Reactions to the Honorable Mention List, Part 3
Hey now all that money I used to spend on shipping actual fucking VHS tapes to and from my house back in the day was totally worth it.

Losing Carlos Colon just before the top 100 is painful, though I suppose it makes little real difference. Would have made me smile if he snuck into the top 100 though.

The NBA Playoffs are pro wrestling
The bookers really need to change up the Raptors "chokes when they reach for the brass ring" gimmick because it's tired, played out and really killing what could be a valuable worker. #PoliticalHit

Lowest ranked wrestler with a number one vote?
I will be legitimately shocked if Undertaker doesn't have a number one vote and with 150+ ballots I actually expect he received more than one. He was actually the last guy I cut. Too many dead periods in his career. I'm sorry.

I'm actually prepared to defend Hogan as a worker as I think the notion that he was terrible in the ring is pretty badly misguided and honestly not supported by the available footage. He is a giant ham. But he's the best giant ham that ever was. I'll be prepared to go into more detail on that later, but I think it's best to save it until he actually drops.

Has Mil Mascaras dropped yet?

Hoss Funk goes down. One of the 120 people with H in their name.

I genuinely think his All Japan stint is underrated, simply by association of who else is there.

Triple H is not one of the 120 best wrestlers with the letter H in his name, never mind overall.

This is quickly developing into Sophie's Choice stuff.

Another interesting one at least to me. Who finishes higher, Hogan or Cena?

I'm really interested to see where Manami Toyota lands, considering she's always been a hot button topic. Listen, I TOTALLY get how some people are so frustrated with a lot of her match structure (or total lack thereof). I see it, I acknowledge it. But she's also just as athletically gifted as pretty much any wrestler, like, ever pretty much. I've never seen any wrestler male or female quite like her. I think she's worthy of a top 100 spot based on that because some of what she can do is just so outrageous and so good that I find it impossible to consider ignoring it, but I also know there are people that would rather stab themselves in the hand with a fork than vote for her. She's basically the greatest possible Kurt Angle ever. However that rubs you probably determines a lot.

Seriously how did I not know there was a Takada/Abby match until now. Abby randomly used a dragon sleeper just because. Abby totally dominates Takada on the mat. My day is made. That's nearly as random as the time he decided to use a Diamond Cutter on Kikuchi just because he could.

The two highest ranked guys down on my ballot are Abdullah the Butcher and Nobuhiko Takada. Now I'm sad this match never happened.

The only fiasco was people disrespecting WCW Hardcore Legend Brian Knobbs in that thread.

Lou Thesz could barely beat Masa Chono let alone take on Ric Flair. Luger would have racked him up for sure.

I seriously wonder if one of the anonymous ballots is Josh Barnett. I know he lurked on Zach Arnold's old forums in a previous lifetime. If Billy Robinson has an anonymous number 1 I'm just going to assume one of the two was Barnett. Not sure if joke post.

Will be a great main event for Inoki's next World Friendship Conference Festival or whatever in Los Angeles, don't you think?

Speaking of stunned, I feel betrayed even reading this shit. Who are you? I'll admit I should probably have actually seen more of Devil than I have, since I voted for her. But Devil Masami is cool as fuck. One of the most charismatic wrestlers of her time.

I have never been a big advocate for Takada (relative to people that consider him an all time top 10 kind of guy) but I am still genuinely surprised how far the pendulum has swung on him.

Inoki is boring although I stand by my statement in the Wrestlemania Live thread that Triple H is a completely inferior version of Inoki in a different environment.

I predict Andre one slot lower than Triple H but 5 ahead of Inoki. How's that for going out on a limb?

Hayes is a guy the old story on him was "worst worker in the Freebirds by far, not really very good except as a talker", but most of what I have seen has suggested he was actually a really great foil for the more "serious" Gordy. He was a cocky rat bastard with big tough friends, and he knew it. Was really good in that role. The more I have seen of Hayes the more I think he's probably a guy that got about the most he could out of the skills he had, really. I can't knock a guy for that. He's definitely a guy that I agree the footage explosion helps a lot.

If someone is really into "Big Match WWE" style matches, it wouldn't surprise me at all. He's also another guy, maybe more than anyone, that benefits from my above point about "aura". Just to play devil's advocate, I think he's actually a relatively easy guy to make a case for, from a certain perspective.
