The Cancellation of Jim Cornette
I have no idea who that man is. I just looked at Wiki. Holy shit.

Well, it did strike me before how *white* the roster was.

The Cancellation of Jim Cornette
Well, had no idea so I googled a bit. So, Corgan had basically turned into the american Morrissey or something ? Well he was always a fan of Rush, so it's not like I thought he was some leftist anyway but...

Court Bauer must be relieved this stuff did not happen on Being Sports...

The "motorscooter" was a giveaway that it was a dated line. That doesn't make it right though. Yeah, whoever edited this show screwed up big time. Corny ain't gonna be back. Too much of a liability, between this and talking about Kenny Omega looking like is butt plug fell off on his podcast...

NWA Powerrr
Come on ! I'm French and I got it ! Mostly. Talking about Trevor is so tough he's the only guy who can strap a ? (EDIT : bucket! Damn !) of fried chicken on his back and ride a motorscooter across Ethiopia. And before anyone wants to defend it as having nothing to do with color of skin/race : FRIED CHICKEN !!!

Well, there you go. I don't pay attention that much to the commentary on this show so I did not hear it but yeah... What we talked about before...

Yeah. Except it was a three minutes nothing match. Huge disappointment. You have complained about some AEW matches going too long and being too competitive for your tastes, but you can't tell me you are happy with what they did with this. Especially considering how good Murdoch looks. To me this program is a clear case of less is less. Interesting thing about the ?Mark/Stevens dynamic is that it's basically a reverse Miz/Mizdow deal, with Stevens in the role of the Miz and ?Mark being cheered like crazy like Mizdow was. Also, the main event being 100% silly shit with a WWE comedy reject and a totally meta/ironic gimmick (AND Colt Cabana) makes Corny looks like the biggest idiot and hypocrite ever, really. I hope some people make gifs of this match and tag Corny with it on Twitter with the mention Outlaw Mud Show or something. James Storm calling this a bunch of bullshit was kinda neat though. Eli Drake vs Ken Anderson is intriguing in a "who can do the best Stone Cold/Rock mix" way. They are clearly overdoing the whole Kamille/Latimer/James Storm/whoever mystery now. Too much plotting without actual storytelling elements being revealed. This was the worst episode yet to me, if only because Aldis vs Murdoch could have been a really good long main event and they delivered jack shit instead. In other news, Melina still looks great...

De rien ! Ok, Orton has re-signed, so all of this is a moot point anyway (kinda like Orton's entire career).

I looked it up. Randy Orton's pic was there under "counter exemple".

I totally agree that Orton has zero charisma. The reason he's over with the crowd is because he's been there forever and pushed to the moon forever since the very start. To me he's the more forced pro-wrestler ever. He's walking down the ramp and just nothing happens at all. He's sucking my will of watching anything from him by the sheer force of his inner void. When I first stumbled back onto WWE programs in the mid 00's and I saw this guy, I immediately knew modern WWE was not for me, as there was nothing to see. No charisma, no discernable look (just a bunch of bad tribal tatoos) and a final move that he basically lifted from DDP (the move and the act). And then there's the Viperrrrr Randy Orton. Wanna talk about bad acting, forced drama, goofy as fuck maneurism and robotic shit ? This is it. the whole hitting the ground with his fist. I tried and tried and tried, during the Cena days and those million awfully boring, neverending matches they had together. I gave Orton the Black Hole moniker and I stand by it. The fact Foley worked a miracle match with him is a testament to his genius, because otherwise, there's nothing to remember from this guy, ever. It's like he never happened. The fact he gets a pass despite the accusation of sexual harrassement, being a total douchebag with the Divas back in the days and apparently racist posting blows my mind too.

The idea of AEW programs taped from the Jericho Cruise, on the boat, is so awesome. It takes Club LaVella Nitros to another level. Can't wait. I hope AEW does a bunch of this kind of different stuff.

WWE TV 11/18 - 11/24 South American Coupamania
Indeed. The early MNW wouldn't have been as fun and insane without "The tall guy lost after three superkicks" and whatnot.

People can say whatever about Meltz, but he can be a funny mofo. Alvarez "I don't understand why these people are feuding." Meltz "They all got T-shirts for their birthdays." Alvarez "But why are they fighting ?!!" Meltz "It's the power of the T-shirts."

Sounds like the old TNA stuff they used to do. Pro-wrestling as figure skating indeed. I hope they get Al Snow. Nobody does grumpy old wrestler better than Al Snow.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
I don't care what anyone thinks, stuff like Joey Ryan vs Addy Starr "barefoot LEGO match" from Bar Wrestling's Halloween show is just brillant. Funny how most of Joey Ryan's critics don't pay one bit of actual attention to his work, because the guy is just a classic pro-wrestler at heart. He's all about building to the big spots, using teases, showing ass (sometimes, literally) when it's time to, getting the most out of every spots in his matches. And technically he's solid as hell, his stuff looks good, he's an excellent bumper. Anyway, this match was just terrific, and it worked not only on the meta level, but also absolutely on the literal level (even when it goes into the realm of absurdity, like when Addy puts bricks into her crotch to give herself superpowers). The bumps on LEGO, as parodic as they are, still look like it hurts like a mofo, so it actually works as a deathmatch too. Anyway, loved that stuff. Bar Wrestling shows are usually very fun anyways. Melissa doing the ring announcing is a plus. No idea why IMPACT doesn't have her do that, she's simply the best out there.

Current New Japan
When even Dave "Would have been 5* in the Tokyo Dome" Meltzer can't be bothered nor excited about something NJPW, you know it's totally skippable.

Yeah, honestly, Orton would have been a bad fit for AEW. Someone still in his prime or not used right in WWE coming over is fine, but a guy like Orton whose career is basically entirely behind him coming over totally would have that TNA syndrome of WWE veteran coming to cash up a paycheck. Plus, I don't think there's anyway you can undo 20 years of WWE. Moxley came from the indies (pretty much like most notable and ground breaking worker of the last 20 years), he just had to push a switch to become someone else. About the video, yeah, how can anyone hate on these guys ? Some really fun stories told here. I hope the Bucks get some women on this show, because it really help showcase real-life personnality and I love it. I wish Dynamite would have a bit more of this and BTE taste (because the more "sports oriented" product with JR blabbing about "physicality" every two minutes because he doesn't know the moves or the names of the people is not my favourite thing about AEW), but as long as they still do it on Youtube, I'm fine with it.

Can we call him Killer Khan now ?

Funny how Orton played the whole "Elite" thing to get a bigger deal from the WWE and remain in the comfortable spot he pretty much always had since he debuted, and now acts like a good old corporate drone again. We talked about whether Orton would have showed something else if he ever showed up in AEW, but in all honesty I was glad he stayed with WWE. This guy had always been a black hole, and really wasn't needed.

MLW Fusion, anyone watching it?
It's a funny way to put it and I'm not sure I even really understand what you mean by that, but at the same time it fits them really well. These people are like.... vague. Honestly, Lacey Von Erich playing the dumbest dumb blonde ever with the Beautiful People in TNA was more entertaining than anything these two have done thus far.

I'm sorry but it sounds like a Bill Watts argument from the 80's, and even back then it was stupid. Pro-wrestling has always been a theatrical performance. The idea that a R'n"R Express vs MX looks more like a fight than a Young Bucks match is laughable. Double dropkicks anyone ? Alabama Jams ? Total credible fight stuff, not at all cool flashy movie-like stuff. Jerry Lawler's shit was as fake looking as anything in pro-wrestling, ever (a hundred punches to the face in a match, yet no bruise, ever, dropping the strap and making a comeback, I mean please...). Arn Anderson talks in his podcast how he is not a though guy at all. I mean, sorry but these aren't valid arguments. Between Janela and Lawler (let's keep that one since he's Corny's idol), I don't see much difference in term of how they look physically, and Janella does much more athletic stuff than Lawler ever did too. And he apparently hasn't raped any 16 years old girls yet (that's for the Justin Roberts peodphile "funny joke" analogy...).

They actually made it a big part of the show this week. My guess, Lawlor turns heel on the Von Erichs at Thanksgiving, then King Moe beats his ass out of the territory. The match with Davey Boy was good, although nowhere close the Thatcher match. That thumb in the eye at the end was brutal, DBS's eye looked pretty bad. Enjoying the Garrini/Douglas James team quite a bit. It gives a fresh dynamic. On the other hand, the Von Erichs keep on bringing jack shit to the table save for their name. Compare them with the Young Lions of the LA Dojo, it's stricking, they just look green and mediocre, and it's not like they are any good on promos either. Meanwhile, Richard Holliday and Hammerstone are carrying the Dynasty segments in absence of MJF, they both have improved a lot since they showed up. How long will MJF remain on MLW TV btw ? Can't wait for Salina to return with a vengeance...

Wait. Weren't the Cult of Corny all up on Joey Ryan because he has done a fiew pedophile jokes on his Twitter (and I haven't seen them, but I guess it was actual jokes, not insults toward a real person he did not like) ? So ok, Joey Ryan is a scumbag because he did pedophile jokes (which you can think are funny or not, I dunno, I have not seen them), but Corny actually insulting a real person whom he doesn't like because he works for the pro-wrestling promotion he hates and calling him a pedophile is funny ? Really ? Yeah, Memphis, that serpent's nest of though guys, old school shooters, real man and whatnot. Jerry Lawler, a guy with no body whatsoever, who never drank alcohol and liked to draws stuff. A geek, basically. Well, he liked younger girls, so I guess he was territory worthy...
