Loss list could sound a bit confusing. Anyway, I read through this and it shows the incredible depth of Rey's run in the WWE and also that there is still matches I really enjoy not on this list like the No Way Out 2006 Orton match and the SmackDown I Quit vs. Chavo. -

This was an epic war and should have been what the 6/6/97 Misawa vs. Kawada match should have been. I was completely engrossed. There isn't a lot to write about this match except it was two legends duking it out from the onset and not backing down one inch. I loved Hashimoto winning with the DDT that he went for throughout the match and used successfully. One of the best, simple straight bomb throwing matches I have ever seen. These types of matches are all dependent on the situation and the competitors for me and these two guys certainly deserved to have a match like this and it felt perfectly into their overall arc together. I liked this a good deal more than Loss which surprises me since Kosh and Chono are usually my least favorite big name New Japan guys and their feud as a whole is one I have seen praised but I have always been cold on it. This felt like a really good rudimentary match with Koshinaka taking the opening stanza until Chono takes over going after the leg. The leg work Chono did was well done to me and I especially liked him clipping Kosh on the Butt Butt attempt. I do wish the finish would have played more into the layout of the match but this felt like a good submission victory for Chono. (***1/4)

I may have liked this a tad better than Loss but it was a mess that was way too long. Probably up there with the Night the Line was Crossed three way as the most epic 90's matches that are complete dog shit when rewatching. They tried a lot here but botched a good bit as well and never had any focus. If you cut this down to a two minute highlight package it would be salvagable but as a whole 55 minute segment, it was the toughest thing for me to sit through in 1998 so far. (*3/4)

I'm starting to really like the feud between these two. Tenryu's punches were super and the build to the big spots on the outside were teased throughout. This match had nothing to do with speed but was all about what was performed in the match and the emphasis each move was placed on. Finish was perplexing and takes this down slightly but I thought this was a good appetizer for the G-1 action coming up featuring Tenryu. (***3/4)

The beer moment was cool and JR put it over well on commentary. Again, I don't want to feel like Im railing on these guys but this shows how insignificant the NAO really were as this would be touted as them carrying the tag division and they get jobbed out pretty good here against the make shift team even though it is two major stars.

Vince had been laying low for a few weeks now but he is on fire now first with the Taker stuff and now running Sable down. I love that he stood up to her and really built to the ungrateful bitch line. This allowed Sable to get over huge when she flicked Vince off and stripped to her bikini. Really awesome segment with everyone firing at their full strengths.

Pretty good triple threat and I appreciate XPac being definite when he needs to against HHH. These long, signature tv matches are a welcome change of pace into the "attitude era had no good tv matches" narrative. Rock looked clever as hell bailing while they fought to hang on to the belt. (**1/4)

Appreciated Bart still being announced as a MX member. JR did do a professional job calling this shocking result in retrospect. Doc was cooked once he injured his leg.

Taker wonts an apology and says him and Austin will never be partners. Vince comes out to enormous heat and his logic was pretty sound on Taker and Kane still being in cohoots with each other. Austin comes out to a huge pop too and his apology for Taker is the result of the double bird. These guys have to tag up vs. the NAO tonight.

My favorite under the radar feud from WCW. I really enjoyed Page's punches and flurries in this match and just how much Hogan wrestled this match as a weasel heel. He did nothing admirable during the whole match which made for an admirable performance in such a quick match. Shout out to him calling Brutus on the outside. NWO run in was going to happen but Page looked strong having the Diamond Cutter on a laid out Hogan in the ring. Wolfpac battles with them and here comes Goldberg to clean house while Nash looks on. I did like Giant chokeslamming him as the show went off the air.

I am with you Loss in that this feud really was built well with a semblance of hate but I almost got a feeling of lets get this over with already to this match. Jericho and Dean also are able to convey their roles superbly outside of the ring but still struggle inside the ring to get over their respective hatred and cowardice. The DQ does work on some level in that Dean knocked out Jericho but he gets the last laugh but I am split on that. Also, this really should have headlined the show or had a bigger role. (**1/2)

Lawler was freaking awful during this. That said, I would have no trouble putting this as the best five minute match of all time. Stiff shots, using the unique environment to the advantage of the match and some good escapes and merging of shoot and pro wrestling style. The finish was somewhat cheap but a clever way for Owen to win his home match while keeping Shamrock strong. (***1/2)

I really liked this and think it is the gratuitous visual of Honma that puts it over the top. This has some lets walk around the arena aspects that I loathe and I don't know if the Korakuen balcony tease was common or rare around this time as the crowd popped big for it. The barbed wire crown of thrones was incredibly tough not to make religious parallels too. WX looked better here than in most stuff I have seen of him being able to show some intensity for his damage instead of just doing hardcore spots. I probably like death match garbage wrestling more than most but I appreciated the story here to carry this match over the top. (****)

I also thought this was a lot of fun while it lasted for the studio crowd. It made we want and hope for a series of these four could have happened in IWA-MS or something. I had no idea who the guys running in where as it feels like one of those buffer Memphis feuds to bide the time. (**1/2)

Really long tag match where I got a MX vs.. RNR vibe from in the structure with the faces getting a long SHINE and then a huge FIP segment. It drug at points but it was admirable seeing this type of tag worked on the indies and mixing in athletic spots likes Jeff's dive to the outside that got the crowd going crazy. Venom also wiped out huge on a dive from the top. I didn't love chunks of this match but I really appreciated the work going into it and thought it was really good overall and kept my attention for the durations. (***1/2)
