  1. At least we can see he's be banned from Twitter ! Too "disruptive" I guess. Well, we got Parv to promote his alt-right Youtube channel on the board at least. Now he can go back to do only that and let emotional and unsane people babble about pro-wrestling without being polluted with dumb shit straight out FOX or BFM TV.
  2. If you read my post from last week or something before I saw the vignette, I was like yawning so badly. But the vignette actually had me chuckle with the total meta 80's cheesiness. I have never ever cared about Swinger one way or another and it's probably the very first time I actually got a positive reaction from anything Swinger, which is shocking in itself. Hell, I already care more about him now than I do about Elgin (that IS a backhanded compliment).
  3. I agree LAX went on kind of a wimper, with a crowd being not that hot in the post-match. Maybe they should not have done this one in Mexico. But it was already a done deal anyway, so... I will miss the LAX theme though, too bad they won't use that and their team name in AEW. The North vs pretty much anyone is fun, so that's the good part. I did not expect Cage to ask Melissa to marry him, so that was fun since you know Callihan is gonna ruin this, and nothing is more fun than a wedding ceremony being ruined. Cage is a happy man btw, Melissa's reaction was so genuine too, again she showcased the natural personality she had in LU. I hope good stuff is coming for this angle. And damn, can't they actually *sign* Marty anyway ? From all the really good LU guys, he's the one who really hasn't showed up anywhere. I'm still enjoying the Austin & Eddie angle, because it's so cheesy. Speaking of cheesy, the Swinger vignette actually gave me hope this could be fun. Now I just hope he'll work like Brutus Beefcake in 86.
  4. Your use of the cancer analogy is repulsive. And no one needs economic lessons, thank you very much. Don't you have some podcast to do already ?
  5. Worker's rights, that cancer. What's fun with alt-right rhetoric is that not only the ideas are putrid, but the way they express them is often also repulsive and offensive. That thread has just turned into a really, really ugly thing quick.

    LLos or IIos ?
  7. Slavery should be an option. I mean, worked for Uber, Amazon and the likes. WWE should look into this... They already book every babyface like complete bitches who bow down to their boss anyway.
  8. No. You're just babbling alt-right nonsense that we have heard for years and years already and it's about as factual as the Loch Ness Monster and Vince Russo being a great booker. I'm far from being emotional. If I got "emotional" on you, I would get banned, probably. I have no more time to waste with this, in my life in general too. Consider me a hardcore leftist on those matters and let's agree to disagree. Anyway. It will sure be interesting to see how WWE and AEW react to this one.
  9. Of for fuck's sake. First, this is PWO, if you did not know, so this is irrelevant. Second, this board doesn't need your alt-right bullshit rethorics. I would not even even address stupid shits like this on a Facebook thread, much less here when I come to actually talk about a hobby that makes me think about other things that the shit this world is turning into because of "ideas" like these. So yeah, PWO. Do talk about old pro-wrestling building as much as you like though.

I hope they got the LIconics right. Or is it the ILconics, the Iiconics, maybe the Licornics ?
  11. And yeah, everyone should have benefits and pensions anyway.
  12. You mean there has been point in the last 20 years where the context was better for workers and fans in term of career and choice of what to watch ? You mean Kenny Omega hasn't been a huge star in Japan and did not sell out big arenas working as a main event act with Okada, in matches that have gotten both incredible reviews and emotional response (and by that I mean, from the actual japanese audience who actually paid to see those guys) ? You mean the Young Bucks are still actually indie geeks and have not actually made a name for themselves to the point of them getting their own company which has sold out a bunch of shows without any TV ? What have I referred to as facts that aren't facts ? My opinions are what they are, but the fact is, Corny has a huge confirmation bias issue whenever he talks about AEW (for instance it's laughable he bashes Excalibur while praising JR, who could not even get Jungle Boy's name right to begin with). And for the record, I still enjoy Corny a lot (great color guy still, much better than 99% of the guys today). That doesn't mean I have to agree about everything with him. And if I'm not mistaken, that's also true with you...
  13. Well, that sure is interesting. I've been missing Sean Oliver stuff. Hopefully he comes up with good stuff that will make up for Conrad's stuff jumping the shark.
  14. That sucks. Hopefully he gets better and recovers quickly.
  15. Tough shit. Because pro-wrestling has always been evolving. I don't care about a segment of fans who doesn't like this or doesn't like that. I always care about one thing : what I enjoy myself. Pretty much no one watched Lucha Underground after the first season, sadly. It's still my favourite promotion of the last 5 years (and the one who made me evolved and get with the times too). Actually at this point, IMPACT is my favourite promotion, not AEW, because there's no TV yet. AEW is definitely makin pro-wrestling better for everyone, that is a fact, because workers have never had this kind of leverage in the last 20 years, and fans have never had more choices either. So, those are facts, not opinions. As far as Corny being the spokesperson, he's a pretty shitty one considering how much biased he is. He still talks about Kenny Omega like "that guy who ruined pro-wrestling because he wrestled a 7 year old girl" and not the guy who was a huge star in NJPW, sold out huge arenas against Okada and is considered by many of one of the greatest worker of all time already. He still talks about the Bucks like they are indie geeks and not legit stars, which at this point is factually wrong. I could go on and on. His "feud" with Callihan was bullshit, he admitted it himself. Corny ain't the spokesperson for no one, he's making good business selling soup to people. And really, the people who don't like what AEW is doing, guess what : dont watch. You're not the right target. They don't need a "spokeperson" nor a "voice of resistance" (seriously). Like I said, pro-wrestling is evolving. Tough shit. But who knows, maybe AEW will end up tanking and those Corny guys will be happy that they were "proven right" and then they can go back bitching about how boring WWE is... (and really, if I had my ways, I'd glady get another strong season of Lucha Underground that no one would give a fuck about but me)
  16. I mostly love Cornette. Always have. Was all over his stuff (podcast & great shoots with KC) a few years ago when everyone was shitting on him going back on his ROH days and unpopular political opinions. I find his views on modern wrestling to be mostly irrelevant because they are ridiculously biased. Sorry, but this is LOL material. The "Voice of resistance" ? Because we sure need "resistance" toward actually making pro-wrestling better for all parties involved, which is what the emergence of AEW is doing. Corny is doing podcast business. His "feud" with Sami Callihan was a work. He cornered himself against a wall with some of his ridiculous takes on the Bucks and Kenny Omega. He's basically working his "old man yells at cloud" gimmick to wonders to a bunch of his fanboys who blindly eat his shit up, just like some fanboys blindly eat Brucie's shit up. Trying to paint AEW and basically all modern pro-wrestling as some kind of "threat" to whatever pro-wrestling would supposed to be in 2019 by "good standarts" and something that needs to be "resisted" is completely ridiculous.
  17. And then they can wait until a governor changes it back to the old ways and they can have a big PPV there again and give that person a world title belt and declare the USA is the greatest country in the world or something. I wonder about the AEW contracts BTW. Guys like MJF definitely are "independent contractors" as they also work MLW for now, but most of the exclusive deals probably don't allow that, especially once they get on TV.
  18. Agreed. And considering some GWE analytical obsessive type have a pretty narrow way to look at things themselves (not pointing the finger at anyone in particular, it's just a fact), it's not only patronizing, it's also ridiculous. And yeah, in 1990 in WWF, Valentine vs Garvin was totally a JTTS vs JTTS match, which is the perfect definition of non-star match. That Conrad has a pretty mainstreamy taste is nothing new. How any time can we hear "X is one of the most underrated guy" and think "What ? He's been a consensus greatest worker forever now."
