  1. Some dudes threw the same kind of rating 17 years ago, so you're most probably not.
  2. I posted it in the "general thread", as I thought it really didn't fit this one. It's really awful what happened.
  3. Jim Ross' wife as tragically died from an accident on the road. This is really sad.
  4. In the era of the billion podcasts, people are still buying's RF's crap ?
  5. Big hype back then for this match, I remember. We were all over Genki who was a Neo girl I think. (Ran, Amano & Hyuga were already established as excellent workers and Tamura was like a big favourite too)
  6. On the other hand, the Last Nitro episode was all kind of great. And you get another story about Kevin Dunn being a complete dickhead too.
  7. Usually, those great "squash only" wrestlers owed the fact their squashes looked great to solid workers known as jobber back in the days. For instance, the idea Sid was a great squash worker doesn't make sense. Those nameless guys bumping like freaks for his shitty offense made it look that way. There's a reason why the old TV was all about squashes, it's because it's easy to look good when you're facing a jobber whose entire job is to bump and make your crap offense look like killer stuff.
  8. Only a still Royal Rumble ring can stop Vince dead in his tracks.
  9. Not a match, but Sting's promo on 01/28/06 iMPACT is arguably the best of his career up until that point. Of course, they just ignore the few PPV appearance he made for the promotion a few years earlier and play it straight like he's back from the last Nitro, but the whole "I came back to be able to say goodbye", while putting over the promotion and leaving his bat in the middle of the ring was excellent stuff. He also did a good job playing of the "You deserve it" chant with mesured emotion (as in, not like Shawn Michaels would have done). Really, great promo from Sting and super well done segment, with Christian telling him to stay when they hug at the top of the ramp.

You don't say. This is pretty surreal. I'd rather have Nash or Austin introduce DDP though.
  11. I couldn't have put it better myself. And yeah, the late Powerplant era definitely seems like an unexpected influence. The tribal tattoos were such a lame stamp of these years too. And again, for better of for worse (speaking about some annoying working traits), the influx of different body type/looks and actual characters came from the indie scene, CM Punk being the most notable. I was going through the Rumble matches post 2001 last month and it's interesting to see how things slowly evolved on the roster through those years. I guess there would be an interesting, almost ethnographic study to be made about the evolution of body types and characterization in the WWE through these Rumble match alone over the years, complete with the looks (I mean costumes, hairs and such) and names of the workers (complete gimmick names, names that belong to the workers, copyrighted WWE names etc...)

It's from 2014 so he was most probably lost in some cave of sorts.

I dunno about absolute garbage, but he sure didn't impress me in Lucha Underground and having him being paired with both Ivelisse and Catrina, the two best women character on the show, didn't sit well with me. Jury's still out, but I was not very interested in what I saw thus far.
  16. Sadly, the DDP episode was all about that, with the litany of Conrad reading results from shows and PPV. Very boring. Not nearly enough Schiavone actually telling stories about DDP. The Klondike Bill story at the beginning was the highlight.

Interesting that Meltz is going about how WWE can't really bring back Hogan now because of this. I guess in his mind : Paige > sextape > Hogan > "niggas ain't shit" If you add the idea of the New Day working a segment with Hogan at Mania. Awkward stuff incoming. Well, if this keeps this shit from happening (Hogan + New Day at Mania), that's the one good thing coming out of this fiasco.

This is of course completely ridiculous. But if you work an hacking angle, at least do it right to make fucking Emmalina a character that works. A fake leak of sexy poses by Emmalina and then she shows up on TV cutting a promo on losers who hack hot women's phones because they are never gonna get any IRL, and such things… That would be a contemporary idea and topical character. Of course, gotta move from this as quick as possible and warn Emma she should keep her phone empty. Or full or stupid pics to troll legit hackers. Damn, I'd be such a great writer...

Agreed. It's the smartest way to deal with it. And there's nothing to "confess" anyway.

He had none during his tenure of TNA it seems (I have only a few months to go before he goes away as I'm moving into 2006). And he never had any in the WWE stuff I've seen. To me he's one of the typical "wasted motion" worker, combining the worst traits of RVD and Booker T without any of their good or singular attributes. Total waste of athletic ability. Could be a decent promo though, but damn, bad rapping and bad matches for 17 years straight on TV, has to be a record.

Actually, things go away. A lot of the stuff I was taking part in 17 years ago are now gone. The old DVDVR is gone. The old Smarkschoice board is gone. The Spider Twist board is gone. That great french site about Takeshi Kitano has been swiped. Wanna talk about all those Myspace pages ? Megaupload was closed down. There is a gigantic "ghost world" no one has access to anymore because there's no way to stumble onto it, because there are no links to those pages anymore. Videos are swiped by Youtube. Tons of stuff go away. The internet in its current form is what ? 25 years old ? No one has any idea what the hell will happen in the decades to come.

Come on. Some of the content is actually kinda cute. (thankfully, that Pegasus loony guy ain't here to comment anymore though) No shame to have at all. Well, kinda, Maddox as a director of photography, that's shameful.

Stro and El-P this is the shit I was talking about. Well, yes indeed. See my replies.

Oh yeah, because in ONE HUNDRED YEARS, sextapes from the 21st century will probably be the thing that will get conserved the most preciously in whatever existing forms. (Hopefully by then, sex will not be seen as "embarrassing" or "dirty" too) "He/she was a good hand" is not a bad way to be remembered either. And by that I mean in whatever sense you want to give that phrase. I'd settle for it, really.

You know how ridiculous you sound, right ? And then what ? Shit, my ancestors were hot and used to have sex. THE AUDACITY !
