  1. The 90's. For all the reasons already mentioned.
  2. And of course, Shawn Michaels "losing his smile" infamous promo. Which basically forced Vince to book Bret vs Austin II at Mania 13.
  3. "Austin 3:16 says I just whipped your ass." "Hulk Hogan, you can go to hell ! You're outta there. Straight to hell." Yeah, I know, not very original. But I can't think of any bigger ones.
  4. I did enjoy Rey vs Chavo, with the added bonus of Chavo Sr. at ringside resulting in quite a funny Dusty finish / restart moment. They tried to push it as a truly big time match (loser leaves lucha) and it's a case of Striker & Vamp trying way too hard and being quite bad in the process (I know most think they are awful anyway, but I don't). People chanting "this is awesome" at every solid/good TV match is ridiculous too, but this is how it's become everywhere it seems. Lastly, I must say this match highlighted an annoying flaw of the WWE style of working with a very awkward 619 set-up by Chavo Sr. and the ever annoying "counter the third suplex in the Three Amigos" spot, which never makes any sense since it means two suplexes in a row are basically harmless. That being said, it was a good Smackdown circa-04 (or so) match. I guess Chavo is done as far as in-ring work, a la Kevin Sullivan in WCW.
  5. Wow. Hey, good that he does ! But still. Wow. Vince must be so happy...
  6. De Niro in Angel Heart would be perfect to play Father James Micthell. Probably because Mitchell was very inspired by the role for his own character I would guess.
  7. Yeah, because the Boogie-Woogie man wasn't making it look stupid, and Kamala the Ugandan Giant who didn't know how to pin his opponent was absolutely credible. Heard him on Metlz and yeah, he came off like an humble and smart guy. Very pro too. Actually made me want to re-watch that Dome show.
  8. Fukawa is a tiny woman. LCO working ARSION was my favourite tag team getting into my favourite promotion. And did it pay off big time at the end of the year !
  9. Manami Toyota and Kyoko Inoue working a 60 minute sprint in 1995 put them in the head of that pack too.
  10. El-P replied to Grimmas's topic in WWE
Fascinating indeed. Are we gonna see WWE vs NJPW in the years to come ? That would be quite crazy.
  11. Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs. Tatsuhito Takaiwa Both these guys pretty much are vicious bastards. Takaiwa is your power junior worker from Z1, Kanemaru is NOAH's favourite dickhead champion. Lots of power spots from Takaiwa, some of them quite impressive. Heeling up back and forth, with some good stuff from Kanemaru. Takaiwa shows in the not sharpest guy around by wasting a great DVD outside, as he followed it with a figure-four instead of a dramatic pinfall attempt. Ends up with a bombfest, as most Takaiwa's matches do, with some übermacho one count kick outs, which I have no issue with, but maybe Takaiwa's latest pop up at the end is a bit problematic (although his two counters of Kanemaru's low-blow was quite neat). Still, a very good junior heel vs heel match, with impressive bombs being thrown. NOAH was the brand new thang, no doubt about it. Misawa had it right.
  12. Mitsuharu Misawa, Naomichi Marufuji, Takuma Sano & Yoshinari Ogawa vs. Akitoshi Saito, Jun Akiyama, Kentaro Shiga & Yoshinobu Kanemaru (08.15) What the hell is this ? Some outdoor show in the Michinoku region during the summer, Akiyama's bastard faction against NOAH's trve soldiers. And it's the greatest match no one ever talked about. They even do some comedic bits during beatdowns, with poor Kanemaru being the recipient of a double dose of revengefull acrimony from Misawa's men. This goes long so everyone gets to shine, although both Shiga and Sano wait until the last act to do so. Stand outs are Ogawa, who's just so perfect in everything he does, Akiyama who's being a dick and Kanemaru, the asshole GHB (or something) junior champ. But really, everyone contributes and it's a mix of fun, heeling up and great comeback and payoff spots. Great fun match. NOAH was going in the right direction with this shit, with a dynamic clearly different from the AJPW they left behind.

    I did laugh.
  14. Wow. That's really pathetic at this point. I have no idea why you're still allowed to post these kind of shit troll posts repetitively.
  15. Of course. Not judging. But I admit when I saw that picture on her Twitter than was linked to the annoncement of Snuka's death, I was like "I did not need to see this. I have no business in this hospital room with the family." But to me it goes beyond grief, it's about people's life in general. I don't get people posting unprotected pics of their children all the time on FB or Instagram either. It's a broad issue which, like I said, has nothing to do with the topic at hand. Because it's been just a few weeks ago that Nancy Argentino's family was denied justice and that it's a known fact that Snuka, at the very least, is responsible for letting that girl die. Yeah, tons of pro-wrestlers are (were ?) sleazebags. But very few are pretty sure responsible for the death of other human beings. Benoit is one. Snuka is another. So, a graphic would have been more than enough, really. The reaction live was indeed super awkward, which pretty much tells the story too.
  16. Parv is just being an hideous troll at this point. Just deplorable. He'd be gone if I were a mod. Agreed. Honestly, I already was baffled by the fact she would take a photo of that amazingly intimate, strong and sad moment in life and post it on Twitter, which is also a public forum. This kind of moment should be only shared with the closest family and friends. The way people use social media to "share" intimate parts of their life is just insane to me, but that's another debate.
  17. You're embarrassing yourself, really. And you still don't understand the point being made, which had nothing to do with the fact he was never proven guilty during a trial and had everything to do with human decency. But whatever. You're a waste of time.
  18. Indeed. Because it's useless even arguing with you about anything. You just don't listen. Hell, you won't even admit you're talking out of your ass with the "He was acquitted" bullshit while it's being point out to you numerous times how much bullshit it is.
  19. You're not that dense, are you ? It is not about what you think. Nobody fucking cares. It's about showing a little bit of decency on the part of the WWE. Imagine if someone from the family had to see this "great tribute to a fallen hero of the dignified pro-wrestling family". For fuck's sake. It's embarrassing. In any other field, movie, legit sport, music or whatever, this stuff would have been eviscerated on social medias. (And as far as "rumour and innuendos" go, just go get some infos first instead of talking out of your ass. Your no-selling of Bix setting you straight was pretty typical of your unbearable attitude.)
  20. It's not about what you think, Parv, especially when it's that supid (really, "I have faith about the judicial system" ? In what world are you living in ?). You don't care about women being beat up and killed by assholes. We got that. Clap clap clap. Hooray for you. Other people are horrified, especially when the guys doing the deeds are being celebrated and escape justice because of their social rank. It's about WWE making a fucking video tribute to a (most probably) women murderer not long after the family of the victim was denied any kind of justice, after 30 years of fighting. A RIP graphic was enough, really. This was fucking tasteless and showed a complete lack of empathy, care and decency. That's all there is to it.
  21. Empathy. A woman die every few minutes or so victims of men who beat them up. So yeah. Fuck tribute video to some cokehead who avoided justice because he was famous in a sleazy business. And fuck people who celebrate him because he was some "childhood hero".
  22. El-P replied to ...TG's topic in WWE
Fuck this shit. So hard. Interesting indeed. Some days, I just want to close the door on this shit once and for all. These people have no balls whatsoever.
  23. WWE. Diva Revolution. Tribute video to woman murderer Jimmy Snuka. #childhoodheroes>>>womanabuse
  24. Yeah, it's nice they paid tribute to a women murderer who played dumb to avoid a trial. Very nice indeed. What is human decency compared to the childhood memories of aging pro-wrestling fans ? I'm sure Nancy Argentino's family didn't take it as another painfull slap in the face. Fuck this. And honestly, fuck people and their dear "childhood memories".
