[1994-09-25-FMW] Atsushi Onita & Katsutoshi Niiyama & Mr Gannosuke vs Mr Pogo & The Gladiator & Hideki Hosaka (Exploding Barbed Wire Dynamite Pool Elimination Death)
I can't describe the look of shame my wife gave me when she saw Onita load up a boat to get to the ring. I am assuming this was a one match show? A spectacle I am glad to have seen. Certainly not a great wrestling match or brawl, but memorable and is a nice fit in an overall yearbook setting.

[1994-09-24-USWA-TV] Jerry Lawler vs Doug Gilbert
Another good lengthy TV match. I don't quite get the FSU connection because I can't see Bobby Bowden being much of a villain in Memphis but I guess Scott had the name already and needed a tie in.

[1994-09-24-WWF-Superstars] King Kong Bundy vignette
We have just been banished from the corny Taker vs. Taker feud and now have these segments to take there place. This honestly looked like something out of 1986.

[1994-09-27-ECW-TV] Interview: Cactus Jack & Mikey Whipwreck
These two together is a perfect pairing and they really played off each other well. I am starting to get invested in ECW for the first time of the year for the company as a whole.

[1994-09-20-ECW-TV] Interview: Shane Douglas & Borne Again
Borne really could play the crazy clown gimmick well and creepy. Douglas gives another nice promo and I am starting to become a fan of his promos here as they are not as whiny or as long winded as they would become.

WWF doesn't do the panicked out of control scenes much but it works really well here and builds up Backlund really well.

[1994-09-18-WCW-Fall Brawl] Nasty Boys & Dusty & Dustin Rhodes vs Arn Anderson & Bunkhouse Buck & Terry Funk & Col. Robert Parker (War Games)
I agree that being a southerner and seeing the how the history of WCW and how it played out this match has some added nostalgia. Loss, I kind of am in the same position on FUNK. I think what we have seen from him in 1994 has not bolstered his GOAT case since I think most would site it as a banner year. For instance, if you add in Starrcade 93, I would say Flair had better top end and more consistency overall during this period. That being said, I thought Funk was amazing here. I know for me his act is totally believable because I have an uncle who acts like Funk.. He basically flips merchandise for a living and makes two appearances a year at family functions acting crazy as hell and you are not sure whether he is tweaked on something or just crazy. Funk is that man in this match. The spots in this match are awesome and the structure is amazing with the crowd going crazy for the final 5-10 minutes. Parker really should be commended for looking untrained and only throwing kicks on offense, there was no rope running or anything else to decipher him as a trained wrestler. Dusty coming in with the beatdown at the end was the perfect conclusion and ends one of the greatest matches in WCW history.

[1994-09-18-WCW-Fall Brawl] Vader vs Guardian Angel / Vader vs Sting
Vader/ Guardian ANgel clips were fun and Vader was bumping really big considering he had 20 more minutes of wrestling after this. Sting/Vader started off weird with some miscommunication but then they started throwing bombs at each other and it became really dramatic. Vader probably does more flying off the ropes than in any other match I can remember. First overtime sort of started the momentum for a minute, but I was invested in the outcome by the end and the powerbomb spot would have been done well if the bell would have rung on time. The first man to leave his feet stip is pretty stupid but actually worked here and the crowd was very invested screeching with Sting teetering off his feet. I have to give Sting credit because his selling was pretty dramatic. Finish was pretty cheap but did at least advance a few potential new storylines. Still would have liked a more conclusive finish to the last high profile match of one of the greatest feuds in WCW history.

[1994-09-17-USWA-TV] Brian Christopher/Doug Gilbert feud recap
Russell really tries to elevate the feud but the video of the clips they showed all spliced together do a good job of showing that a lot of cool shit did happen in this feud and it works better in highlight form without some of Gilbert's rambling. Christopher getting a haircut could not have been that much of an embarrassment given how short his hair is anyway.
