Even going into the details of how they produce guys, they gave him that stupid "It's me, it's me, it's DDP" cactphrase at the beginning of a dull music theme, whereas he had the "Self-high five" which in WCW was as iconic as the glass breaking in term of sound stimulus.ANd let's not even mention the treatment of Kanyon BTW. Wait, where is Kanyon ? Wasn't he nominated ? As far as Lioness goes, she's one who took a massive plunge as I was seeing more of her. In 99, I was a big fan. By 2002, I was rolling my eyes at her work and booking approach. Her coming to ARSION definitely killed what was fun about the promotion. Her fake shoot fight with Hotta in 95 is the most horrendously overrated stiffness jerkfest ever. I'm glad Chiggy will end up higher (and I'm not exactly a Chiggy fan).

Yeah, that's my whole point about how he made all the wrong choices. Balls could work. Hell, he had fun matches with Matt striker on WWECW. He could do comedy too. the whole chairshot was so dangerous and needless.

I voted for Chono last time around, probably because I had watched his peak years (which is great) not too long before. I couldn't justify him getting near my top 100 this time around. DDP was my #96. I never thought I'd get so much love. Biggest overrachiever in US pro-wrestling, if not worldwide. For every bad idea or promo he had, whatever political pull he benefited, this guy was a super late starter, worked his ass off to become a really good worker and one of the best carrier of his era. What he got out of Goldberg and Sting in 98/99 is off the chart. He made his finisher the most over move even before Austin, and Randy Orton owes him the only good part of his game. Talking about guys who loved the business, here's one, and at the end of the day, he was a huge positive. Oh, and whenever I hear the argument that "he liked to pre-plan everything", I think of Randy Savage, I think of everytime I hear about how great Cena is, and I chuckle. Oh, and he had the hottest wife too and remained friend with her after they split, which is another accomplishment. Love me some DDP.

I'd say Stephy, still, because Dixie's influence is irrelevant. I don't think her being out of the way would change much for TNA anyway. I mean, that promotion has been a joke for day one, but at least he got some guys some paydays. Stephy shaped the WWE has we know it now when she got the head of creative back in the days. The product still suffers from that formula.

Yeah, that is interesting. Footage showing up is nice. But if no ones watching it, well... Exactly the same reason why joshi does badly now. The footage is over there, but no one's watching anymore. I'm guilty of it as much as anyone both for lucha and joshi BTW.

Jerry Lynn is my #92, and with all the TNA stuff that adds up, he would have been higher. He had his flaws, but who doesn't. Had so many good to excellent matches with so many people and was smarter than it seems when you just don't pay attention. Terrific worker. I know Gino Hernandez has been helped a lot by NWAClassics it seems, which I don't watch, but man his work in WCCW was the shit. I guess he was already too cocked up by then. Dick Slater, I dunno. My favourite feud part of his career his Mid-South with Dark Journey. Never struck me as better than solid at best, and the Terry Funk obsession was actively distracting at times.

He looked like a giant rat lately, so it's not surprising. When you treat your body like that, well... I hate his gimmick which consisted of bashing someone's head as hard as he could with a chair. It was awful and dangerous and certainly caused tons of concussions and brain cells loss. What's even stupider is that the guy could have been a good worker, as showed whenever he tried to actually work. Talented guy ruined by a shitty gimmick and a junkie lifestyle.

What would be interesting is the result of the 2006 voters, to see how we have evolved actually (or rather, what the rest of us thinks now).

Me too actually ! I thought he would have dropped way earlier with my only #100 vote. I love Raven even more now that I'm watching his TNA work BTW. And yeah. That Jarrett quote. After watching WCW 99-01 and as I'l going through early TNA, the "super smart worker" stuff had me rolling, as he instead shows terrible instinct at times.

Yes. Those *matches* are really good. Thanks to the Funks, Brody (yes) and Stan Hansen. Whenever Snuka gets in, it's like "fuck no ! tag out !". Having a bad match with Ricky Steamboat in the 80's (well, at anytime really) is inexcusable. Even the fucking Sheik had a better match with Steamboat.

Like I said before. I'm shocked and delighted.

Post prime. Snuka from late 70's till 83-84 was pretty damn great. Fuck no. He was so boring in All Japan during that time. Hell, when Brody is carrying your ass as a tag-team partner, you suck. The 1-2 punch of Booker/Chavo pics cracked me up.

Snuka. Our first murderer of the night. Him at #13 is insane too, as he more than often sucked dick. He had a cool finisher for the time, but damn was he nothing otherwise.

Kroffat ! My #57, and I thought I would have been the high vote on him. His work in All Japan is just amazing. Went to the US too late, and was never booked in a way that favored his rather dull look, although he was a terrific dickhead. That pic is glorious too. 13th of my list off. Funny quote from him, talking about his tag partner Doug Furnas "He looks like a Greek god. I just look like a Greek." I'm kinda amazed and delighted my #100 has not showed up yet.

Taker has *a lot* of brutal matches. It's funny how he got that rep of super worker because of a bunch of self-conscious epics at Mania.

PPV 32 Well, the last part of this PPV was quite decent. AJ Styles vs Jeff Jarrett was a good Nitro main event. Jarrett worked pretty hard but he’s definitely not a main-eventer, there’s something about him that just keeps things from getting really dramatic. Doesn’t help either that he gets booed as a babyface against heelish AJ Styles, who’s work here is impeccable, totally working along to Jeff’s strenghts and pacing. Still, pretty much a my turn-your turn match with overbooking galore at the end, with no less than six run-ins : Zbyszko to help Styles by cheating, JJ Dillon to get him out of there, the Harris nazis to fuck Jarrett, Vader (yeah, Vader !) to beat them up, Dusty to help Vader and finally Siaki & Desire to screw Jarrett. Larry Z. and Siaki really would have been enough. And the Stroke is such a terrible looking finish despite AJ Styles making it as good as it can be. Raven & Low-ki vs Sandman & Steve Corino was a good little ECW on TNN main event, with Low-ki looking really tiny but also working very well with those guys. Some interesting twists by Raven on his requisite drop-toe-hold on a chair spot. Sandman also took part in quite a decent segment called The Interrogators where Tenay & West drop short questions and word associations for 60 seconds. And Raven had a decent little promo earlier on too, tying up stuff with the old ECW storyline. These guys are saving the show from… …more SEX garbage, including more Harris Boys boredom in a tag tournament match against AMW. Still no brackets and only one match this week. More Disco Inferno fantasy booking. Amazing that they actually turn their own suckiness (talking about Russo & Gilberti) into actual characters and angles, which of course actually suck too. And worst of all, in a typical Russo fashion, getting some Tough Enough reject called Jonah so they can actually promote WWE’s TV. Plus woman with big boobs treated as a sex object. Whatever. Everything Gilberti and Sanders have been involved with has been complete garbage. And in a great moment of booking fuck up, Jerry Lynn who won an X-division title match the previous week gets a shitty triple-threat with both SATs, while Paul London who was defeated by Jerry Lynn is getting an X-division title match. Clap clap clap. The jokes writes themselves. So, London vs Kash was very indierrific and full of contrived spots with usual Kash sloppy-as-fuck-ness, but it’s obvious London has potential already. Trinity doesn’t do a moonsault. The undercard mostly sucks, the booking sucks, but the main event scene with AJ Styles & Raven thrown in just makes thing much better as long as Russo isn’t too involved. The X-division has become an afterthough though at this point, so what made TNA’s identity in the first months is gone.
