?? ?? This would be the first appearance of Jim Cornette and his men since the brutal ambush at the hands of the Destruction Crew two weeks before. There was much speculation as to who their partners will be. Ronnie P. Gossett and his cohorts didn't seem to be at all concerned, bearing cocky grins as they made their way to the ring. The Midnight Express were out next, and Jim Cornette immediately demanded the microphone. Cornette : You thought you were rid of me, Porky, but I am like a bad rash in that I don't go away so easily. You aren't going to catch me by surprise more than once, and I found just the right people to join the Express in taking down your band of goofballs. The first is a young man whose short career I have followed with keen interest. He has faced some much bigger men and taken some beatings, but he has always come back from them, and has just the fire that I am looking for … Brian Christopher! The crowd cheers on the young sparkplug, but Gossett's crew all laugh, clearly not taking Christopher seriously. Cornette : And the next member of our team is one of the most persistent and determined opponents the Midnight Express have ever faced. He was such a thorn in our side, we did everything we could to get him out of PCW. But if we could be the ones to get him out, we could bring him back in and that's what we've done. I called him up and told him what you idiots were doing to the Pacific Coast, and we made our peace. My mother's lawyers paved the way to bring him back in, and now you are going to have to face … "The Demon" Vic Steamboat! This announcement resulted in both a loud cheer from the fans and a show of consternation from Gossett's crew. Steamboat had not been seen in some months, ever since losing a loser leaves town match to the Express. But this was a different Vic Steamboat, with bold red and black ring gear and a previously unseen look of intensity. The match soon got down to brass tacks, with both sides setting a furious pace. Gossett's team tried to focus on Christopher, seeing him as the weak link. A grave mistake, as the smaller man was able to run the big bruisers ragged before tagging out when they tried to make him pay. The Midnight Express and the Destruction Crew both hit big moves on each other, ultimately fighting each other to a standstill. It all came down to a massive brawl in the ring, with Hughes failing to notice that Steamboat had ascended to the top rope. The Demon came off the top with a Flying Crossbody Press and the rest of his team held off the opposition long enough for him to score the pinfall. Steamboat had made a huge comeback and Cornette's new alliance had scored a major victory over their rivals.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN , January 29th Pierre Carl Ouellet vs. Jim Neidhart Two of the toughest SOBs in PCW went at it in a knock down, drag out fight. Ouellet was able to fight out of attempts to put him in the Camel Clutch or the Anvilizer, but Neidhart was finally able to put him down with a powerslam. Tony St. Clair vs. Louie Spicolli The young member of the Suicide Blondes showed a lot of fire in this match, and it took a lot of effort from St. Clair to pin him with the Floating Butterfly Suplex Dan Severn vs. Joe Malenko The new leader of the Army squared off in a tough technical battle with one of the members of the Pride and Severn prevailed by forcing Malenko to tap out to the Body Scissors Sleeper The Golden Guns (Todd Morton & Jerry Lynn) vs. Art Barr & Eddie Guerrero The newly dubbed Golden Guns gave the Wild Things quite the run for their money before Barr pinned Morton following a jumping piledriver. Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Victoria Memorial Arena, Victoria, on ESPN / TSN, January 27th The Lethal Weapons (Steve Blackman & Al Snow) vs. Brook Geraghty & John Palyok Last week, Dan Severn and Steve Blackman came to the aid of Al Snow when he was attacked post match by Gary Albright. Tonight, Severn was in the corner as the newly formed team of Blackman and Snow made their debut. The name of the Lethal Weapons proved prescient as they made mincemeat of Geraghty and Palyok. They seemed to gel instantly as a team, with plenty of combination moves that dazzled the crowd before Blackman polished off Geraghty with a running bicycle kick. It's tough to make an impression in the already crowded PCW tag team division, but the Lethal Weapons have made an immediate impact. The Gold Exchange (Todd Morton & Jerry Lynn) vs. The Destruction Crew Ronnie P. Gossett and the Destruction Crew were especially smug after their ambush of Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express last week. Morton and Lynn did everything they could to hold them back, but the DC Juggernaut would not be denied. It was only a matter of time before the Wrecking Ball took Lynn down and that was that. Gossett, Bloom and Enos must be feeling on top of the world right now, and who can blame him? Owen Hart vs. Angel Acevedo The Hart Brothers have been having a lot of conflict lately with the Diamond Exchange, and Owen has been at the forefront in his feud with Buzz Sawyer. Tonight, he would face the enforcer of the Diamond Exchange, the Cuban Assassin, who was certainly not about to go easy on Owen. But while Owen has been well known as a Light Heavyweight, he was also a product of his family's notorious Dungeon, and proved himself to be just as tough as any of his brothers. He took whatever Acevedo could dish out and returned it in kind. An attempted DDT from Acevedo was shut down hard with a belly to belly suplex. Owen swiftly went up top and hit a Moonsault for the win. Clearly, Owen is not about to take any guff from any of the Diamond Exchange. Brian Christopher vs. Bull Pain The self-satisfied ways of Ronnie P. Gossett and his men continued as he and Bull Pain came out looking particularly pleased with themselves. They were clearly not taking young Christopher seriously at all, being particularly dismissive of him early on in the match. But Christopher had a fire in his belly and was determined not to be overlooked. He managed to land some staggering shots and was able to get Pain off balance on a number of occasions. Unfortunately for him, he got overconfident, and when he went for a spinning leg kick, Pain caught him and slammed him down hard on his back. Pain followed up with the Hangman's Drop (two handed chokeslam) and that was that. Only it wasn't, as Pain kept attacking Christopher after the match until Gossett called him off. There is such a thing as being a sore winner, Bull Pain. Cheetah Kid vs. Crash Holly Two of the newest members of the PCW roster squared off in what proved to be a thrilling light heavyweight match. Crash may be getting known as a tag wrestler with his brother Bob, but proved that he was no slouch as a singles wrestler. These two set a wicked pace, and the fans were on the edge of their seats to see who would come out on top. Cheetah Kid ultimately prevailed when he hit the Power Bomb to put Crash's shoulders to the mat. With the fresh crop of newcomers to PCW, the list of contenders to Brian Pillman's Light Heavyweight Title is getting longer by the day. Lou Perez vs. Barry Windham After Windham's shocking betrayal of the Brigade , he has made no secret of his enmity towards his former colleagues. In this match with one of the newest Brigade members, he seemed to take particular pleasure in punishing young Perez. While the Ladies Man put in a noble effort, the newly aggressive Widowmaker was too overwhelming to stop. A crushing Superplex spelled the end for Perez. As if to rub it in, Windham placed his foot on top of Perez as he made the cover, raising his black gloved hand in the air as if to insult the Brigade. Clearly, his vow to destroy the Brigade is not to be taken lightly.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the LA Sports Arena, Los Angeles, on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN, January 21st The Gold Exchange (Todd Morton & Jerry Lynn) vs. The Sin City Superstars (Scotty The Body & Reno Riggins) The Superstars came back from their loss the day before when Scotty pinned Lynn following a discus clothesline. Brian Pillman vs. Barry Windham Pillman's Light Heavyweight Title was not on the line but he still gave it his all, putting in a gutsy performance that the newly stylized "Widowmaker" Barry Windham had to fight hard to contain. This was an intense battle that went back and forth until Windham flattened Pillman with a lariat, following up with a Superplex for the win. Bret & Owen Hart vs. Timothy Flowers & Buzz Sawyer A real hatred has blown up between the Harts and the Diamond Exchange, leading to a hotly contested and long tag battle that went to the Exchange when Sawyer hit a devastating powerslam on Owen. Lou Perez vs. Angel Acevedo Young Perez put in a valiant effort against the enforcer of the Diamond Exchange before ultimately going down to the Cuban Assassin's DDT. Pacific Tag Team Title Match : Coast 2 Coast (John Tatum & Jack Victory) © vs. Joe & Dean Malenko The Malenkos gave Tatum and Victory the toughest challenge thus far of their reign, looking on a number of occasions like they just might take the titles, until Tatum was able to catch Dean with a Superkick to successfully keep the belts around their waists. Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Olympic Auditorium , Los Angeles , on ESPN / TSN, January 20th Al Snow vs. Gary Albright "The Animal" Gary Albright has been tearing through the opposition in PCW without breaking much of a sweat, and didn't seem particularly impressed looking at Al Snow. Snow has been on his own since leaving the Knights Templar, and while he has had the fans behind him, he has been working hard to find his own identity. A big victory last week over Joe Malenko has given him a considerable boost, so this week he would be taking on another member of the Pride in the Animal. Once the match started, Albright rushed in for a lockup, but Snow wouldn't go for it, instead getting in some quick jabs and kicks before backing off. Other wrestlers had attempted hit and run tactics on Albright but eventually the big Animal caught up with them. Snow, however, was far more effective with them, landing some hard forearms shots that actually staggered Albright. Albright was able to get in some big throws on Snow, but Snow was able to roll through them and bounce back, ready to take him on. Snow ultimately made the fatal error of getting Albright in a waistlock and trying to take him down. Albright staggered him with a huge elbow smash, then hit a belly to belly suplex that took the wind out of Snow. He locked him in a Dragon Sleeper , and Snow, realizing there was no escape, swiftly tapped out. But that was not enough for Albright. He kept raining hard elbows on Snow after the match, until Dan Severn and Steve Blackman ran out to drive him off. Severn and Blackman then protectively helped Snow to the back. Interview : Don Coss stands in the ring Coss : Ladies and gentlemen, my next guests are a part of the vibrant PCW tag team scene … Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express. The crowd boos as Jim Cornette leads his men to the ring, but he didn't seem to take any notice. Cornette clearly had a bug under his collar about something already. Coss : Jim Cornette, the Midnight Express have had a lot of success in PCW, winning the Pacific Tag Team Titles twice. But with all of the new teams arriving recently , the competition has gotten much more fierce. How do you plan to stay relevant in this new era of tag team action? Cornette : Well, I've got something to say about that! All of these teams have nothing on the Midnight Express. We are the elite, the platinum standard of tag team wrestling. There's some red-faced yammer-head who keeps flapping his gums about how great his team is. I hate guys like that! He keeps saying his boys are the team of the future. They won't have any future if they keep going the way they are going in the present. They will never be fit to even step in the same ring as Sweet Stan and Beautiful Bobby. Cornette is cut off as Ronnie P. Gossett, backed up by Bull Payne and Curtis Hughes, waddles out to the ring. Gossett is clearly boiling mad and demands the microphone. Gossett : What's the big deal, insulting me like that? You're lucky Mike and Wayne are working out at the gym right now, because they would give you what for! My boys are the team of the future and your day is done! You might as well just pack it in and make way for the Destruction Crew! Cornette : The day my men clear out for the likes of you, Satan will be skating to work! You and your goons better get out of my interview, before the Midnight Express teaches you a lesson in manners. Cornette is cut off as Mike Enos and Wayne Bloom sneak in the ring behind him and ambush the Midnight Express with the handles of their sledgehammers. Payne and Hughes hold him trapped with an arm each as he watches aghast while the Destruction Crew pummel the Midnight Express. The Crew then hoist him up and execute the Wrecking Ball on the helpless manager. The crowd watches in horror as Gossett and his men leave, laughing all the way, with the three members of the Midnight Express laying prone in the ring. Brian Lee vs. Jimmie Lee Both of these men have quickly become hot new prospects in PCW, the Bulldozer as a singles wrestler and the Gravedigger as one half of the Hollywood Vampires. Jimmie's partner the Vampire Warrior was at ringside along with his manager Paul Bearer, while Brian was on his own. Brian didn't let that faze him at all, and these two bruisers had a rollicking, heavy hitting bout. Both men landed some big moves, but it looked like it would go to the Grave Digger when he tossed Brian into the ropes for the Spinal Grinder. But Brian just ploughed through him like a proverbial Bulldozer , blasting him in the head with a forearm smash before hitting the Prime Time Slam for the pinfall. Vampire Warrior dove into the ring to try to attack Brian post match, but the Bulldozer slid out of the ring and returned to the locker room. Methinks that Brian Lee will need to watch his back from now on. Dustin Rhodes & Lou Perez vs. Osten Taylor & Andrew Savage Dustin and Lou had made appearances before, including the big 8 man tag with the Brigade against the Neighborhood Of Evil, but this would be their first chance on Pacific Wrestling Showcase to really show what they could on their own. Rhodes was very promising, the lanky Texan proving very much at ease in the ring and showing the good humour of his father, the American Dream. Lou Perez showed a lot of the technical polish of his brother Al, but with a particular flair of his own. It was Al who finished off Savage with a Helicopter Slam. Even after the loss of their leader Barry Windham to the dark side, it is clear that the Brigade are determined to carry on. Brian Christopher vs. Curtis Hughes The young Christopher was giving up a lot of size and power to Mr. Hughes but wasn't going to let that deter him. He was more than willing to throw down with Hughes and was quick enough to dodge his shots while landing some of his own. He did well until he tried a spinning leg kick on Hughes, who caught him and slammed him hard onto the mat. Hughes then went to work on Christopher, eventually putting him down with the Cat's Claw (modified side slam onto the knee). A good effort by Christopher, but Mr. Hughes was just too much to overcome. The Force Of July (The Patriot & The Eagle) vs. The Sin City Superstars (Scotty The Body & Reno Riggins) With their colourful masks and gear and their athletic style, the Force Of July have swiftly become big favorites with the Pacific Coast fans. They would be facing an equally colourful team, albeit in a much more garish way, in the Sin City Superstars. The new members of the Playboy Club did their best to confound the masked men, and to give credit where it is due they were able to stymie the Force Of July with dirty tricks and double teams. Their luck ran out when Reno failed to notice that the Eagle had tagged in the Patriot, and was shocked to find himself trapped in a Full Nelson. Patriot then hit the Uncle Slam and the victory went to the Force Of July. Don't mess with the powers of liberty and justice for all. Steve Blackman vs. Buddy Rose With the end of Black Gold and the departure of Shane Douglas, Steve Blackman has struggled to find his place, both in the Army and in Pacific Coast Wrestling. Looking to prove himself, he faces a considerable challenge in the wily Godfather of the Playboy Club, Buddy Rose. Rose didn't seem to be taking him seriously at first, but soon learned that one should never underestimate the Living Weapon. Blackman kept him off balance with a fair number of well placed kicks and knee strikes, knocking the Playboy to the mat on several occasions. Rose went to the gutter to regain the advantage, hitting a nasty low blow on Blackman. Blackman did his best to fight back after that, but Rose was able to hit the Inside Out Backbreaker for the win. A tough break for Blackman, but still an important step on the comeback trail.

Good perspective. I remember in the old project I was doing the AWA and had the Crusher on my roster. Not someone I would go out of my way to see, but I heavily featured him in my Milwaukee shows because he was a legend there.

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Oakland Alameda County Arena, Oakland, on ESPN / TSN, January 13th The Gold Exchange (Todd Morton & Jerry Lynn) vs. The Midnight Express Before the match started, Jim Cornette demanded the ringside microphone. Cornette : Lately, there's been a red-faced yammer-mouth who has been flapping his gums about his so-called "Tag-Team Of The Future"! I hate guys like that! The thought that his pair of wet behind the ears punks have any kind of future is one of the most richly comedic things I have heard in a long time. What I bring you tonight is the tag team of the past, present, and the future … Sweet Stan and Beautiful Bobby, the Midnight Express! His men then did battle to the up and coming team of Morton and Lynn. The Gold Exchange are still finding their feet as a tag team but put in a game effort against the Midnights. It all came to the same result as the Midnight Express hit the Veg-O-Matic on Lynn for the victory. Cornette's ego might be a bit bruised by the claims of other managers, but his men are certainly showing themselves as a force to be reckoned with. Interview : Don Coss stands in the ring Coss : Ladies and gentlemen, my next guests are a tag team that is rapidly blazing a trail through PCW … the Bruise Brothers. The Harris Twins head out to the ring and, although they are far from fan favorites, the crowd seems almost afraid to boo them out of concern for how they might retaliate. Coss : So, errr, Don? You've both certainly made a quick impression, but the tag scene in PCW is highly competitive. How do you plan to distinguish yourselves? Before Don (?) can answer, "Smooth Operator" by Sade plays over the arena PA. This of course is the cue for "Playboy" Buddy Rose, along with Scotty The Body and Reno Riggins, to come swaggering out to the ring. Rose : Gentlemen, gentlemen, gentlemen! This is your lucky day! (Scotty and Riggins both roll their eyes) The Playboy Club is experiencing a period of aggressive expansion, and you are now getting the chance to get in on it. My men Scotty and Reno can attest to the benefits of membership. (Both men nod their heads) Money! Glamour! Women! Tag team title shots! Riggins : Ummmm, boss, you promised us a shot at the tag team titles. Rose : Errrrr, well, there are two sets of tag team titles! Plenty of titles for everyone. And that is just the tip of the iceberg of what you can expect if you join up with the Playboy Club. What do you say? Ron and Don look at each other and, without saying anything, nod and shake Rose's hand. Hoo boy. The Force Of July (The Patriot & The Eagle) vs. The Suicide Blondes (Chris Candido & Louie Spicolli) There was no ambiguity in the fans reaction to the Force Of July, as the masked duo had the crowd solidly behind them through this match. While the new duo from the Knights Templar gave them quite the fight, the Force Of July were able to overpower them when the Patriot Irish Whipped Spicolli into the Screaming Eagle (top rope missile dropkick) from the Eagle. The Force Of July are rapidly becoming one of the most popular teams in PCW. Interview : Don Coss stands in the ring Coss : Ladies and gentlemen, my next guests are perhaps the most controversial group in all of PCW … the Neighborhood Of Evil! The crowd loudly boos as Paul Bearer leads his men to the ring. A conspicuous new addition to their ranks is Barry Windham, wearing a black glove on his right hand and the traditional Neighborhood Of Evil scowl on his face. Coss : Barry Windham, I am shocked by your recent behaviour. Not only do you join up with the Neighborhood Of Evil, but you stab your best friend Curt Hennig in the back in the process! Windham : Friend? FRIEND? I asked just one thing from my so called friend. I had my hands full with One Man Gang, so I needed Curt to stop Nick Bockwinkel from challenging for my title at the same time. But Curt dropped the ball and couldn't get the job done. And the next thing you know, Gang and Bockwinkel conspire to rob me of my title. But the moment he has his own title, suddenly Hennig finds it in him to beat Bockwinkel and steal my title for himself. Some friend! I can't trust him or any of the Brigade to look out for me. And that's why I joined the Neighborhood Of Evil. They know how to do what it takes. And I will do what it takes to get my title back from my ex-friend, and I am going to destroy the Brigade while I am at it! The Widowmaker will be the next Pacific Wrestling Champion, no matter what the cost. Owen Hart vs. Buzz Sawyer After Buzz cost Owen his match with Buddy Rose last week, this match between the two was quickly signed. While Owen is mostly known as a high flyer and technical wrestler, his wrestling family clearly taught him how to fight, and he wasn't going to take any backward steps against the Mad Dog. And a down and dirty fight is what this was, getting so crazed and out of control that the ref just gave up and declared a No Contest. Even that would not put a stop to it, and Bret Hart, Brian Pillman, Timothy Flowers and Angel Acevedo had to come out to try to separate their partners. I doubt we have seen the last of this. Al Snow vs. Joe Malenko Ever since his departure from the Knights Templar, Al Snow has worked diligently to forge his own path, and has built up something of a following among the fans. Tonight, he would face the older of the Malenko Brothers and would put Joe's considerable technical expertise to the test. The two matched wits in the proverbial game of human chess, and the fans were spellbound to see who would come out on time. Joe managed to get Snow in a waistlock to set him up for a German Suplex, but Snow reversed the waistlock and knocked him to the mat with a forearm smash to the back of the head. Snow then hit a Wheelbarrow Suplex to get the one two three. Little by little, Snow is showing himself to be one of the hottest young prospects in PCW. British Steel (Steven Regal & Robbie Brookside) & Tony St. Clair vs. Art Barr, Eddie Guerrero & Cyrus The Virus The evening closed out with the British Invasion facing off against the Wild Things. While St. Clair and Cyrus got their shots in, it was mostly a duel between British Steel and Barr and Guerrero. Art and Eddie have been mounting a challenge for the Golden State Tag Titles held by Regal and Brookside. They showed they were not adverse to getting their hands dirty, as Barr hit a nasty low blow from behind on Brookside to set him up for a reverse neckbreaker by Eddie to give the win to the Wild Things. It makes one wonder just how long the Englishmen would be able to hold off the challenge from the Wild Things.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from McArthur Court, Eugene, January 8th Brian Christopher vs. Cyrus The Virus Two of the exciting young rookies of PCW had a fast paced bout that ended with Cyrus taking Christopher down with a roundhouse kick then hitting a Frog Splash for the win. The Midnight Express vs. The Holly Cousins Before the match, Jim Cornette got on the ringside microphone and introduced his men as "The tag team of the past, present, and future!" His men then had a barnburner of a match with the rambunctious young Holly Cousins, finally taming them by hitting the Veg-O-Matic on Bob. Steve Blackman vs. "Diamond" Timothy Flowers Blackman did his best against the leader of the Diamond Exchange, but Flowers showed his cunning by luring him into a knee shot to the midsection to set him up for a piledriver for the win. Billy Jack Haynes vs. Jim Neidhart Two of the strongest men in PCW faced off in an incredibly hard hitting affair that went to Billy Jack when he was able to get the Anvil up for the Shoulderbreaker and score the victory. Brian Lee vs. Maxx Payne The young Bulldozer put up an incredible fight but Payne was able to take him down with the Payne Threshold (side suplex). Pacific Tag Team Title Match : Coast 2 Coast (John Tatum & Jack Victory) © vs. The Suicide Blondes (Chris Candido & Louie Spicolli ) The Knights Templar continued their crusade against their former members, throwing their newest team into the fray in attempt to pull the Tag Team Titles from Tatum and Victory. Coast 2 Coast showed by they were the champs by coming back from everything that the Blondes dished out and defended their belts with Tatum taking Spicolli down with a Superkick. Pacific Television Title Match : Bret Hart © vs. Angel Acevedo The Hitman and the Cuban Assassin are no strangers to each other, having had many matches back in the day in Calgary. The two had a tight and intense war that wound up going to Hart when he blocked an attempted DDT and countered with a Brainbuster to pull out the win.
