AWA Pacific Wrestling show from the Kelowna Memorial Arena, Kelowna, February 9th Dan Spivey & Al Perez vs. The Starr "Cousins" Perez forced Chicky to give up to a Japanese Armbar (Wakigatame) Jake Roberts vs. Tracy Smothers Smothers really took it to the Snake, but Roberts kept his cool and ultimately prevailed with the DDT Mike Rotunda vs. Dave Schultz Rotunda won by DQ when Schultz punched the referee in the face for some reason or another Ragin' & Ravishing vs. Chavo & Hector Guerrero RnR took advantage of Hector's neck injury at the hands of Terry Gordy throughout the match, culminating in Rick Rude hitting the Rude Awakening on him for the victory Buddy Jack Roberts vs. Texas Red Texas Red leveled Buddy Jack with a flying lariat to get the one two three Michael Hayes vs. Leo Burke Hayes was ultimately able to defeat the wily veteran Burke with a Bulldog Headlock Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : Keichi Yamada © vs. Phil LaFleur An exciting match that had the crowd on their feet throughout where Yamada was able to pull out the win with a reverse cross body press. Yamada and LaFleur shook hands afterwards as the fans gave both of them a standing ovation Hyatt International vs. Kendo Nagasaki, The Great Kabuki, Mr. Hito & Masanobu Fuchi A heated and vicious match that waged back and forth until Gilbert and Beefcake hit a spike piledriver on Hito to score the pinfall Pacific Television Title Match : Terry Taylor © vs. Chris Adams An epic battle between two sworn rivals that went to a 30 minute time limit draw

AWA Pacific Wrestling show from the Victoria Memorial Arena, Victoria, on Pacific Super Cards, February 8th The Thundercats & Mad Dog Vachon vs. The Vice Squad & Ed Wiskowski Smiley was able to force Del Ray to give up to the Norman Conquest to get the win for his team Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Rip Morgan Morgan took advantage of a knocked down referee by clobbering Bigelow in the back of the nick with a loaded boot, followed by a Bombs Away kneedrop to get the tainted pinfall White Angel vs. Ron Starr Angel won with the Moonsault Ricky Steamboat & The French Revolution vs. Don Muraco & The Untouchables Muraco pinned Bravo after a belly to belly piledriver Pacific Tag Team Title Match : Buddy Rose & Doug Somers © vs. Keichi Yamada & Tracy Smothers Rose hit the Inside Out Backbreaker on Smothers to successfully defend their titles California Title Match : Tom Zenk © vs. Jonathan Boyd The tough Australian veteran gave Zenk a ferocious challenge, but Zenk eventually caught him in a running cross body press for the victory Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Terry Gordy © vs. Mando Guerrero Gordy was ultimately able to trap Mando in the Asiatic Spike to gain the hard fought win

First thing I did once I knew what my roster would look like after the various drafts was line everyone up in an initial program. Some people were doing double duty for various reasons and those programs are now starting to shift around after the Aloha Spectacular, but I wanted to make sure everyone on my roster had something going on.

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver, on ESPN / TSN , February 7th Brian Knobs vs. Too Cold Scorpio The Thundercats and the Vice Squad had a vicious and chaotic match at the Aloha Spectacular , and now the members would be squaring off in singles matches. First up would be the young high flyer Too Cold Scorpio against the Pennsylvania brawler Brian Knobs. Knobs had Ed Wiskowski in his corner, while it looks like Mad Dog Vachon has cemented his new alliance with the Thundercats by showing up to watch Scorpio's back. Scorpio consistently had a step ahead of Knobs, with his superior speed and agility frustrating the East Coast tough guy. Knobs battled back through some nasty cheap shots and eye gouges. Knobs was able to clothesline Scorpio over the top rope, then turned around to brag to Ed Wiskowski. Unfortunately for him, he failed to take in that the Polish Prince was screaming at him that Scorpio had caught himself on the top rope, and by the time Knobs turned around, Scorpio came off the top rope with a flying cross body press that got the three count. Wiskowski was clearly rubbing his forehead in frustration as he and Knobs left the ring. Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Rip Morgan Bam Bam was coming off a tough loss at the Aloha Spectacular and was very determined to prove himself in this match. Both men had their partners at ringside for this match, and Bam Bam tried to use his considerable size to bowl over Morgan, but the big New Zealander was not about to be intimidated, and fought back with his own considerable power offense. Morgan tried to take him down with a powerslam, but Bigelow's size was just too much and he tipped over with Bam Bam on top. Bigelow got a 2 count, then tried for a slingshot splash. Jonathan Boyd saw his chance to strike, and swept Bam Bam's legs from underneath him with a clothesline. Bigelow fell hard to the outside and was unable to make it back into the ring in time, giving the match to Morgan. Bam Bam was clearly very upset and frustrated after the match, and Leo Burke did his best to calm down and reassure his young charge. Hopefully this young superstar can regroup and get back on track. Jimmy Del Ray vs. Norman Smiley The next match in this feud featured the former Jim Backlund, newly renamed Jimmy Del Ray , so dubbed to better fit with the slick aesthetic befitting his provisional associate status with the Playboy Club. He might not have a classically sculpted physique, but he certainly had plentiful skill on display. Smiley himself was no slouch, being a standout graduate of the Malenko Family's wrestling school, and the two were evenly matched throughout the match. It looked like either man could win the match until Smiley whipped Del Ray into the corner, then ran in only to be taken down by a savate kick. Del Ray then went up top and hit a flying legdrop to put the match away. The Vice Squad have evened it up going into the last match of the series. Interview : Frank Bonnema stands in the ring Bonnema : Ladies and gentlemen, my next guests were hit with a vicious ambush at the Aloha Spectacular … Missy Hyatt , along with the members of Hyatt International! Missy Hyatt come out with Brutus Beefcake and Badd Company, and she is quite clearly furious, nearly shaking with rage as she walks to the ring. Joining their number is Eddie Gilbert, evidently aligning himself with Hyatt International after coming to her rescue last week. Bonnema : Missy Hyatt, I am sure you have plenty to say, but I want to direct my first question to Eddie Gilbert. You have no past association with Hyatt International, what made you come out to save Missy last week. Gilbert : Bonnema, a man can only put up with so much before he has to take a stand. I have cut some corners in my time, done a few things that maybe some people didn't approve of, but nobody treats a lady the way Gary Hart tried to treat Missy. I am making it my business to make sure that he never tries it again, so I am joining up with Hyatt International and going after Hart and his goons. Missy grabs Bonnema's microphone and starts shrieking into it. Missy : GARY HART, HOW DARE YOU? Nobody lays their hands on Missy Hyatt and gets away with it. You and your bunch of creeps tried to use the green mist on me, and I will never forgive that. Well, you took your best shot, and I am still here. I've got the toughest , the strongest, the most skilled wrestlers on my side. I've got Brutus Beefcake, I've got Badd Company, and now I have "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert, and they all want to tear you and your crew to pieces. You had your shot and you blew it , and now it is time to reap what you sowed. Jack Victory vs. Larry Cameron This would be the deciding match in the series, and presented an interesting matchup. Cameron has several impressive singles wins to his credit and would look to be the favorite. However, Victory's finisher, the Victory-Plex, has pulled out some sudden, err, victories in a number of tag matches, and could easily tip the match in favor of the New Jersey powerhouse. Both men went at it full force in this match, and the ring rocked with ever slam and tackle. The tension was high and both Ed Wiskowski and Mad Dog Vachon were heavily invested in the result of the match, both determined to ensure that their charges came out on top. It came to a boil when Wiskowski tried to take a swing from the outside on Cameron. Vachon swiftly retaliated by tackling the Polish Prince, which in turn led to the rest of the Thundercats and the Vice Squad coming out and getting involved. While all of this was going on, Cameron was able to block the Victory-Plex with a kneelift, then follow up with the Harlem Hammer to get the hard fought victory . Immediately after, he was jumped by Ed Wiskowski, and all 8 men went at it in the ring until they were cleared out by security. Clearly, this feud has a long way to go before it is resolved. Ricky Steamboat vs. The Barbarian Ricky Steamboat had a titanic match with his fellow Hawaiian Don Muraco in Honolulu , and while the Dragon did get the win by countout, that clearly did not bring satisfaction to him, and he is determined to get another shot at the Magnificent One. For this match, he would have to content himself by taking on one of his stable mate's, the mean and powerful Barbarian. Barbarian was clearly looking to do as much damage as possible to Steamboat before Muraco got his turn, with huge gorilla slams and big clotheslines. But the Dragon showed his resilience and fought back, bit by bit, inch by inch. When Barbarian tried to put him out with the Face Kick Of Fear, Steamboat showed the presence of mind to dodge it and catch him in a single leg rollup that got the fast one two three. Right after that, Sheikh Kaissie and Steve Strong rushed into the ring and started to put the boots to him. Soon, the members of the French Revolution charged to the ring and ran them off. It's good that Steamboat now has allies against Kaissie's men, but his focus remains locked on the Magnificent Muraco. Michael Hayes & Buddy Jack Roberts vs. Billy Jack Haynes & Texas Red The Freebirds have been waging a campaign of terror up and down the Pacific Coast, but in this match they were facing a team that were not intimidated in the slightest. Billy Jack and Texas Red were coming off a brutal war with the Crazy Gang, including an incredible match between Texas Red and Dave Schultz at the Aloha Spectacular, and were now looking to angle towards getting a shot at Terry Gordy's Pacific Heavyweight Title. Gordy was not involved in this match, but his Freebird brothers were clearly determined to nip this challenge right in the bud. The certainly took it to their opponents, but found that they had struck a hornet's nest with this popular duo. Billy Jack took down Hayes with a series of crushing power slams, and managed to get the Full Nelson on Roberts, only to have it broken up by well timed interference from Hayes. Buddy Jack was able to escape that predicament, but came up short when he went after Texas Red coming off the ropes, but was caught by a thunderous chokeslam that not only got the pinfall, but knocked him out . The Freebirds may have survived the challenge of the Guerreros, but it looks like they have gone from the frying pan straight into the fire.

Pacific Coast Wrestling Aloha Spectacular from Neal S. Blaisdell Arena , Honolulu , on ESPN / TSN , January 31st Leo Burke & Bam Bam Bigelow vs. The Royal Family In their past matchups, Boyd and Morgan have tried to keep Bigelow out of the ring and focus their damage on Burke, only for Bigelow to end up overwhelming them. For this match, they changed things up and kept the young rookie in the ring for as long as possible, letting him wear himself out and slowly chipping away at him. Even when Burke was in the ring, he took quite a pounding from the Royal Family before being forced to tag out again. Slowly but surely, Bigelow was able to rally back and put the Royal Family on the defensive with some big power moves, eventually catching Boyd coming off the ropes with a crushing powerslam to potentially get the victory. Unfortunately, the ref was unable to make the count as he was distracted escorting Burke from the ring, and Morgan nailed Bam Bam with a nasty running kneedrop to the back of the head before reversing the pin. The ref turned around and saw Boyd covering Bigelow, making the three count and giving Bam Bam his first pinfall loss. A tough break for the Beast From The East, but time will see how he bounces back from this. Eddie Gilbert vs. Manny Fernandez This match pitted two of the craziest newcomers to Pacific Coast against each other. While Gilbert does have a solid background in technical wrestling, you wouldn't know it from this match. Fists were flying, every dirty trick was played, it was an out and out brawl. Manny Fernandez was able to hit the Flying Burrito and went for the pinfall, but Gilbert had the presence of mind to get his leg on the ropes to break up the count. Fernandez initially thought he had gotten the three count and started to celebrate, but when he was informed that the match was still underway, he nearly went off on the ref. Instead , he went for another Flying Burrito, only this time Gilbert ducked it and countered with the Hot Shot that did get the three count. A hard fought match, but Gilbert ultimately prevailed. Keiichi Yamada & Tracy Smothers vs. The Starr "Cousins" On paper, Yamada and Smothers would look to be the most unusual pairing in PCW, however they found common ground in both their mutual respect for each other and their mutual distaste for Ron and Chicky Starr. The Starr Cousins dug deep into their bag of tricks and used every short cut they could think of to get the advantage over the considerable technical skills of Yamada and Smothers. Yamada and Smothers both would rally back, but the Starr's could not be kept down for long. Yamada got Ron set up for the Tiger Suplex, but Chicky came in to break it up with a blackjack, only to be stopped in his tracks by a savate kick from Smothers. Yamada completed the Tiger Suplex and scored the pinfall. They might seem like an unlikely team, but Yamada and Smothers work together like a well oiled machine. Falls Count Anywhere Match : Dave Schultz vs. Texas Red Texas Red has gradually built up quite a following in the pacific coast, with his unusual look and intense style. This has brought him into the sights of the always dangerous Dave Schultz, who has stated his intention to cut the raw boned youngster down to size. The result was a knock down, drag out fight that went all over the arena and deep into the fans area. No matter what Schultz threw at him, Red would just keep coming after him. Schultz was able to bring him down when he grabbed a chair and whalloped him hard across the back a couple of times. Schultz was clearly looking to hit him in the head for the coup de grace, but Texas intercepted it with both hands and yanked the chair out of his grasp. Red then threw the chair in Schultz's face then unleashed a flurry of punches. Texas Red's usually stoic demeanor was gone, replaced by raw fury as he rained down punches on Schultz, followed by a big chokeslam on the chair that put an end to the match. Both men were bloody and battered, but Texas Red had come out on top. The Thundercats vs. The Vice Squad These two groups are newly arrived in PCW and both quite eager to prove themselves. In most of their matches so far, the Thundercats have come out on top. But the Vice Squad have brought a whole new dimension to their feud by getting provisional associate status in the Playboy Club, and were led to the ring by the "Polish Prince" Ed Wiskowski. This new twist to their fortunes was shown in an even cockier attitude , if that was even possible, and they never seemed to take the Thundercats seriously. This is never a good idea, and the diverse and well coordinated offense of the Thundercats kept the Vice Squad members flying all over the ring. The turning point came when Larry Cameron sent Brian Knobs over the top rope with a mighty clothesline, and when Knobs was trying to recover on the floor, Cameron nailed him with a massive Harlem Hammer off the ring apron that sent Knobs crashing into Ed Wiskowski. This enraged the Polish Prince, and when Cameron got back to his feet, Wiskowski ambushed him from behind and drove him head first into the ring steps. This served to ignite Jack Victory and Jim Backlund, who were all over Too Cold Scorpio and Norman Smiley. Scorpio and Smiley tried to come back, but with Knobs recovered and Wiskowski sneaking in cheap shots, they were overwhelmed by the numbers and went down after Jack hit a pair of Victory-Plexes on Scorpio. This was not enough for the Vice Squad, who dragged the unconscious Cameron into the ring to do some serious damage on him. Suddenly, someone came running out of the audience and into the ring. It was Mad Dog Vachon, who sent the Vice Squad members sprawling with big punches. The Vice Squad decided to beat a strategic retreat rather than deal with the crazed French Canadian barking in the ring. It looks like the Thundercats now have a guard dog watching their backs, and the Vice Squad had best watch out. California Title Match : Tom Zenk © vs. Buddy Jack Roberts With Zenk having recently become the inaugural California champ, the handsome Minnesota has continued to have the support of the young ladies in the audience who squealed for his every move. Not so much for Buddy Jack Roberts, who was still smarting from his loss in the tournament finals and looking to bring more gold to the Freebirds. Roberts certainly put Zenk through his paces in this back and forth match, but in the end Zenk once again prevailed with the Missile Dropkick. Another impressive victory, but who knows what new challenges await him as champion? Mr. Hito, Masanobu Fuchi & Kendo Nagasaki vs. Brutus Beefcake & Badd Company Missy Hyatt's men have been on an incredibly roll lately, with the newly minted Brutus Beefcake showing more confidence every day and Badd Company providing a tough challenge for the Golden State Tag Titles. Gary Hart has clearly taken these challenges to his men quite personally and has sworn vengeance upon Missy Hyatt. The Japanese team seemed to have an added element of viciousness to their martial arts moves and submission attempts. Missy's men were not intimidated , and countered with a combination of Beefcake's considerable power and Badd Company's speed and double teams. When Beefcake locked Kendo in the sleeper , it looked like that was it for the match, but then Gary Hart signaled to the back. A black masked figure dashed out to the ring and clobbered Beefcake in the head with a set of nunchaku. Beefcake went down and the ref called for the DQ , only to be repaid with a thrust kick to the jaw. Tanaka and Diamond in turn were knocked out by the nunchaku, leaving Missy Hyatt alone and vulnerable. She was clearly screaming as Gary Hart ordered his men to drag her into the ring and had Fuchi and Hito hold her while the newcomer pulled his mask off and revealed himself as the Great Kabuki. Kabuki and Kendo clearly looking to hit her with a double blast of the green mist and it looked like there was no way out for the Walking Riot when rescue came from an unexpected source. Eddie Gilbert ran to the ring as fast as he could and threw a massive fireball at Kendo and Kabuki that sent all of Hart's men scattering. After checking to make sure that Missy was alright, Gilbert helped Beefcake and Badd Company get back to their feet and the four men escorted a clearly shaken Missy Hyatt to the back. While Hart has brought out a very big gun in this war, time will tell what Missy will do to retaliate. Pacific Tag Team Title Match : Buddy Rose & Doug Somers © vs Dan Spivey & Al Perez While the Playboy Club have kept a very tight grip on the Pacific Tag Titles since winning them at San Diego Battleground, the young up and comers of the Brigade have been very hot on their heels. As is their tradition, Spivey and Perez had their Brigade teammates, Mike Rotunda and Tom Zenk, in their corner, cheering them on and watching their backs throughout , but the veterans Rose and Somers were clearly not intimidated. What resulted was an exciting clash between the power and enthusiasm of the Brigade and the experience and cunning of the Playboy Club. At several moments it looked like the challengers had Rose and Somers dead to rights, only for the champs to wriggle out by way of subterfuge or ingenuity. Perez was all set to bring the titles home when he set up Rose for the German suplex, but Somers cut him off with a nasty clip to the knee from behind. Rose then hit the Inside Out Backbreaker and that put an end to the challenge of the Brigade … for now, at least. Terry Taylor & Jake Roberts vs. Chris Adams & The White Angel This situation started out as a simple challenge by Adams for Taylor's TV Title, but the presence of Jake Roberts and the arrival of the White Angel has transformed it into something far move volatile. With each man in the match possessing one of the most effective finishers in wrestling (the Fivearm, the Superkick, the Moonsault, and the DDT) , it seemed like this match would break into a race to see who could get theirs first. By this point in the feud, Taylor and Roberts were no longer off guard and were going full bore after Adams and the White Angel, who responded in kind. The action never let up until Angel hit an impressive dive to the outside that landed on Roberts that took them both out of action. This just left Adams and Taylor to go at it with everything they had, and when Taylor missed a Fivearm, Adams caught him on the rebound with a Superkick that put him down for good. Enough to win the tag match, but now he needs to get that three count in a title match. Grudge Match : Don Muraco vs. Ricky Steamboat Don Muraco made his entrance to Pacific Coast Wrestling in especially dramatic style with a brutal and underhanded ambush of Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. He followed up with insults to the popular superstar and proclaiming himself the King Of The Pacific and one true Hawaiian. This has all led to them to try to settle the score in their shared homeland. Normally, Steamboat would have had the entirety of the audience in his corner, but this crowd seemed pretty much split down the middle, with a fair number of the Hawaiians present identifying with Muraco and his freewheeling style and spacey charisma. Steamboat was running hot through much of this match, with his temper leading him to make some mistakes and to fall for some traps by Muraco early on. The Magnificent One, for his part, maintained an oily self assuredness and kept the same cocksure grin on his face no matter what Steamboat did. Eventually, Steamboat took some time out on the outside to compose himself. He returned to the ring much calmer, and managed to keep his own cool in several exchanges with Muraco. He kept chipping away an Muraco's guard and would keep dodging when Muraco tried to strike back. Now Muraco was getting frustrated, and when Muraco thought he had Steamboat lined up against the ropes for a big clothesline, Steamboat yanked down the top rope and sent Muraco crashing to the outside. Steamboat then went up to the top turnbuckle and went sailing to the floor with a flying karate chop on the Magnificent One. Steamboat was able to beat the count back into the ring and get the victory by countout, but Muraco was hot on his heels and the two continued to slug it out long after the match was over. Steamboat may have won this match, but this feud clearly has a long way to go before it is resolved. Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Terry Gordy © vs. Chavo Guerrero After Gordy won the Pacific Heavyweight Title at San Diego Battleground, the Guerrero Brothers made an immediate challenge for his belt, and while they have scored some impressive victories over the Freebirds in tag matches, the champ has proved difficult to unseat in one on one bouts. Gordy served notice with a vicious dismantling of Chavo's brother Hector last week in Los Angeles, letting it be known that he would do whatever it took to keep a firm grip on his title. Both men's partners accompanied them to ringside, but the ref immediately announced that PCW Commissioner Dutch Savage had declared a special stipulation for this match, that both the Freebirds and the Guerreros were banned from ringside. Both sides started to complain, but the ref held firm and they were escorted from the ring. This would be exclusively one on one for all the marbles. This was a truly epic battle , and no one knew who would come out on top. Chavo would use hit and run tactics against Gordy, only for Gordy to level him out of nowhere with massive punches and lariats. Chavo used every counter imaginable to avoid the dreaded Freebird Piledriver, but Gordy proved far to big and strong for Guerrero to execute the German Suplex. Ultimately , Chavo was able to knock Gordy down in the middle of the ring for the top rope flying somersault senton. However, Gordy still had the presence of mind to roll out of the way at the last second, and Chavo went tumbling hard to the mat. Gordy then locked him up in the Asiatic Spike, and nothing Chavo could do would get him out of it, so he had no choice but to give up the match. A noble challenge, but Chavo fell short, and the question remains : can anyone take the title from the big Freebird?

Tom Zenk is the new California Champion. Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Terry Gordy © vs. Mando Guerrero Gordy caught Mando flat footed with a massive lariat to successfully defend his title

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Olympic Auditorium , Los Angeles , on ESPN / TSN , January 24th Eddie Hogan vs. Ben Browning Things were quite peculiar in this match even before it could start as Missy Hyatt and Badd Company came out before the match intros. As the announcer started to introduce Eddie Hogan, Hyatt insisted on taking the microphone from him. Hyatt : We won't be hearing that name any more. My client doesn't need to hide in his brother's shadows, he is his own man. So let me introduce to you, the newest agent of Hyatt International, now residing in San Francisco, California … Brutus Beefcake! The fans cheered but seemed a bit puzzled as the newly christened Brutus Beefcake headed to the ring. Gone was the rambunctious over-enthusiasm of before, replaced with a slow, silky confidence. He was no longer dressed in Hulk Hogan gear, but rather zebra print tights, jacket and gloves, similar to that of Badd Company except with the addition of a black bow tie and shades. While he still posed and shook hands with the fans, he no longer seemed desperate for their approval. This new confidence carried over into the ring as he quickly dominated Browning from the get go, not really breaking a sweat as he overpowered and dismantled him before finishing him off with the running jumping kneelift. Eddie , errr, Brutus had a lot of potential before, but with Missy Hyatt's guidance, we might finally be seeing what he is capable of. Inteview : Frank Bonnema stands in the ring Bonnema : Folks, my next guest has been the centre of controversy ever since his arrival in Pacific Coast Wrestling … "The Magnificent One" Don Muraco The crowd explodes in boos as "Magnificent" Muraco, accompanied by Sheikh Adnan Al-Kaissie and the Untouchables, struts to the ring. Muraco doesn't seem to be bothered by the fans' negative response and, in fact, looked like he found it quite amusing. Bonnema : Don Muraco, you made your debut by ambushing Ricky " The Dragon" Steamboat. What on earth did Ricky Steamboat ever do to you to warrant that attack? Muraco : Now look here, Bonnema! The Pacific knows the Magnificent One. I am the King Of The Pacific! I deserve the respect owed to my station. But I return here and I find everyone is talking about this so-called "Dragon" Ricky Steamboat, this pretender to my crown. Hawaiian? He doesn't even surf! Well listen up, Mister Steamboat, and listen good. A tidal wave is coming for you and I am surfing on top of it. It will touch down in the heart of my kingdom, Honolulu, and when it hits you, you will have no choice but to bow to your King! A furor erupted at ringside as Ricky Steamboat stormed out, only to be held back by pretty much the entire PCW security team. Don Muraco laughed and dared him to come in the ring, and he would have eagerly complied, but the PCW officials said no dice. Guess we will just have to wait for the Aloha Spectacular to see these two finally square off , one on one. Eddie Gilbert vs. Masanobu Fuchi While this might seem an odd pairing, these two are not strangers to each other, having had a chaotic legendary tag team brawl in Tupelo a few years ago. The hatred doesn't look like it has cooled with the passage of time, as they didn't even wait for the opening bell to start tearing into each other. The normally disciplined Fuchi went at it full bore, seemingly ignoring every command his manager Gary Hart shouted at him to get at Gilbert. "Hot Stuff" fired back with equal fury, and was ultimately able to come out on top when he snuck in an uppercut that caught Fuchi right on the button, setting him up for the Hot Shot and pinfall. Fuchi wanted to keep going and had to be held back by Hart and his partner, Mr. Hito. I don't think we have seen the end of this by a long shot. The White Angel vs. Russell Swann It turns out that the mysterious stranger who has come to Chris Adams' rescue in the past few weeks is a young Japanese wrestler going by the name of The White Angel. Rumour has it that he is in Pacific Coast Wrestling on some sort of personal quest, but nothing more is known about him. Chris Adams was at his side as he made his official in ring debut and was very supportive of his new friend. Even with the recent influx of young, quick light heavyweight wrestlers in PCW, the White Angel moved at incredible speed, dissecting Swann with martial arts moves and dropkicks before a backbreaker set Swann up for a spectacular backflip off the top rope (dubbed the Moonsault) that got the Angel the three count. These two will face Terry Taylor and Jake Roberts in a tag match at the Aloha Spectacular and it looks like Taylor and Roberts are in for a tough contest. Interview : Frank Bonnema stands in the ring Bonnema : Folks, my next guests are among the many rising stars looking to make a name for themselves in Pacific Coast Wrestling … the Vice Squad. The fans greet this announcement with boos as Jim Backlund, Brian Knobbs and Jack Victory head out to the ring, strutting in a cocky manner … although perhaps not as cocky as when they first appeared. Bonnema : Well, you guys might not have gotten the approval of the fans, but there is no denying you have drawn attention in PCW. Victory : Of course we have, Bonnema. It's been a long time since the Pacific Coast as seen such a combination of strength, skill and good looks come there way. Let's face it, the Vice Squad has it all. Bonnema : All the same, the Thundercats made their debut about the same time as you have and have made an even bigger splash, getting some wins over you and even challenging for the Pacific Tag Team Titles. Knobbs : That's a lot of crap, Bonnema, and you know it. They might have fluked their way into some wins, but we are clearly the superior team. It's pure favoritism that that idiot Dutch Savage gives the tag title matches to the Kitty Cats, when anyone with a lick of sense knows it should go to the Vice Squad! It is totally unfair! Knobbs is cut off by the arena PA playing "Smooth Operator" by Sade, heralding the arrival of Buddy Rose and the rest of the Playboy Club. The crowd erupts in boos ten times greater than those that greeted the Vice Squad, and Frank Bonnema was clearly annoyed by their interruption, but for their part, the Vice Squad seemed intrigue and even impressed. Rose : Gentlemen, gentlemen, I hear, I agree, and I have arrived to grant your greatest wish. You are right that Dutch Savage and the rest of the PCW officials are idiots. I , on the other hand, am far more perceptive than those goons will ever be, and I recognize your finer qualities. Style, gumption, ruthlessness … potential, my good men! And it is in appreciation of this potential that I offer you a prize I rarely offer : provisional associate status with the Playboy Club! Jim Backlund : Wow, we would love that, Mister Rose! Whatever you say, we'll do it for you! Buddy Rose : Well, funny you should mention that … just a week ago, we had to defend our titles against the Thundercats, and I have to tell you how much I agree with you : totally overrated. They have no sense of sportsmanship whatsoever. We've only faced them once, and we are already sick of them. So your first task is to keep the Thundercats away from us. Maul them, cripple them, just keep them out of my immaculate platinum locks while we face the real challengers. My good friend the Polish Prince here has even agreed to watch your backs and provide guidance. (Ed Wiskowski raises his eyebrow, twitches his mustache, and then put a hand on the shoulders of Backlund and Knobbs, looming over them.) Just help me with this simple task and keep the Thundercats off our backs, and you will have earned my gratitude. Backlund : And then we'll get a title shot? Rose : Ha ha ha, walk before you can run, guys! Trust me on this, do as I ask and you will be duly compensated. The Vice Squad look at each other, take a quick moment to discuss, and then shake the hands of the Playboy and his partners. It looks like they have now lined up with the Playboy Club. Pacific Coast Heavyweight Title Match : Terry Gordy © vs. Hector Guerrero Of late, the Guerrero Brothers have continued to bedevil the Fabulous Freebirds, even getting some high profile victories going into next week's title defense between Terry Gordy and Chavo Guerrero. Word had it that the Freebirds were looking to make a statement in this match, but no one knew what form that would take. With all Freebirds and Guerreros present for this match, the ref let it be known that he would tolerate no shenanigans and if he caught so much of a hint of direct interference, he would not be shy about handing out fines and suspensions. Hector wisely went for hit and run tactics against the much bigger champ, peppering him with punches and dropkicks before dodging out of range. Gordy was getting visibly frustrated and at one point, retreated from the ring and spoke to Michael Hayes, who whispered something into his ear. Whatever it was seemed to be effective, as Gordy nodded in response and was much calmer as he reentered the ring. Hector continued to chip away at the champ and gradually wore him down to the point that the challenger dared to grab him by the arm to whip him into the ropes. This proved to be the fatal mistake as it turned out Gordy had been playing possum, shown when he pulled Hector in and flattened him with a massive short lariat. Gordy followed up with brutal lefts and rights that violently rocked Hector's head before executing not one but two mighty piledrivers that put an end to his challenge. Gordy looked like he was going to try to dish out more punishment but Hector's two brothers dove into the ring and stood over to protect him. Chavo may well be starting to have some misgivings about his upcoming title match.

AWA Pacific Wrestling show from the Selland Arena, Fresno, January 19th Hector Guerrero vs. Tracy Smothers An exciting technical matchup where Hector caught Tracy in the Guerrero Clutch for the win. Both men shook hands after the match Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Jim Backlund Bigelow won with a slingshot splash The French Revolution vs. The Untouchables The Barbarian caught Dino Bravo coming off the ropes with a lightning quick facekick to score the victory Larry Cameron vs. Jack Victory Cameron executed the Harlem Hammer to come out on top Mike Rotunda vs. Don Muraco Rotunda nearly got Muraco with the Samoan Drop, but Muraco interrupted it with several huge elbows to the face and Rotunda wasn't able to get the big man up. Muraco then was able to pull off his own Samoan Drop on Rotunda and got the three count Double Chain Tag Match : Billy Jack Haynes & Texas Red vs. Ragin' & Ravishing An incredibly bloody affair where everyone was busted open by the end, ultimately it was won when Texas Red & Billy Jack hit a double chain assisted lariat on Rick Rude to finally put an end to the match Golden State Tag Team Title Match : Mr. Hito & Masanobu Fuchi © vs. The Thundercats (Norman Smiley & Too Cold Scorpio) The most tightly contested match of the night ended when Smiley was attempting to lock the Norman Conquest (Cross Face Chicken Wing) on Hito, who blocked it and reversed into a backdrop driver to defend their belts. Pacific Coast Television Title Match : Terry Taylor © vs. Leo Burke Taylor was trying to lock in the Figure Four when Burke countered with an inside cradle. Taylor grabbed a fistful of trunks and reversed the inside cradle to get the win.

A couple of big announcements from Pacific Coast Wrestling. First up, with PCW ending their association with the AWA, the official top title in PCW is no longer the AWA World Title, but is now exclusively the Pacific Heavyweight Title, currently held by Terry Gordy. With that, PCW is now creating a new tertiary title, to go with the Pacific Title and Terry Taylor's Television Title. There will be a one night, 8 man tournament to crown the new California Champion, to be held at the upcoming PCW show at the LA Sports Arena on January 25th. The opening matchups are as follows : Phil LaFleur vs. Manny Fernandez Tom Zenk vs. Jim Backlund Mad Dog Vachon vs. Ed Wiskowski Too Cold Scorpio vs. Buddy Jack Roberts The second announcement is that the following week , on January 31st, the second annual Aloha Spectacular from Neal S. Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu will take place and there will be a special triple main event. The three matches are as follows. Grudge Match : Don Muraco vs. Ricky Steamboat Terry Taylor & Jake Roberts vs. Chris Adams & the mysterious stranger in white Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Terry Gordy (c) vs. Chavo Guerrero Should make for a great card.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Oakland Alameda County Arena, Oakland, on Pacific Super Cards, January 18th Keiichi Yamada & Tracy Smothers vs. The Starr "Cousins" Smothers hit a Jawjacker on Chicky Starr into a Tiger Suplex by Yamada to get the win for their team Mad Dog Vachon vs. Ed Wiskowski An out of control brawl that broke down into a Double DQ finish Ragin' & Ravishing vs. The French Revolution Rick Rude pinned Dino Bravo after the Rude Awakening Texas Red vs. Dave Schultz Texas Red won with a Western Lariat Don Muraco vs. Norman Smiley Muraco got the victory with a belly to belly piledriver Larry Cameron vs. Brian Knobbs Cameron took down Knobbs with the Harlem Hammer Jake Roberts vs. Chris Adams Roberts had Adams set up for the DDT, but Adams blocked it and followed up with the Superkick for the win. After the match, both Roberts and Terry Taylor attacked Adams, but once again , the mysterious stranger in white appeared and ran them off. The stranger then helped up Adams, bowed to him and shook his hand before the two left the ring together. Pacific Coast Tag Team Title Match : Buddy Rose & Doug Somers © vs. Mike Rotunda & Tom Zenk Rose and Somers did a vicious double team on Rotunda while the ref wasn't looking, followed by a running splash by Rose who pinned Rotunda with his feet on the ropes The Fabulous Freebirds vs. The Guerrero Brothers In a shocking result, Chavo hit the top rope somersault senton on Terry Gordy outside the ring to get the win by countout

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Cow Palace , San Francisco , on ESPN / TSN, January 17th Don Muraco vs. Mike Borassi After his dastardly ambush of Ricky Steamboat last week, Don Muraco was now making his official debut in Pacific Coast Wrestling, and he continued with the surprises by being led to the ring by Sheikh Adnan Al-Kaissie. Muraco was clearly bragging about taking out Steamboat as he walked to the ring, but once the bell rang, he was all business. The Magnificent one wasted no time tossing Borassi around the ring like a ragdoll, and made fairly short work of him by driving him to the mat with a belly to belly piledriver. Muraco has already made a big splash in the Pacific, and with the Sheikh by his side, it could easily turn into a tidal wave. Golden State Tag Team Title Match : Mr. Hito & Masanobu Fuchi © vs. Badd Company The rookie team of Paul Diamond and Pat Tanaka have made a big impression in their brief time in Pacific Coast Wrestling, and their manager Missy Hyatt has been able to leverage that success into a shot at the Golden State Tag Titles, quite a feat for such a young team. The champions were under new management, being led to the ring by Gary Hart, and he was clearly unimpressed with the opposition. While Hart and Hyatt verbally sparred across the ring, their charges kept their minds focused on the action, and the result was a fast paced and intense bout. Badd Company showed a lot of potential with their double teams and high flying moves, but in the end, it was the patience and experience of the champions that prevailed. Fuchi was able to dodge a flying reverse crossbody from Diamond and capitalize with an STF to successfully defend their titles. Nonetheless, a very promising effort for Missy Hyatt's team of young firebrands. Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Jonathan Boyd Speaking of impressive rookies, "The Beast From The East" Bam Bam Bigelow has been generating a lot of talk since his debut. Ever since Leo Burke brought him in as his partner against the Royal Family, he has made a big mark with his incredible blend of power and agility. The Royal Family have been at a loss to contain him in tag matches and Jonathan Boyd fared no better in singles action. No matter what Boyd tried, Bigelow kept bowling him over and ended up finishing him off with a devastating top rope splash. Bam Bam is on a roll, and who knows what the Royal Family can do to try to stop him. Chavo Guerrero vs. Buddy "Jack" Roberts When Terry Gordy won the Pacific Heavyweight Title, it seemed like the Fabulous Freebirds were on top of the world. Now they find themselves scrambling to deal with a challenge from all three of the Guerrero Brothers. Their confidence can't have been helped by this match, where Chavo opened up with a lockup that he swiftly turned into a waistlock and from there a German Suplex that got a shockingly quick three count. Knowing the Freebirds, they have something up their sleeve but for now, the Guerreros have put them on the defensive. Eddie Hogan vs. Kendo Nagasaki Ever since his brother Hulk Hogan left the Pacific Coast , Eddie Hogan has made a concerted effort to make his own name in PCW but has been bedeviled at every turn by Kendo Nagasaki. With Nagasaki now being managed by Gary Hart, the war between the two has intensified, and Eddie came out to this match with both guns blazing. Eddie was extremely aggressive with his power offense, but Kendo was not one to be easily intimidated, and fired back with brutal martial arts kicks and chops. The two went at it fist and fire, but it looked like Eddie would finally get the win when he locked Kendo in a Sleeper Hold. This led to Gary Hart waving to the back, and Mr. Hito and Masanobu Fuchi charged and attacked Eddie, which resulted in a DQ win for Eddie but cost him a clean victory. Hart's men beat down Eddie until Badd Company rushed out and sent the Japanese team flying out of the ring with some well placed dropkicks. As Diamond and Tanaka helped up the battered Eddie Hogan, Missy Hyatt gave him a long appraising look and directed her men to assist him to the back of the arena. Who know what plan the Walking Riot has in mind for Eddie Hogan? Only time will tell. Pacific Coast Tag Team Title Match : Buddy Rose & Doug Somers © vs. The Thundercats (Norman Smiley & Too Cold Scorpio) Another rookie team getting a title shot this evening are the Thundercats, in this case consisting of Norman Smiley and Too Cold Scorpio going after the Pacific Coast Tag belts. At first, Rose and Somers (who had the "Polish Prince" Ed Wiskowski in their corner) did not take the duo seriously, looking very dismissive in their first exchanges with the Thundercats. This proved to be a mistake as Smiley and Scorpio, looking to prove themselves, really took it to the Playboy Club, with Scorpio knocking Rose across the ring with his high flying moves and Smiley getting the better of Somers in several matwork and counter wrestling exchanges. To get the advantage back, the Playboy Club went deep into the gutter, with Wiskowski seizing the opportunity of the ref's attention being elsewhere and ambushing Scorpio, pulling him off the ring apron and hitting a face first piledriver on the floor. This provoked the third Thundercat, "Lethal" Larry Cameron, into charging from the locker room and slugging it out with Wiskowski. During this distraction, Rose attacked Smiley and executed the Inside Out Backbreaker to get the pinfall. A disappointing result for the Thundercats, but proof that they have put a scare into the Playboy Club.

Now that most of my new roster has been rolled out, I am going back to doing something I was doing in the old project, which is Sunday shows in smaller markets. This gives my rookies more opportunities to get experience outside the spotlight.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from McArthur Court, Eugene, January 12th Michael Hayes & Buddy Roberts vs. Badd Company Badd Company's speed and coordination had the Freebirds off balance for much of the match, but a sneak attack low blow by Roberts on Diamond set up a Bulldog Headlock by Hayes to pull out the dirty win for the Freebirds Larry Cameron vs. Chicky Starr Starr kept in the match through his sneaky and underhanded tactics, but ultimately Cameron flattened him with a lariat then destroyed him with the Harlem Hammer Kendo Nagasaki vs. Tracy Smothers Despite a valiant effort by the resurgent Smothers, Nagasaki caught him with a roundhouse kick to the head to score the victory The Guerreros vs. The Vice Squad The rookie Vice Squad put up quite a fight for the Guerreros, but it was Chavo who would prevail with a German Suplex on Jim Backlund The Royal Family vs. Leo Burke & Bam Bam Bigelow In what many fans call the move of the night, Bigelow hit a top rope splash on Boyd to get the win for his team Golden State Tag Team Title Match : Mr. Hito & Masanobu Fuchi © vs. The Thundercats (Too Cold Scorpio & Norman Smiley) The rookie Thundercats put in a great effort for this title challenge, but the Japanese veterans kept their cool and , after Fuchi dodged out of the way of a moonsault by Scorpio, he locked the Thundercat in an STF and forced him to give up the match Pacific Coast Light Heavyweight Title Match : Keiichi Yamada © vs. Ron Starr In a match that nearly went to the 30 minute time limit, Yamada caught Starr in a twisting back body press to defend his title. After the match, Chicky Starr ran out and joined his "cousin" in attacking Yamada, but Tracy Smothers rushed out to even the odds and run off the Starrs Pacific Coast Television Title Match : Terry Taylor © vs. Eddie Hogan When Kendo Nagasaki came out to distract Eddie, Taylor hit him with a Fivearm on the ring apron that knocked him outside and let to a victory by countout. After the match, Kendo, Mr. Hito and Masanobu Fuchi all attacked Eddie until Badd Company came out to defend him and help him to the back.

Taylor remains TV champion. After the match, Adams was double teamed by Taylor and Jake "The Snake" Roberts but was rescued once again by the mysterious stranger in white, who disappeared after Taylor and Roberts fled to the back Pacific Coast Tag Team Title : Buddy Rose & Doug Somers © vs. Dan Spivey & Al Perez The young Brigade members put in a gallant effort and looked like they might take the titles at several points. Perez had Rose trapped in a schoolboy rollup, but Somers took advantage of the ref's distraction and nailed Perez with a vicious elbow shot to the face that reversed the rollup and secured the title defense for the champs.

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Portland Sports Arena, Portland , on ESPN / TSN , January 10th The Untouchables vs. Danny Brown & Ace Gordon When we last saw Sheikh Adnan Al-Kaissie, he was managing the Assassins in a losing effort against the Vachon Brothers. The Assassins may be gone, but the Sheikh is not ready to go by a long shot, and has increased his efforts to take over the region with a ruthless new tag team. The Untouchables consist of Steve Strong, an appropriately named powerhouse with a sadistic streak, and The Barbarian, a reckless and muscular monster capable of explosive bursts of terrifying violence . Strong used his impressive strength the bend and stretch poor Brown while the Barbarian knocked him all over the ring with nasty, reckless slams and kicks. Then, after Barbarian sent Gordon off the ringside with a lightning quick kick to the head, Strong hoisted Brown up in a bearhug and Barbarian came off the top rope with a flying clothesline to polish him off. It looks like the Sheikh is aiming to make his mark on Pacific Coast and with the Untouchables by his side, it will be hard to deny him. Kendo Nagasaki vs. Eddie Hogan With Hulk Hogan, Larry Zbyszko and KY Wakamatsu all gone from Pacific Coast, it would seem like the issues between Kendo and Eddie Hogan would be boiled down to a One On One situation. Anyone betting on that would be in for a surprise in this match, as Nagasaki came to the ring accompanied by his new manager, Gary Hart. It seems like the addition of Hart's guidance and the subtraction of Zbyszko's distraction has brought new intensity to Kendo, as he tore into Eddie with a laser like focus. The powerful junior Hogan fought back gamely, but Kendo did not let up for a second, and when the ref tried to get in between them, he was rewarded with Kendo's green mist to the face for his efforts. This led to a loss by DQ, but Kendo didn't seem to care as he and kept after Eddie until the two were separated by security. One can only imagine what Gary Hart's sinister plan is for Pacific Coast now that he is guiding Kendo Nagasaki. Badd Company vs. The Starr "Cousins" Last week, Badd Company made an impressive debut on Pacific Showcase, but this time out, they would be facing more experienced opposition in Ron and Chicky Starr . At first, the Starrs didn't seem particularly impressed with Paul Diamond and Pat Tanaka, and spent most of their time posing and putting the moves on Missy Hyatt, who seemed particularly unimpressed herself with the Starrs. They swiftly learned never to take their eyes off Badd Company, whose rapid fire moves and tags kept the Starrs off balance throughout the match. Chicky Starr wound up making one pass too many at Missy, as he turned around into a crescent kick by Tanaka. Tanaka then combined a brutal legsweep with a lariat from Diamond that folded Chicky up like a pretzel. Tanaka rolled up Chicky for the pinfall to get a major victory for Badd Company. With Missy Hyatt leading the way , Badd Company look to be headed right to the top of the Pacific Coast tag rankings. Eddie Gilbert vs. Joe Dowdle With the influx of new wrestlers to Pacific Coast, one looking to distinguish himself from the crowd is young "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert. The son of southern veteran Tommy Gilbert, Eddie had a very distinct charisma that quickly won over the crowd with his sparky personality and easy dominance of Dowdle. After finishing off Dowdle with a move he called the Hot Shot (hoisting Dowdle on his shoulder and dropping him throat first on the top rope) , Gilbert took time to shake hands and share a few laughs with the fans at ringside. A solid debut, but time will tell how he will be able to work his way through the crowded Pacific Coast rankings. The Crazy Gang vs. Billy Jack Haynes, Texas Red & Ricky Steamboat At first , it seemed like business as usual for the ongoing feud between the Crazy Gang and Haynes' crew. The match wound up taking a shocking turn as someone made their way to ringside, grabbed Steamboat, and yanked him hard off the ring apron and to the floor. It was The Magnificent One, Don Muraco, who had not been seen in this promotion before! He lifted up the surprised Steamboat with ease and drove him down into the floor with a nasty Belly To Belly Piledriver. At first, the Crazy Gang seemed as surprised as everyone else, but they quickly took advantage, and while Billy Jack tended to his unconscious partner, the Gang triple teamed Texas Red with impunity. Rude hit his patented Rude Awakening neckbreaker followed by a top rope legdrop by Schultz and the tainted victory went to the Crazy Gang. But the big news of the match was the appearance by Muraco and his devastating Pearl Harbour job on Steamboat. Pacific Coast Television Title Match : Terry Taylor © vs. Chris Adams Last week, Chris Adams made his shocking return to Pacific Coast Wrestling to challenge for Terry Taylor's TV Title. Taylor turned tail and fled at the end of that match, and Adams was given an immediate rematch. Taylor was once again accompanied by Jake Roberts, but Adams was clearly determined not to let the Snake draw his attention from his goal of winning the title. Adams was all over Taylor for most of this match, with the champion barely getting a chance to catch his breath against the relentless attack of the Gentleman. Adams managed to nail Taylor with the Superkick, but didn't get a chance to capitalize as Roberts rushed into the ring and take him down with a big kneelift. The ref quickly called for a DQ, but that didn't seem to matter to Taylor and Roberts as they put the boots to Adams. It looked like they were set to put an end to Adams challenge permanently as Roberts set up Adams for a DDT on the title belt, when out of nowhere, all of the lights in the arena went out. After a few seconds of stunned darkness, the lights went back on , and Roberts and Taylor were shocked to see a stranger in the ring. He was a black haired man with white martial arts slacks and white facepaint with black Japanese lettering. The stranger took Roberts down with a spin kick that forced him to let go of Adams, then hit another one that sent Taylor flying out of the ring. As Taylor and Roberts ran back to the locker room, the stranger helped up the puzzled Adams and bowed to him. The lights went out again, and when they came back on , the stranger had gone, leaving Adams and the fans trying to puzzle out what exactly had just happened. The Fabulous Freebirds vs. The Guerrero Brothers With Terry Gordy winning the Pacific Coast Heavyweight Title at San Diego Battleground, the Fabulous Freebirds have looked pretty much unstoppable. They certainly didn't seem to be taking the Guerreros seriously in this match, but that proved to be a severe mistake. The three brothers have been wrestling together their whole lives, and managed to consistently be one step ahead of the Freebirds throughout the match. When the champ, Terry Gordy, was in the ring, he was still able to dominate, but even then the Guerreros lessened the damage by using hit and run tactics and quickly tagging in and out of the ring. The turning point in the match came when Mando hit Gordy with a full force tackle that sent them both bowling out of the ring. Hector quickly charged in to tie up Hayes, and Chavo took down Roberts with a dropkick before coming off the top rope with a flying somersault senton for the pinfall. The Guerreros scored a major upset over the Freebirds, and from the looks of things, all of them are aiming for a shot at Gordy's Heavyweight title.

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver, on ESPN / TSN , January 3rd The Thundercats vs. Steven Morris, Dave Cruser & Aaron Reisberger The newly rebranded Pacific Coast Wrestling has promised an exciting New Year full of great new talent, and they are certainly kicking off in style with a team who have dubbed themselves the Thundercats. They consist of "Lethal" Larry Cameron, a stern but powerful former linebacker from Harlem; Normal Smiley, a charismatic British technical and submission specialist; and Too Cold Scorpio, a dynamic aerialist hailing from Denver, Colorado. They really got the crowd going as Cameron easily overpowered all of their opponents, Smiley outclassed them on the mat, and Scorpio showed off his dazzling high flying moves. After Cameron clotheslined both Reisberger and Cruser out of the ring, Smiley hoisted Morris up in a vertical suplex while Scorpio came off the top rope with a flying body press in a move they call the Thunderplex, putting an end to the match. This thrilling young trio are kicking off the New Year in fine style. The Royal Family vs. Leo Burke & Bam Bam Bigelow Leo Burke had a lot of trouble with the Royal Family last year, and has gone for a rather unusual solution. He has brought in Bam Bam Bigelow, a rambunctious New Jersey fireball with an unusual look, to both mentor and partner against the tough Antipodeans. Jonathan Boyd and Rip Morgan didn't seem to take Bigelow seriously at first, but learned to their chagrin that he was not somebody to be overlooked. Bigelow got the better of them in a number of power exchanges and even did cartwheels around them to mock them. The Royals battled back hard , even administering some vicious shots when they had him trapped in their corner, but Bigelow kept bouncing back. Things wound up breaking down with both teams brawling outside and Bigelow squashing Boyd with a running splash, and the end result was a double count out. Regardless, these two teams are not done with each other by a long shot. Badd Company vs. Spencer Duhm & Jerry Sims Badd Company is another hot young team newly arrived in the Pacific Coast, with the gifted second generation wrestler Pat Tanaka paired up with the athletic former pro soccer player Paul Diamond. Many of the fans eyes were drawn to their manager, Missy Hyatt, a vivacious and curvaceous blonde woman who cheered on her men with great enthusiasm from ringside. While their opponents may have been distracted by the stunning Ms. Hyatt, Badd Company remained laser focused on the match, dissecting their opposition with blinding speed. Duhm and Sims never really got in the match, as Tanaka's martial arts expertise and Diamond's precision dropkicks knocked them around the ring. Diamond ultimately took out Sims by thrust kicking him into a German suplex by Tanaka. So far, Missy Hyatt's confidence in her young charges seem to be quite well founded. Pacific Coast Light Heavyweight Title Match : Keiichi Yamada © vs. Tracy Smothers Yamada was coming off winning the Light Heavy title at San Diego Battleground and has promised that he would face all comers in defending the belt, but even he seemed by his first challenger. After he had been taken out on a stretcher at the hands of the Marauders, nobody thought they would see Tracy Smothers in Pacific Coast Wrestling, but he is back and clearly determined to prove that he is at 100%. He certainly came out aggressively with hard punches and kicks as well as adding a certain edge to all of his moves. Yamada was both surprised and impressed and fired back with his own tougher shots. What resulted was a very intense match, with Smothers at several points looking like he just might pull of the upset and gain the title. He did at one point have Yamada lined up for the Jawjacker, but Yamada ducked it right at the last second. Yamada swiftly rolled him up in the Natural Bridge, but Smothers was able to get his foot on the ropes just in the nick of time. Both men were going at it when the bell rang, signaling a 15 minute TV time limit draw. Yamada was sufficiently impressed that he helped Smothers to his feet at the end of the match, before bowing and raising his arm as a show of respect. Smothers in turn shook Yamada's hand . Tracy Smothers is back and is looking better than ever. The Vice Squad vs. Mikey Bortone, Joel Anderson & Chet Welch Another new group looking to make an impact on Pacific Coast Wrestling are the Vice Squad, who didn't make a great impression on the fans with their golden robes and overall air of smugness. Their members included a pair of rough and ready East Coast brawlers in Brian Knobs and Jack Victory, as well as a seedy looking Floridian named Jim Backlund who nevertheless displayed impressive moves as well as some ring savvy. The trio bullied their opposition over the ring before polishing off Welch with a combination of a powerslam by Knobs and a flying legdrop by Backlund, which they call the Vice Raid. They might not be interested in winning over the fans, but they certainly have the skills to win matches. Pacific Coast Television Title Match : Terry Taylor © vs. ?? ?? Taylor came to the ring accompanied by his mentor, Jake "The Snake" Roberts and demanded the ringside microphone. He started by saying that Tom Zenk had gotten his one and only shot at his title at San Diego Battleground, and since he had been unable to win the title within the time limit provided, no more title shots would be forth coming. He then said that the Pacific Coast Wrestling matchmakers were a bunch of cowards for putting him in a match with an unnamed opponent, but since he had easily defeated everyone who had challenged for his title so far, he was certainly not afraid of anyone they threw against him tonight. He maintained the same cocky smirk right up until the music kicked in, playing "Let's See Action" by The Who over the PA … and "Gentleman" Chris Adams raced to the ring! Adams had been gone from Pacific Coast for 6 months after losing a Loser Leaves Town Match, but now the terms of that contract had expired and he was free to make his return. Taylor's confidence dissolved into raw panic as Adams tore at him with kicks and punches, tossing him across the mat with judo throws and suplexes. Taylor tried in vain to backpedal and stall for time, but Adams just kept coming right at him. Roberts finally chose to get involved by grabbing the TV title belt with one arm, then reaching into the ring with another and forcibly pulling Taylor out of the ring. The two then fled to the locker room, leading to a countout win for Adams where the title did not change hands. Taylor can run from Adams all he wants, but something tells me that, sooner or later, the Gentleman will catch up with him.
