[1991-09-29-WCW-Main Event] Steve Austin vs Big Josh
I didn't like this very much. Tony solo on commentary is weird and he keeps building up to the Josh dropkick. The work here was fine but very rudimentary and the match never seemed to kick into an extra gear.

[1991-09-28-WWF-Superstars] Tito Santana vignette
One of the more perplexing character changes I can recall seeing with the way they try desperately to draw out the analogy of being a matador with being a wrestler.

Brad and Chad's WrestleMania Rewind Special - Ranking the WrestleManias
WM 26 has one great match IMO (Taker vs. Shawn II). That is counteracted by one straight up atrocious match. The rest features a lot of decent to good stuff (Edge vs. Jericho, Batista vs. Cena, HHH vs. Sheamus) but also some lesser stuff (weakest MITB IMO, Punk vs. Rey got cut short). Still a good to very good show overall but I couldn't put a WM that had the worst WM match of all time in my top 25%.

Brad and Chad's WrestleMania Rewind Special - Ranking the WrestleManias
Will be interested to hear some different opinions to the list we built here. I do think it is a very unconventional list in a lot of ways but kind of felt "right" by the time we hashed out everything.

Inoffensive but nothing I could remember within an hour and the match didn't really have an overlying theme to make it memorable.

[1991-09-23-FMW-2nd Anniversary Show] Atsushi Onita vs Tarzan Goto (Barbed Wire Cage Bomb)
This was one of my favorite matches by Onita just based on the gravity everything was played up. The staredown was epic and the first count felt as dramatic as the last and I don't mean that as a knock. This was an emotional fifteen minute ride with Onita receiving a ton of punishment and firing back like only he can. Really super stuff.

[1991-09-21-TWA-Autumn Armageddon] Terry Funk vs Kevin Sullivan
This had a lot going on and was a sprint brawl for the 15 minutes it lasted. Sullivan played to his strengths of being a wandering brawler with some neat tendencies like the hammer bit. Woman taking the spinning toe hold did feel like a redemption spot. Funk was in rare form flipping the bird and cussing up a storm. Im not sure if the match was good but it was entertaining.

[1991-09-21-WCW-Saturday Night] Barry Windham vs Mr Hughes / Barry Windham and Lex Luger
I was really impressed with this match. hughes works it so well that I really felt they could have built up to a cool triple main event at Havoc with Windham/Hughes, Cactus/Sting, and Simmons/Luger and it would have worked. The dropkick and figure four was especially impressive. Barry has really had a solid 1991 with the Pillman feud and now this. Heated match with juice coming out.

[1991-09-21-USWA-Memphis TV] Dutch Mantell vignette / Interview: Billy Joe Travis / Dutch Mantell, Eric Embry & Eddie Marlin
Dutch again is waiting on Hansen and I agree its still humorous but starting to run out of steam. Billy Joe continues to win my heart over with his singing getting malicious boos and him just slamming the guitar over the jobbers head. The Embry/Dutch interaction is great especially with Dave Brown interjecting in his facts and adding fuel to the fire. This predictably simmers over with Tojo attacking Dutch with the flag. Eddie Marlin comes out to call for order and we get some more sprawling brawls with most of the USWA roster. The attack on Marlin is really good and he looks shaken up at the end. I love Eddie Marlin and am glad that USWA is on an upswing.
