[1993-09-27-WWF-Raw] WWF commercial
This was so bad and dumb. No idea what they were going for or clamoring to.

[1993-09-26-NJPW-G1 Climax Special] Hiroshi Hase vs Shinya Hashimoto
Agree that this could have easily have been a MOTYC given both guys resumes for the year and this was only merely really good IMO. Hase gets some quick leg work but then amps it up and starts going after Hashimoto with great aggression and his usual awesome submissions. We then also get an exciting finishing stretch that shows that Hash is still the man int he promotion overall and really feels like the guy that will have to be the final blow to Tenryu. ***1/2

[1993-09-26-NJPW-G1 Climax Special] Masa Chono vs Yoshiaki Fujiwara
This was a shame we didn't get around 7-8 minutes more. Chono finally shows so fire which is got out of him by Fujiwara. Fuji was really awesome here just being relentless in going after the cut and every opening Chono allows him. Then we get a headbutt vs. Yakuza kick exchange with Chono coming out on top and that is that. Real shame. ***

[1993-09-25-USWA-TV] Tommy Rich vs Jeff Jarrett (Cage)
That cage was pretty awful. Action was fine in this but fairly brief. Finish as explained above was incredibly clever and well done. *1/2

[1993-09-25-USWA-TV] Interview: Jerry Lawler
A nice racist parting shot to Tatanka and the WWF vs. USWA feud still seems to be raging but I don't know how much legs it will still have as we get deeper into the fall.

[1993-09-25-WWF-Superstars] Jim Cornette, Yokozuna and The Undertaker
This really showed that the money stuff was still mostly on Superstars as this was great and dramatic. I loved how it was played up and the face to face really felt like a battle of the titans. I think it helped Yoko's cred tremendously here that he didn't back down.

[1993-09-25-WWF-Superstars] Ludvig Borga vignette
Milk and honey was a nice line to throw back at the good ol USA face. Borga is not really likable at all.

[1993-09-24-AAA-Sin Limite] Villano III vs Rambo (Mask vs Hair)
Awesome apuestas match. Rambo dominates the first fall, Villano gets the quick pin in the second and the third is full of dramatic greatness. Both of the blade jobs here really added to the drama and we had some amazing near falls. The post match was also fun and the finish was clever. Villano III really excels in the big matches we have of his on tape. ****1/4

[1993-09-24-NJPW-G1 Climax Special] Keiji Muto vs Hiroshi Hase
A match I struggled with as Hase really did a great job of twisting around and doing a multitude of different things to make things interesting but Muto wasn't there to add much except some flash and to really run through the finishing stretch. Hase feels like one of the best workers of the world right now and is really rising up my ranks every time I see him. One of these matches where the match overall isn't great but HE is great in this. ***1/2

Your "So So Good" Top 100 Matches of All Time
Swell list Elliott. One match I want to rewatch is Final Conflict with both you and Tim having it on your respective lists. I remember in the early infancy of WTBBP thinking it was a great Sarge performance and had some big spots that played off the blowoff to the feud but also had some annoying moments like the lack of cage work in the early beginning. Still gave the match ***3/4 or so but it is one of the few matches on the top 100 list like these where I am a bit perplexed that it has placed for some people based on my feelings.

[1999-08-09-WCW-Nitro] Interview: Hulk Hogan
Im going to defend this. Sure, there was opportunity to present other talent on top at this point but after the atrocious stuff we have seen in June and July, it at least is refreshing to see something new with Hogan being a face again and it getting a proper reaction. The retirement stips feel tacked on for Road Wild though.

[1999-08-07-ECW-TV] Taijiri vs Little Guido
Match actually disappointed me. Maybe I am just looking for more depth in these matches, but they seem like exaggerated sprints in the sense of great matches with a developing storyline. Tajiri is someone I really like given his charisma and move set but so far his offerings on the yearbook haven't convinced me he is one of the best wrestlers of the world in 1999, maybe a deep dive into the fancams helps build that case. Anyway, the match was fun while it lasted. **1/2 The post match however was great in my mind with good swerves, some legit creepy moments after Tajiri sprays Francine and Taz saving the day to a monster pop. One of the freshest, engaging ECW angles in a while.

[1999-08-07-MPPW-TV] Kevin Christian and Doug Gilbert
Doug starts to throw out some worked shoot comments here I guess telling Kevin he doesn't like his father or brother. Christian is interesting in this role and feels like an evolved version of Randy Hales as heel the prior year. The Tracy stuff is good and I always welcome Smothers on my screen.
