[1991-07-30-UWFi-Moving On 4] Kazuo Yamazaki vs Billy Scott
I liked this well enough but it felt inconsequential and Scott didn't show a whole lot besides great fire. On the lower end of the spectrum of the shootstyle matches that have made the yearbooks.

[1991-07-29-USWA] Jeff Jarrett & Robert Fuller vs Bar Room Brawlers
I don't even know what that tall wood thing was supposed to be. Looked kind of like a ticket booth. This has a grainy feel to it and is from a distance so you see a lot of plunder being used but don't get the intense close ups. The action was definitely fun but preventive based on the footage available. MOrrell going rogue at the end also didn't make sense to me.

[1991-07-29-NJPW-Summer Crush] Keiji Muto & Masa Chono vs Big Van Vader & Bam Bam Bigelow
Vader and bam Bam are a really good team that work as monsters but give the opponents enough offense to make them look credible. KNowing what is to come in the G-1, I was a little weary of Muto/Chono losing here but as a way to get over Vader/Bam Bam as a tag it was effective. The finish is especially hot and all of the power moves by Vader looked great. Fun stuff heading into an exciting month for NJPW.

I liked this as an aftermath promo for the GAB. Race paired with Luger is one I like.

[1991-07-27-WCW-Pro] Steve Austin vs Yellow Dog
The music is ridiculous but Pillman does at least look different and wrestle a little different to try to get the gimmick over. Austin has looked a little more uncertain so far in his early WCW tenure than he did at the end of his USWA run. The match was fan but meandered too much and there was a lack of focus from Austin. INterested to see if the Havoc match is the first time Steve puts it together for the first time in WCW.

Hiroshi Tanahashi
I would rank their series thus far: 1. October 2013 2. February 2012 3. April 2013 4. August 2013 5. June 2012 6. January 2013 Been thinking about digging into some 2006-2010 Tanahashi since he seems topical and I havent revisited most of that stuff since it occurred.

[1991-07-27-WWF-Superstars] Summerslam Report
Tickets are still on sale a month out. Gene saying from nuptials to napalm without skipping a beat is amazing journalistic work. We get some more analogies about Hogan relating everything to war while Warrior does some mannerisms I don' even know how to describe. They are putting Hart over as a viable challenger and Gene calls him a mechanic which I dont know what that means but I guess its a testament on his technical ability. Dibiase and Virgil each give good but generic promos. Overall the card is shaping well besides the match made in hell for me.

[1991-07-26-CMLL] Los Brazos vs Eddy & Mando & Chavo Guerrero
I really wanted this to be great and it just didn't quite make it. The Brazo's were more serious but the match overall didn't hold my attention at time. The third fall had the more traditional spots but did include a great dive train so kudos for that. Very good match but there was a great match in there fighting to get out and it just never did.

[1997-05-25-FMW] Atsushi Onita & W*ING Kanemura & Hido vs Masato Tanaka & Tetsuhiro Kuroda & Koji Nakagawa (Barbed Wire)
I wasnt too crazy about this also and am still looking for that blow away death match from 1997. The action here was ok and sustainable throughout the amount of time given but it felt very much like a been here seen that situation especially with Onita winning at the end.

[1997-05-24-ECW-TV] Tommy Dreamer & Terry Funk vs Raven & Stevie Richards
Stevie and Raven are tag partners and Stevie gets a pin on the world champion which is an advancement. Rest of the match was nothing special.

Where the Big Boys Play #53
Great analysis of the main event, I do wonder how banged up Sting was here and they feel sort of handcuffed in that something had to give after the Luger non-finishes. Thanks for the comments as always Brad.

Where the Big Boys Play #53
Just looked Sonya up on google, gotta love early 90's cable talk shows. Interesting take on the Southern Boys tag. I am always intrigued by people that place a good emphasis on positioning on the card and the placement of the combatants. It is not something I usually implore but I fully admit that my top end matches in history are all main events so it is a viewpoint I can see. Always love your thoughts on the episodes, makes any time commitment doing the show worthwhile.

Most boring wrestler of all time?
Crush is a great answer. I'm tempted to say the Warlord but damn if he isnt really good in that 1/15/90 Rockers tag and I have a soft spot for the Davey Boy feud.

WON HOF 2013 discussion
I would be interested Rich if you agree with the top five big match worker claim? Apologies if you mentioned it on the podcast, but I know you have really enjoyed the New Japan stuff this year so I was wondering where Tanahashi compares for you historically.

PWO Critics Guild Hall of Fame
1. Let me think about it although I'm inclined to say that no one should get in based on workrate alone. This kills two birds with one stone (less subjective opinion weight and NO BENOIT). I also am conflicted on the non wrestler portion. 2. I would limit this to around 10-20 guys 3. The biggest no brainers in wrestling history (Londos, Rock, Santo, Hogan, Flair, Bruno) etc. 4. I would keep the 10-20 added per year.
