I wonder if Dynamite was ever on the Observer HOF ballot. She's one of the greatest wrestlers ever and she's main evented some of the biggest Joshi puroresu shows in history (and not in home promotion either). Her and Ozaki were JWP and JWP was basically WCW to AJW's WWF. I think she has a better case than a lot of wrestlers on the ballot when you start to look closer.

A lot to unpack here. According to guy who is a English teacher in Japan, Io did a Q&A session and avoided all WWE talk throughout the night which is another tipoff since the policy for wrestlers getting signed is to not acknowledge that they are signed (Models and former other sports athletes are more upfront) https://m.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/5hcgay/tonight_im_meeting_io_shirai_what_questions/?st=1Z141Z3&sh=19ef469f&compact=true Nanae won her Lethwei fight by KO. Kyoko Kimura will challenge Hiroyo Matsumoto for the Oz Academy Title on the 1/8 show. And OZ claimed 2,100 for the Dynamite Kansai Retirement Show in Korakuen. That show airs on Christmas Day.

On the 12/21 Seadlinnng Korakuen Hall show, Nanae Takahashi vs ODB is the main event, Yoshiko/Sareee vs Aja Kong/Arisa Nakajima, Ayako Hamada/Ryo Mizunami vs Hiroyo Matsumoto/Syuri. We'll see how Nanae looks by the 21st cause she has a Lethwei fight in Myanmar on 12/11. Just judging from a couple of videos, Lethwei is basically taped fist kickboxing.

PTBN TLC Reaction Show (Featuring Kris Zellner, Johnny Sorrow, & Devon Hales)
Loved the show except for Johnny not muting his mic and hearing him burp and some machine going on in the background.

Dave Meltzer stuff
So on last week's Bruce Prichard's show, Bruce said that Dave made up a story of what WWF wanted when he and Gerry Brisco met with Giant Baba in Japan. Bruce said that he was embarrassed to have that meeting cause Johnny Ace and Fumi Saito ( a Japanese journalist and former AJW color commentator) served as Baba's interpreter but he said Baba dealt with Jack and Gerry in English about business before. Bruce also says that Baba wanted everybody in WWF at a cheaper rate than what Michinoku Pro paid for Undertaker, Chris Candido and another person I'm forgetting for their Sumo Hall show. Now Dave said on the F4W board not only Fumi was a source but Bruce himself told the story to Dave. Bruce goes to great lengths to show his hate for Meltzer so is this BS the whole time for Bruce or is the truth somewhere in the middle?

For match recommendations on Joshi from the last decade, here's a thread to start with: http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/31922-best-joshi-of-the-last-10-years/?view=getnewpost Also, Donsem43 made a great list of best women's matches from last year and a lot of them come from Japan. http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/32117-top-20-womens-matches-of-2015/?fromsearch=1

Current Joshi Talk
Arisa is my favourite Joshi wrestler from the current generation so I'm pretty excited to see what's in store for her coming next year. With Io and Hojo leaving STARDOM she'd make a great replacement for the void they'd leave. Is it possible that WWE is interested in her as well, especially with the rumored women's tournament in the works? Worst case scenario is that just ends up working Nanae's promotion full time but even that's a step up from her current situation in JWP since their shows actually get aired on TV. I can't imagine she'll just end up bouncing around OZ, WAVE, Ice Ribbon, etc., hardly seems worth leaving her home promotion for that considering she was doing that anyway while she was with JWP. I feel the same way as I can't imagine her just leaving JWP to do the same bookings as she did before. The Seadlinnng thing is something I haven't even thought of. They are gonna have 7 Korakuen Hall shows in 2017 and looking at the claimed attendance numbers, they are not far off from Stardom. They draw roughly the same as JWP and smoke WAVE as WAVE has probably the lowest numbers at Korakuen for any wrestling promotion this year. Granted Nakajima wrestles on all of those shows anyway but it's something to think about. I would go with Stardom & WWE being the leaders if she truly a free agent.

Dave Meltzer stuff
I might believe those if they were reversed... I am so out of touch with that type of fan now. The reaction to this show has made think that also. I've watched the main event three times and still think it's a 4 star match. However, a lot of fans didn't like the main and gravitated towards the Owens/Rollins match. I get the feeling that those fans didn't care about Sasha/Charlotte to begin with and I see people on various platforms were growing tired of the feud so they weren't gonna like it. Dave already started that they didn't build it properly for the first women's main event and he's right. But for me, I enjoyed it cause I gave up watching Raw leading up to this. I skipped the go home show and it's made my enjoyment of the show overall better.

I don't think that's the case here. A lot of people on this board thought the HIAC matches were good and they watch a lot of wrestling outside of WWE. Maybe that theory applies to Wreddit but not around here.

Sasha vs. Charlotte: right now
Agreed. I will say that even though Sasha is not suited to be a babyface outside of her ring work, she's started to became a really good babyface in ring. Charlotte doesn't have that natural ability to play baby in the structure of WWE babyface being beat down for most of the match but Sasha does. Most of it is due to Charlotte being bigger than most of the women and she's not a Barry Windham type that can work small for smaller opponents but her as a face character never worked. Joe mentioned that he enjoyed the Paige/Charlotte matches but they had to resort to bringing up Reid to get heat on Paige. With Charlotte/Sasha, you don't have to result to any of that. They made the right decision to give her the title again cause she's doing a great job as lead heel right now. She does have to have a great match with another person other than Sasha cause I watched the Nattie match from Takeover and its not as good as we remembered.

Dave Meltzer stuff
And there's a lot of people who thought the same way as Meltzer. I thought the Sasha/Charlotte match was great and I'm starting to think the "who goes on last" story was a planted story by someone who gives information to Dave to keep this show in the news cycle. From all of the promotional outside of the weekly TV, Sasha/Charlotte was the obvious main event match advertised. It's similar to the questioning of the Shane/Taker match being on last when the advertiseing match was Triple H/Reigns. That's fine but to me, he shifted very quickly between his opinion that Owens and Rollins had a much better match to speculating that Vince wouldn't put the women on last again because their match was bad, as if this was now an objective fact or at least the overwhelming consensus. I guess that's the problem with the main reporter of wrestling also being the main reviewer. While he obviously has an incredible knowledge of the business and it's history, I wish his star ratings and opinions on style weren't so influential because a lot of the time those ratings are almost taken as facts by some. Besides, I honestly think the Owens/Rollins style is downright bad for business. But that's a side point. I totally agree with you on that and it sucks because a lot of people do take Meltzer's reviews on stuff as gospel. I've been guilty on that myself as I see his star ratings as a guide. It helped me when I got back to watching wrestling regularly after years of not seeing it but I've disagreed with a lot of the stuff he views as great lately and reading a lot between the lines of what side he gets his info from. Hell, I just went through 97 Observers about Megumi Kudo and he put a de-emphasis on her being the main event of Retirement show at Yokohama Arena saying she wasn't the real draw.

Hell in a Cell 2016
When I saw the power bomb through the two tables spot, it got my attention but it didn't last long. I can't remember anything from the Universal Title HIAC other than that spot and Jericho coming in. Reigns and Rusev are not my favorites but I dug the match they had cause they brought it too each other and tried to set tone for the show. Sasha is one of my favorites so I was gonna watch regardless but her and Charlotte brought me back feelings wise to when I saw the Foley HIAC matches live on PPV and thinking "what's happening next." I think Matt D is on the money in terms of watching a horror flick with these two. With Rollins vs Owens (cause the HIAC with Ambrose was like this too), it's an action movie where you expect the big explosions in very predictable ways.

Hell in a Cell 2016
As of right now I have it at 3 3/4 knocking on the door of 4. I had it ****. It's weird cause I felt that it's not the best match of both of their careers but Charlotte had her best performance as a character and this was Sasha's best performance as a true babyface.

Hell in a Cell 2016
I agree with almost everything Parv said about this. It's horrible that the build of this wasn't good at all cause those two raised their games and put on a great main event. The finish shocked me but the psychology of back giving out made it acceptable. If two guys from the undercard had a match like that in the main event, they would automatically become top stars. However, I still feel like what I said in the WWE weekly thread a week or two ago hold true in that this match feels more like something WWE will use for PR for women in the company instead of actually making Sasha and Charlotte top stars in WWE.

She also has a lot of experience as an ace getting matches out of people that they would otherwise have no business having. That will come in handy dealing with the high variance of experience levels amongst the women that go through NXT / WWE. Who's next amongst the indie women who frequent Stardom to go to NXT full-time? It seems like if they wanted Santana Garrett by now, they would've taken her. Kay Lee Ray has the chops in the ring, but she doesn't have the look they want. Heidi Lovelace was at the last tryout, but I don't know if she was signed. I'd really like to see Evie end up in WWE eventually, or at least go back to Stardom for a tour. And I would imagine that Toni Storm will end up there at some point after she's done with Stardom. We probably see more Tessa Blanchard if she doesn't get picked up. Thea Trinidad is going on an upcoming tour and she did a TV match with Asuka.
