[1991-05-11-USWA-Memphis TV] Eddie Gilbert vs Eric Embry / Interview: Eddie Gilbert
Does feel like a bait and switch for the fans with how much they built up the match last week. DWB also hasn't been away for long enough to counteract feeling cheated. However, Eddie Gilbert continues his fantastic work with his promo here talking about how DWB was family and how he has pissed that all away. Im glad Eddie doesn't act like last year didn't happen as he references the Memphis mafia.

[1991-05-04-USWA-Memphis TV] Interview: Eric Embry
Shame the match didn't make ESPn as it looked like a bloody mess. I love gloating Embry promos and this wan no exception.

[1991-05-11-WWF-Superstars] Irwin R. Schyster vignette / Big Bossman and The Mountie
I was glad to see IRS mention the wrestlers cheating on their taxes. I know Boss Man throughout his run had a good many heel tendencies but damn he was a bully in this match and then wants to handcuff the poor dude. Mounties walk to the ring was gloriously smug and the taser effect is completely ridiculous.

[1991-05-11-WWF-Superstars] Update: Slick has as much luck as Sherri
As a 2 minute clip this was fine. Slick is looking a little worse for wear and they found a unique premise to humiliate each manager.

[1991-05-10-UWFi-Moving On 1] Kiyoshi Tamura vs Masahito Kakihara
These guys were definitely hungry and cut a tremendous pace to have a very good match. The action was slick and gritty and the strikes and moves at the end were stiff as hell.

[1991-05-06-NJPW-Dream Win III] Jushin Liger vs Hiroshi Hase
Fantastic match from two of my favorite guys to watch right now. The mat work was really great and we had a lot of payback spots between the two. I like that Hase took a more grounded approach and threw bombs to counteract the high octane offense of Liger. Handheld was awesome.

[1991-05-06-FMW] Atsushi Onita vs Mr Pogo (Exploding Barbed Wire Death)
It is weird to say but this deathmatch needed more action. They teased up the explosions with good struggle but the end results felt a little anticlimatic even though the explosions looked really good. I also didn't sense Onita overcame enough in the end even with him going through the first two explosions.

My Latest Insane Project
That is about what I figured and my enjoyment of the match would look like a straight sloping supply curve as the longer it went, the more annoyed I got. Around the 22 minute mark, Elgin did a few things like punching Alexander on the ear and I was hoping it would go that way into a gritty finish our courageous comeback but it was not to be. I do think both Elgin and Alexander are good workers (especially Alexander as he is usually a big monster and this was one of the more "indyrific" matches he has been in).

[1991-05-04-USWA-Memphis TV] Interview: Eddie Marlin / Interview: Eddie Gilbert
Marlin comes out to explain the rules of the match so everyone is on the same page. Gilbert then gives the match the hard sale. Good work by two pros.

JvK's tour of the South
Day of Game SEC Tickets will be available. If it is a huge game with two highly touted teams, take out a second mortgage; if it is an SEC team vs. Cupcake, expect face to be available, and if its two lower ranked sec vs. sec teams, about double face value seems apprpriate.

[1991-05-03-CMLL] Los Brazos vs El Dandy & Popitekus & Super Astro
Kind of agree with Pete. This was charming but I have liked other Brazo efforts more than this one. I did like seeing Dandy re emerge but it was sad to see that he kind of felt like a bit piece. Popitekus was my highlight as he had great agility for someone his size flying around in this one. Fun stuff but didn't quite hit the entire mark with me.
