  1. They should have gone shooty a bit on this one, playing up on the fact Terri used to date Pillman for a while before she met Dustin. If you believe Terri's shoot interview, the pay-off would have been awesome, with Dustin and Terri renewing their vows in a wedding ceremony, only to have Marlena betray Goldust and go back with Pillman, complete with a beatdown and Terri's wedding gown sprayed with blood. Damn, I would have loved this.
  2. I don't think Mongo looked that bad. Yeah, he screwed up some stuff, and at one point Sting kinda refused to go up for a suplex and grabbed the top rope, which led o a badly blown spot, but he also delivered some dynamic athletic big man offense. People forget he was a banged up 40 year old rookie thrown into upper-midcard matches/TV main events right away. Anyway, decent match, nothing special. Savage barely hits the ring. Speculation that Flair was in the limo. That would have been too much. This week's Nitro was on the lighter side as far as nWo angle went, with nothing much happening apart from Hall & Nash crashing the TV truck. And yeah, that Benoit/Woman confrontation is uncomfortable as all hell to watch now.

Indeed. I got a kick out of Austin talking about the Hakushi theme.
  4. Doesn't bother me for the guys, as it worked wonders for guys like Goldberg or even Batista. I agree about the women though. Pretty misogynic infact.

    I was talking about Sable.

Since they are so big on nostalgia, it's a bit surprising they never tried to get her back for at least one appearance then.

I ever understood the appeal of Lita one way or another. Extremely shitty worker and not very good looking either. And yeah, as much as I couldn't stand her, Sable was actually a legit ratings draw for a short while. Is she still with Brock BTW ?
  8. Hall & Nash punk both heels and babyfaces. Hogan's promo was excellent, he took everything annoying about his character and real life personna, and turned it into a terrific heel character. Semi-shoot stuff thrown in, but in a total pro-wrestling, heat inducing way. It was still kinda odd that all of a sudden Hall & Nash don't get to talk, but it was still the time for Hogan to establish his heel character, and he was the ultimate draw for the nWo. Cool to see WCW guys surrounding the ring at the end. The nWo angle is slowly developping, and it's awesome so far.
  9. I really enjoyed Wright, including his Berlyn character. WCW was stupid for not pushing him better than he was, his evil foreigner gimmick was instant heat with WCW crowds, even in 1999. I don't think he was hurt that much, as apparently he was pretty smart with his money and got out from the business early. Yeah, Disco in 2001 in the WWF would have got over easily. And he could work too. The mileage he got from a mid-card comedy gimmick is pretty impressive actually.
  10. Laid-back interview. These guys are the coolest heel in the place now.
  11. Pretty good match too, and yep, it felt like a old-school WCW Saturday Night match from the early 90's. Gotta love how both Sting and Arn immediately stop fighting to confront the Outsiders. Sting cuts a money promo, probably his best ever (up to that point at least). Amazing how everyone stepped up their game. Savage's promo is kinda goofy in comparison, but still good in an insane Savage way. He called Hulk "Hollywood" for the first time I believe. But yeah, that Sting promo "No ! You stick it Hulk ! You stick it !"

Did anyone listened to the episode with Jim Johnston ? Was it interesting ?
  13. You can feel Hogan was nervous cutting the promo, but he pulls off a rare *money* promo for the ages here, and I actually got shivers rewatching the whole thing. This is pro-wrestling at its absolute best, this is heat, and Hogan reinvents himself as the biggest draw in wrestling for the next year and a half again. I wonder how Vince and his office reacted when they saw this. They must have saw the writing on the wall at this point. On Heenan's call, yeah, it fit his character and his long term relationship with Hogan, and he redeems himself afterward with "I told you all along", but shouting "Whose side is he on ?" twice did hurt the moment a bit. Schiavone was exceptionnal during the whole match though, and his call at the end, complete with adding "straight to hell" and dumping his mic down, remains my favourite pro-wrestling call ever. Just perfect. Yeah, this was awesome. WCW could begin to print $$$ now.
  14. Smarkschoice used to be a great place in the mid 00's (I know, this isn't answering your question).
  15. Vader's 1993 Timeline was on the boring side. Vader tells a few interesting stuff, but he also talks a whole lot about how great he was, how great his contract was, how great he and Austin as a team would have been, how great the Foley feud was etc… You really don't get the feel of WCW in 93 from an interview like that.
  16. Cool. Right now instead of the secondary title we see the date at which the thread was started, which really is of no use and actually quite confusing to me. Otherwise, seems like a great new setup. And I also enjoy the fact this stupid "like" function is off.

"Twitter-sphere" and "social medias" as generalization are just as retarded and annoying to me. And you hear it all the time, everywhere.
  18. Another great angle. The crowd in Charlotte popped hard for Hall & Nash, which is a sign of bad things to come. These guys are already cooler than those WCW goofs with warpaints on. Schiavone was a terrific announcer during the development of the nWo angle, he doesn't get nearly enough credit because everybody always thinks about bad Tony from later on.
  19. Luger almost saying WWF was funny since you could think he was gonna be the third man. Well, ok, not really, but in the course of *that* angle, it wasn't a big deal since Hall & Nash were essentially New York.
  20. All the details (dates, TV shows) from the Yearbooks threads have disapeared. I can't picture the headaches... (well apparently it's because there are no secondary titles to the threads anymore. sigh.)
  21. The crowd is popping hard for Barbie's bombs. Basically Barbie killing Eddie with huge spots until he tries one too many. A little bit too much "slipping on a banana peel" victory to me, but they were still pushing Eddie above his weightclass, which was good.
  22. But who the third man will be ? Shawn Michaels ? 1-2-3 Kid ? British Bulldog ?? Anyway, Hogan's name being booed out of the building clearly shows he was the absolute perfect choice for the angle. You want to boo him ? We'll give you a reason. (Cena anyone ?)
  23. Really fun brawl that looked fresh in comparison with all those routine matches Flair was having otherwise. The champagne spot and the Heenan chase were terrific touches. Like Loss said, you can feel they are wrapping things up to let the stage clear for the upcoming nWo, but not in an obvious ways, are there are still a lot of stuff going on especially with the Horsemen vs Dungeon of Doom. Flair coming down the ring with the three hot women was awesome.
  24. Thinking this came almost back to back with the first Mysterio match, and before the big nWo puts Eric through the platform angle/New Horsemen angle, it's amazing how much great things WCW had going on. This PPV was the turning point to me, WCW was clearly on fire from this point on.
