[1999-08-28-ECW-TV] Dudley Boys vs Spike Dudley & Balls Mahoney
This was bloated at points but it did feel like a fitting blowoff and was a pretty insane brawl to end this whole feud and send the Dudleys packing to Stamford. The Dudley's do continue to get a lot of offense over on especially SPike. The spot through the flaming table especially was brutal and really put over ECW as an alternative product on a national network. I am glad to see Balls and Spike pick up the win. ***1/2

[1999-08-28-OVW-TV] Rob Conway vs Damaja
OVW continues to get slightly better each week as I actually care about Damaja now where I didn't at all a couple of weeks ago. Fun brawl that while it was reminiscent of Memphis, it still was hate filled.

[1999-08-28-NJPW-Jingu Climax] Yuji Nagata & Manabu Nakanishi vs Michiyoshi Ohara & Tatsutoshi Goto
Nakanishi continues his big push and I can't understand why. This felt like Nagata and three insufficient guys having a sub-par match.

Mystery Titans Theatre
Damn, you guys are going at too fast a clip. I just finished the first one this morning. Holy crap was the action bad although I did think Parv was too tough on Mac Rivera. The Baron was also royally screwed in the first contest and Big John Studd rose up my ranks quickly of laziest wrestler of all time.

[1999-08-27-ECW-TNN] Joey Styles and former ECW wrestlers
Joey pushing Roller Jam. He goes down a list of guys that never won the ECW title. This came off as desperate.

I was pumped for both ECW and Monster Jam afterwards as we didn't get ECW tv where I lived.

[1999-08-26-WWF-Smackdown] The Rock vs HHH
Is this Nitro? We get a turn for the sake of a turn and I don't remember this being spoken about at Judgement Day 2000. HHH is able to win after the HBK assist.

[1999-08-26-WWF-Smackdown] Stephanie McMahon and Test / Mankind vs Shane McMahon
Shane having custom shirts is cool. Steph wanted this to be right so that makes me ponder what the problem was Monday if she just says yes now. Mankind and Shane are having their match right now and Shane is being overexposed here a good bit. STeph gets violent a bit on Pete Gas and her and Test flee. HHH and Chyna come out to run interference and four days after Mankind pinned the world champion, he is beaten by Shane McMahon.

[1999-08-25-FMW-Goodbye Hayabusa II] Hayabusa vs Mr Gannosuke
What an amazing, draining match. I felt like my journey with FMW has climaxed with this. Hayabusa was someone I have been unsure of warming up to but he was great here with his huge highspots. Gannosuke is one of my favorite personalities for the year and his cut offs were very effective throughout the match. There was a ton of stuff in this match and a ton of nearfalls but they milked each one to the max and I was on the edge of my seat for the final ten minutes. That post match angle is also an all-timer and a wonderful piece of business. All hail 1999 FMW. ****3/4

Most promotions you've followed at one time
Guessing 2002 actually: 1. ROH 2. WWE 3. CZW 4. IWA-MS 5. NOAH I received almost everything from those five promotions for that year, by the next year WWE was off the grid and NOAH was more sporadic. By 2004, it was down to ROH almost exclusively as I went through my longest lull as a fan. Will be nice to hear some of the older fans in the heyday of the territory days. I vaguely remember the huge Saturday night Pedicino time slot but only really was watching WCW and WWF as a kid that I can recollect.

[1999-08-25-AJPW-Summer Action Series II] Mitsuharu Misawa & Yoshinari Ogawa vs Yoshihiro Takayama & Takao Omori
My favorite discovery of the stuff I watched in prep for the set. No Fear has a big win under their belt so they start off the match showing..... NO Fear. I especially loved the added dickish strikes Takayama would throw Misawa's way. Ogawa gets targeted throughout the match and is seen as the weak link without a doubt. The finishing stretch was exciting and even in defeat, this match shows how elevated up the cards No Fear was becoming. The Takayama vs. Misawa match was ok but disappointing given the level of hate they showed here. **** 1/4

[1999-08] Vince McMahon on Entertainment Tonight
Ivory has some nasty words for Sable. HHH's hat is grounds for a lawsuit for burning my eye socket. Vince saying that he is going after NBC is amusing for two reasons. 1) NBC will do the XFL in just a little over a year and 2) this shows that while wrestling was still at its peak popularity wise, it was still a long way from other forms of pop culture like Friends.

[1999-08-23-WWF-Raw] HHH vs Mankind
I thought this was fine as a way for HHH to win his first title. Shane was pretty minimal in his involvement and he plastered both Mick and rock with chairs.

[1999-08-23-WWF-Raw] Howard Finkel, Road Dogg and Chris Jericho
Fink can be humorous but him as Ralphus 2.0 is not what I think Jericho needed coming into the promotion. This also showed me how new the audience was as Warriors music got no reaction at all from the crowd.

[1999-08-23-WWF-Raw] Test and Stephanie McMahon
I have to treat this as a pretty big dis to Test as Steph didn't seem to want to rush to marriage at all.
