[1990-11-10-WWF-Superstars] Legion of Doom vs Orient Express
Match was ok but mainly featured good bumping by the Express and was short. Beatdown was good from execution standpoint but it is weird to see the LOD this beaten down especially compared to the stuff I am watching from Crockett right now. Show going off the air with beatdown ensuing seems weird for WWF>

[1990-11-05-FMW-1st Anniversary Show] Atsushi Onita vs Mr Pogo
Loss description of this match may be one of my favorite descriptions of all time for a match. I thought this was a good solid overcoming the odds type match for Onita and I agree that the evolution of him and the company as a whole has been fun to watch with the snippets we have seen.

[1990-11-03-USWA-Memphis TV] Eddie Gilbert celebration
Pretty deep locker room. Gaylord is indeed the highlight of the background eating a whole cake by himself and mugging. Eddie does a great celebration party and Marlin is outraged. I also enjoyed the names they dropped in as contenders. Beatdown of Brickhouse was well done and set things up for later on in the show. Super fun segment all around.

[1990-11-03-WWF-Superstars] Ted DiBiase vs Dustin Rhodes
I may have been tired but I was pretty disappointed in this match. I know the story is that Dibiase is overconfident but why even with the announcer saying 8 minutes have expired is he still mugging for the crowd. The action was decent I was just hoping for more and I love Dustin comebacks.

[1990-11-03-WWF-Superstars] Brother Love: Bobby Heenan
This was way over the top but worked pretty well for me. Love selling the neck was really well done.

[1991-05-17-PWA] Lightning Kid vs Jerry Lynn
This was my favorite match of the three and a great match overall. Awesome series that I was shocked to discover how good the matches still were.

Sting vs. Lex Luger
Only argument I can see being made for Sting will bring in too many other intangibles like how recognizable he was and how cool his 1997 run was and the Starrcade buyrate. I am biased towards Sting naturally (honestly my third favorite wrestler as a kid behind Hogan and Jake). Sting had great matches vs. Vader, some good matches vs. Flair, and then a sprinkling of other good stuff like the Cactus match, the DDP 1999 match, etc. Luger had some great matches with Flair, some great tag matches w/ Windham vs. Arn/Tully and then a fairly wide sample of other good stuff vs. Windham, Steamboat, Rich, etc.

The Rockers
The Rockers vs. Hart Foundation (Ft. Wayne 10/30/90) This match will break up the chronological track I had been running down up to this point but this match is not on my Rockers compilation. This match also has a few unique factors going for it. 1. It is 2 out of 3 falls 2. It was taped for SNME that never occurred 3. The version I saw had no commentary 4. In the 2nd fall, the top rope breaks off on one side of the ring 5. The crowd is awful and barely cheers 6. It is the match of the phantom title change for the Rockers Mixing in all of these mitigating circumstances, I thought this was a fabulous match. This thread is looking back at the Rockers but I would be remiss to not take a moment to talk about how great Bret Hart was in the first two falls of this match. I have always really liked Bret in face vs. face matches in that he works the match slightly different but still displays aggression towards his opponent. No hugging in the middle of the ring MMA bullshit when Bret wrestles another face. This work was really on display in the first fall and the second fall features him keeping everything together when the rope breaks and adapting some of his signature spots. He also kind of botches the ending to this match but overall a great performance for him. I especially enjoyed the first two falls of this match. It being face vs. face, there is less emphasis on many of the traditional tag moments I have seen in the Rockers matches so far. We also got quite a bit more mat wrestling than is customary. Anvil was used as a powerhouse effectively and both Shawn and Marty did a good job trying their best to avoid his powerful shots. The work with the ring rope breaking was creative and gritty. The ending while kind of looking bad is a good feel good moment in Rockers history. Right now this is neck and neck with the POP match as my favorite Rockers match.

Top Ten U.S. All Time
I really like early IWA-MS Necro from 2001-2003 era. He had some good battle with Ian Rotten. The drunken death match vs. Corporal Robinson from the TPI in 2002 is one of those "it could only happen in pro wrestling" things. Another match I would highly recommend is vs. Toby Klein at the KOTDM 2004.
