The Fantastics
Fulton is very underrated. I'm kinda surprised about the love they seem to recieve here, as they are very much a workrate tag team. No wonder they ended up in Japan to end they career. I'm not sure where I stand with them anymore. Always liked them a lot, but my appreciation for Ricky Morton got up quite a bit after my WCW/SMW watch, so maybe I'd have the Rock'n Roll Express higher at this point. Or maybe not, and only Morton's stock went way up. Great team anyway.

The High Flyers
I've watched a bunch recently. Terrific team, really. Greg Gagne was much better than I would have guessed from his rep, and Brunzell was much better than thought too. Need to rewacht a bunch of Killer Bees, although Brian Blair's dull ass may be hard to swallow (or maybe I underrate him a bit ?).

The Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane)
After a while, even I got used to Lane's idiotic kicks. Awesome team of course.

The Fabulous Ones
I've seen them in several territories, as heels and faces, in brawls and traditionnal matches, and I've yet to find a case where they don't bore me. Keirn in particular brings nothing to the table to me. Looks like a midget Hulk Hogan minus the charisma (and work, honestly), and Lane was sloppier than during his MX days. Way overrated.

Buddy Rose & Doug Somers
Doug Sommers is the American version of Akira Taue. Nowhere near as good, but you now what I mean.

Rick Martel
Yep. Martel doesn't let Stan eat him alive either, he's just losing it after a while. The title change with Stan wasn't a brawl, although with Hansen it always kinda is, but it's one hell of an intense match. The addition of Stan + fighing babyface never fails to deliver, and Martel was a terrific fighting babyface. The ending is classic too.

Rick Martel
Just watched that one. Excellent bloodletting with great selling on both part. If that's not a really good brawl, nothing is. The only thing that sucked in this match was the referee, totally out of position, fucking up the counts by being too slow at first and then doing a fast count at the end. Just horrid. But Martel was terrific in this match, just bleeding, selling and making great comebacks. The spot where he stops himself from bumping into the cage, stays in position and simply turns his head back toward Zhukov is excellent. Loved that stuff. Martel ruled. And I loved the Model gimmick too, no matter if he didn't get to work the super matches, he was too much fun at this time working the gimmick.

Rick Martel
Martel said it himself in his shoot interview, although he loved the Model gimmick (who wouldn't, it was awesome), his heart wasn't totally into wrestling at this point as he was turning his interests into real-estate at the same time. Which is also why he never got pushed more or got better opportunities than he did.

ECW ? How exciting. And original too.

Your Current Fav Five
1/ Rick Martel Babyface champ. Fire fire ! 2/ Nick Bockwinkel Heel challenger. What a rude asshole. 3 & 4/ High Flyers Greg Gagne was actually quite decent. And Brunzell much better than I ever thought. Pretty terrific team. 5/ Rusev And Lana. And Lana's skirt. The thing I liked the most when he debuted around Mania last year, and the only thing that still gets my interest now.

Dave Meltzer stuff
This. Around this place, Mark Henry is ridiculously overrated to me. Elsewhere, he's probably ridiculously underrated. And it's not like I waited for the insane Mark Henry trendish craze to enjoy the guy. Hell, I liked Mark Henry when he was a green-ass guy in the Nation back in the late 90's. Always liked good big men. But really, this match on Raw with Big Show was decent at best even if you enjoy plodding stuff. This too. Reminds me the same Mark Henry having a match with CM Punk a few years ago on TV and it had been called a MOTYC. It was like a ten minutes good TV match. Fun for what it was and well worked. And Henry was nothing special, but quite solid. But these days, *solid* seems like an insult. Everyting has to be *awesome* if you want to give any praise.

Worst Professional Wrestler Ever?
Disco was more than competent, and actively good at times. And he made the most out of a gimmick that had no legs. He would be in a worst potential bookers ever list however.

[1999-07-18-ECW-Heatwave] Dudley Boys vs Spike Dudley & Balls Mahoney
Hated all the matches these guys had together. The DudLeys were mostly unwatchable to me after the bell rung. And this works for Spike too, although less offensive since he was a decent freak pinball. Balls I just can't watch anymore.

Oh fuck, I totally forgot about that. Yeah, them bitches fake the abuse like they fake the pregnancy. I'd really love to know Russo's real life issues with women.

Yeah. Just a regular guy from New Jersey. Who beats up his girl apparently. Maaaaaaan. I wonder if Russo kept his job in WWF, how long could they sustain their momentum with shit like this ?

It's a total work. And it's not awesome. It's the Fingerpoke of Doom of NJ, of sorts.

[1999-01-07-WCW-Thunder] Raven vignettes
I loved those. Totally goofy. Sandman as the clean family friend cracked me up, as did Kanyon ridiculous bump in the pool. Chastity had a unique look too, but she would slut it up a notch pretty quickly.

[1999-01-11-WCW-Nitro] Raven vignette
No. Thankfully, since Piper was awful by this point. But yeah, they were supposed to go somewhere, with the idea that Raven idolized Piper when he was younger, and probably references to their days in Portland at some point when Piper was some kind of "mentor" to Levy.

Well, thank you for saying so. If it had been anyone else, stuff like this would still be mentionned *all the time* in a rightfully mocking fashion.
