[1990-02-24-WWF-Superstars] Brother Love: Jake Roberts & Big Boss Man
Yeah after seeing the abomination of the Heartbreak Hotel on the 1994 yearbook I have enjoyed the Brother Love segments and him getting pushed around is always a highlight. Jake was always my favorite as a kid along with Hogan and its nice to see his stuff hold up around the time I started watching unlike whiny Hogan.

[1990-02-23-WWF-The Main Event] Hulk Hogan vs Randy Savage
Getting Douglas for a cheaper price if true seems like an actual sensible economic move cashing in on relevant news. The match as a whole is a more tightly focused WM 5 main event match with Savage really working hard with great shots, bumping, and antics. I hate seeing the elbow be kicked out of but I guess by this point you just have to accept that as standard business. Savage dancing around at the end of the match even got a chuckle from my wife who is a tough audience to please in regards to wrestling.

[1990-02-18-NWA-Main Event] Ric Flair & Arn Anderson vs Rock & Roll Express
Another good WCW tv match. I was not as keen on this as some of the other stuff we have seen simply because I thought the shine segment for the RNR went on too long but the spots they did were fun and when the Horseman finally got control they did a number on Ricky. Good to see all of this great wrestling going on paid off to a good rating.

[1990-02-17-NWA-World Championship Wrestling] Ric Flair vs Brian Pillman / Lex Luger and the Four Horsemen
Flair showcase match #3 and it is wonderful. The commentary between JR and Cornette is very good and I loved Ross commenting on the strategy of Flair realizing that Pillman has more fight than he had imagined when Flair kept trying to pin him down. They really went back and forth with each other and it was smart to make this non title so the crowd and audience really bought into Pillman having a chance. Woman was a little out of position on her spot but the finish worked well with Flair having the tights. Luger coming out at the end and decking the Horseman was a great moment inciting the crowd.

Wrestling Culture Episode 31
Finished up show with Alan and Dean and greatly enjoyed and was surprised at how quickly the 2 hours 45 minutes flew by. I was especially happy to hear Bill Travis get a mention and am glad that Loss continues to ring his bell because he really has been a pleasant surprise on the 1990 yearbook so far.

[1990-02-17-USWA-Memphis TV] Jerry Lawler Loves Wrestling Fans
Jerry in three different segments on a program and all of them are great. Another typical 1990 USWA Saturday morning. The King is the greatest.

[1990-02-17-USWA-Memphis TV] Interview: Jerry Lawler
Lawler crusading against things in the wrestling business is 2 for 2 on the enjoyment scale. Lawler mounts a good argument about his validity.

[1990-02-17-WWF-Superstars] Brother Love: Ted DiBiase, Slick & Akeem
i also love the overlapping of these two storylines and the payoff at WM 6 was good. Was shocked at how good this promo was considering me and my brother still bust out Slicksters WM 6 promo if we need a good laugh.

[1990-02-12-FMW-Battle Brave] Atsushi Onita vs Masanobu Kurisu (Barbed Wire)
Real fun seeing the roots of death matches being fought out. There was a lot of laying around in this match but I sort of welcomed that especially compared to the superhuman no selling that has become par the course in death matches. The first powerbomb looked like it broke Kurisu's neck. Fun match.

[1990-02-11-WWF-Wrestling Challenge] Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels
First time matchup and sometimes wrestling history is funny because this is only 7.5 years until Survivor series but that feels like a lifetime from now watching this match. In contrast, it definitely doesn't feel like that much has changed since Cena first won the belt 7.5 years ago now. Basic matchup that eventually breaks down into a brawl. More here for historical purposes than as a standalone great match.
