[1990-09-01-WWF-Superstars] Brother Love: Rick Martel
The Brother Love look alike is awesome. I liked the Models suit and the hair is in a ponytail. Model sets the seeds for the Jake feud after Bad News has exited.

[1990-09-01-AJW] Aja Kong vs Bull Nakano (Cage)
I agree with Pete. I know this angle essentially gets driven out to Dream Rush but from what we saw on 8/19 this was a significant step back for me. If I saw this as a stand alone, I would be annoyed and Gedo Kiniski and still would have thought the match had flaws. With what we have seen so far, not a whole lot of this makes sense from the cage, Bull getting beaten, to the garbage can spots. Ajas win feels so anticlimactic and that is unfortunate. I loved Aja's elimination in the 8/24/94 match because that felt like a defining moment of a big dog going down. This felt like Gedo screwing Bull. Joshi in 1990 is kind of depressing me after the promising start.

[1990-09-01-AJPW-Summer Action Series II] Mitsuharu Misawa vs Jumbo Tsuruta
Jumbo Fucking Tsurtua. Following up a great match with Kobashi the night before he delivers an all time classic here. Misawa is also great but to me this is one of Jumbo's signature performances. I watched this match back to back which is rare and on the second watch the stuff they did in the first 10 minutes was really well done and set up everything from the tease of the first match finish on. I also loved how Jumbo narrowly escaped the hot shot. In contention for my #1 MOTY.

[1990-09-01-AJPW-Summer Action Series II] The Fantastics vs Joe Malenko & Tsuyoshi Kikuchi
Great spotfest including hot action and big spots but the Fantastics also reached down and pulled out their vicious streak. I also want to commend Rogers for going right after Kikuchi when he fell to the floor. The flapjack was horrifying. I expected this to be fun going in but was shocked at how great it was.

[1990-08-31-NWA-Power Hour] Interview: Ric Flair
Flair looks more animated here with Gordon than in the past few green screen promos. He does a pretty great job hyping up the Clash match with Luger.

[1990-08-31-USWA Texas] Steve Austin & Jeannie Clark vs Chris & Toni Adams
If this is essentially the blowoff, farewell to a great feud. This segment was really good and a fitting ending although I do wish the match was a little longer. I sadly was looking at Jeannie when Percy went through his spiel of how all this men were googling at jeannie right now. Percy has been in a penalty box and swing above the ring within three months. Chris Von erich slamming the cage door was a great callback to Texas history.

Nick Bockwinkel
Haven't seen enough Bockwinkel to have one definitive opinion but I did enjoy his stuff that made the All Japan set. I watch the Buck Zumhofe match and enjoyed it quite a bit. First part of the match is essentially Bock working a hold, Buck finding an escape, rinse and repeat, but Bock did enough interesting little things to make the submission holds look really tight and threatening. Buck to his credit also had some good escapes. I especially liked when he stretched out Bock's legs and then got punched in the gut and Bock decided to put on a headlock instead of the head scissors to prevent that from happening again. Second half is Buck firing off some offense and Bock reeling but Buck misses a dropkick and immediately Bock goes back to the neck area he was working on but this time with high impact knees. Bock then hits a piledriver and that's it. Really great tv studio style match that told a wonderful story in 7 minutes.

[1990-08-27-WWF-Summerslam] Hulk Hogan vs Earthquake
Pretty great match I thought. Psychology was strong throughout and both competitors looked tough coming out of the match. Even though the finish was sort of cheap Hogan selled it so well that you were satisfied as a viewer. I am betting Vince wanted to slap Piper on commentary throughout most of this.
