Favourite submissions holds
The figure four even though I've seen it end maybe 0.01% of matches it appears in. To me it's just a core thing that is part of what pro wrestling is.

Guys who got away with being bad
She was better than, conservatively, a third of the people they had under contract. That's not really praise so much as it is damning with faint praise.

Most boring wrestler of all time?
HTM should have had a ringside chef that smeared peanut butter and bananas all over people. "I heartedly endorse this event or product." - Krusty the Clown

Most boring wrestler of all time?
I will never forget that I saw Stevie Ray wrestle Vincent for control of the nWo Black & White. Ever.

mookie revealing sadistic tendencies ITT El Giante had a pretty good match in Japan with Vader. True story. A random bag of flour could have had a good match with Vader in Japan in his heyday.

signature line gifs
If you have add block installed on Firefox you can usually block specific images with a right click function. This is useful for particularly annoying/offensive avatars or signatures on message boards if you don't want to outright disable those functions. EDIT: beaten to it. Maybe I should try reading before I respond eh.

Most boring wrestler of all time?
Eh. The Undertaker vs. Dudleys match that "killed off" Paul Bearer by burying him in concrete oatmeal was honestly the most soul sucking thing I've ever watched in a main event. Actually thinking about it, Undertaker has had quite a few dreadful PPV duds, but I tend to think a good chunk of that is he tended to get stuck with gimmick workers, or weird match stipulations. Plus he's been on a billion PPV's, so I suppose it is inevitable.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
The fact that I had to think for longer than 3 seconds about whether that is a joke or serious really says it all.

Most boring wrestler of all time?
Glen Jacobs has been having the same "second match on a $12 indie show" match for like 15 years.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
I looked it up on the interwebz and I was informed Corgan is worth roughly $50 million, for whatever that is worth (probably nothing). I think it almost goes without saying this would be financed in some way that would minimize his personal risk, if it happens.

Wrestler=Actor
Having seen Bad Santa, I'm 99% sure Billy Bob Thornton has to play The Sandman.

Hell In a Cell
2013 Stephanie Mcmahon promo and 2013 Ryback non squash. In the Raws I watched in the last month, Stephanie is one of like *maybe* 3 or 4 people in the company that can actually cut a promo that isn't laugh out loud awful.

WCW's Highway to Hell
One of my all time favourite Meltzer blurbs around this time (before this, I assume), was that the company flew Dustin to a Nitro then promptly told him to go back home because they had no program for him to work. This is while he's on a $750 000 a year contract.

Magazine & Program scans
Great stuff. This sort of internet scrapbook archive kind of stuff is probably my favourite thing about the wrestling community these days. I love the tease on the first one about Bockwinkel possibly dropping the AWA belt in a tag match. Decades ahead of the curve!

WCW's Highway to Hell
This in a nutshell is the summary of everything. "Here was a good opportunity that sort of paid off but not really because we waited too long. And that was the highlight of what we got right."

GOAT music debate stuff
The other big problem with this topic is getting people that are actually capable of separating record sales from quality is next to nil. That's kind of obvious every time people draw wrestling/music comparisons on this forum.

Twitter
@DVDVR_DFA Be forewarned I rarely tweet about wrestling and I spam a lot of stuff about football and hockey though. So if those don't interest you, neither will I.
-
Dave Meltzer stuff
Barack Obama really got shafted in that poll. But seriously, I agree Dave running polls just to bitch about the results is sort of odd. I guess it kills time.

Red Flags in Wrestling
Two out of three falls match is probably gonna have three full falls. I can think of one time I've seen one end 2-0 off the top of my head.

The Jim Ross Is A Grouchy Hateful Vile Human Being thread
Yeah this seems pretty mutual, at the moment. The WWE's twitter machine and JR's twitter have remained totally complimentary of each other and it seems like JR is still involved in some hype for them going forward. WWE shop is still shilling JR BBQ stuff, I think, and they aren't in the habit of shilling merch for people they are burying on the way out. If WWE wanted to sink him or put him down they wouldn't post derogatory stuff, but they wouldn't mention him so much either they'd just ignore him. So this really just seems like a "JR is getting old and wants to work less" sort of thing.

Boxer vs. Wrestler in a shoot
I voted wrestler but I'm assuming I get to draft, like, Brock Lesnar or someone actually competent in the fundamentals. I like boxing but there's been no evidence in the last 15 years or so that a pure boxer could do anything in a MMA environment, so at this point there's probably a reason for that. If we're drawing just a name on the roster out of a hat vs. a boxer of note, then I'd vote boxer without hesitation. Brawl For All happened.
