WCW Head Bookers
Ok, thanks. I'll never understand the relationship between Hogan and Savage at this point. There was some hostility dating back from his divorce with Liz which he partially blamed on Hogan and Linda, et Savage seemed to align with Hogan no matter what in WCW, and ended up playing the role of his bitch like he always has before. Why wouldn't Savage support a guy like Flair who was just much closer to himself in term of work ethic ? Savage vs Flair was the best thing Savage did in WCW next to his program with DDP. It's just bizarre to me why Savage would follow Hogan's lead, he was a big enough star on his own. Insecurity maybe.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
I heard about this before. Yes, this sucks. But hey, if I had to bother with the political opinions or social behavior of pro-wrestlers and affiliated, I just wouldn't watch pro-wrestling at all.

WCW Head Bookers
Does anyone know exactly when Sullivan became the booker in 1995 ?

At first I didn't enjoy Caudle much for the reasons Jerry mentionned, especially paired with Ross. The two didn't compliment each other. Then I watched SMW, where Caudle worked with Ducth Mantell for two years. And pretty quickly, this duo developped a dynamic that I would put against anyone, they were excellent together, Caudle as the no nonsense guy and Dutch as the fantastic heel color man. I wouldn't say Caudle was Lance Russel in SMW, has clearly he wasn't (and really, no one is), but he really clicked with Mantell and he was really fucking good during that period playing the straight guy balancing Mantell's hilarious insanity with a good sense of humour himself and the exact right amount of outrage at the heel's actions and not to much blatant fanboyism for the babyface. Watch Caudle in SMW, at first I thought I would not enjoy him based on my WCW experience, but I quickly turned the corner.

[1995-03-18-WCW-Saturday Night] Vader and Dave Sullivan
Very good angle. Once again, Flair deserves some credit to get some heat on that feud, which is something Hogan just wasn't able or willing to do. Bobby Heenan jumping out to calm Flair down was a nice touch. And they killed Dave Sullivan, which is as fun as Waylon Mercy killing the clown. Flair is having a mental breakdown. I like this. Flair promo at the end of the show was pretty intense too.

[1995-03-11-WCW-Saturday Night] Steven Regal and Bobby Eaton
Finally something fun on WCW TV. I'm glad they gave this role to Eaton, who was doing exactly nothing for the last two years except makeshift tag team with Benoit (which would have been great if Benoit had stayed) and makeshift tag team with Keirn (which was awful and the worst thing Eaton was ever part of). Regal is gold here.

[1995-03-04-WCW-Saturday Night] Vader and Hulk Hogan
Retardation. Heel getting heat ? What a dumb concept. Hogan won't have none of that shit. Until he would turn heel of course. When does Kevin Sullivan begins to book ?

SMW Ongoing Thread
The beginning of 1995 was pretty good. I wish Lawler would have been seen on TV more than just cutting a few promos on pre-tape. Buddy Landell was more than a welcome addition on the heel side, tremendous worker and promo man. His short match with DWB on TV was really good for what it was. I enjoy the whole Cornette vs Gangstas feud quite a bit, with an awesome backstage brawl that goes outside the building and what seems to be a pretty good match with the Bodies on 01/28. The promos were akward though, with too much race baiting. The evolution of Cornette turning into a tweener and aligning himself with the Rock'nRoll and Bob Armstrong just because of the circumstances was cool and really smoothly done, although it does give the impression that it's everybody against the black guys... There's something that deeply doesn't work about that whole Gangstas stuff, but it's enjoyable nonetheless. On the flip side, I enjoyed Candido vs Boo at first when Cactus was involved, but now that it turned into cat squashing and dog food stip, I don't care anymore. They should have used the fact Candido was the NWA champion more instead of setling him in a "comedic" feud with Boo. Eddie Gilbert showing up is a nice surprise, although I'm definitly not a big fan of his in-ring work. Of course it's basically a way to get Unabomb into the mix, and thus far it's been ugly. Veteran Kane is boring and not-good enough, green Kane is just terrible. I know that soon Al Snow will take Gilbert's place, I'm curious to see his work here.

Bullet Bob is putting on a good fight, but the Gangstas beat him down. Feel the racial tension un the crowd... Yeah, good angle but...

Your Current Fav Five
If we're talking about all time favourites : Yoshiaki Tamura : poetry in motion. The best shoot-style worker ever. Mariko Yoshida : see above + workrate style from Zenjo + ultimate stylish wrestler (best outfit ever). Her first 12 months in ARSION were my favourite pro-wrestling ever. Aja Kong : These days I would probably put Bull ahead of her, but I have loved Aja so much for so long. Steve Austin : responsible for the best years I had watching US wrestling. The more I watch him as I dig deeper into his career the more I love his work. Need to see his Dallas work some day as what I read from the Yearbook threads sounds fun to me. Terry Funk : the best ever. If we're talking about these days : Barry Windham : always been a big fan, and going through his WCW years from 91 to 93 has been a blast. Chris Candido : like Funk (or Sabu, sure me!), I never ever get tired of watching this guy. So much fun from his very early days to his very last. Bobby Eaton : He was my favourite wrestler in WCW in 1990. Just an incredibly solid worker who was already quite fantastic in Memphis in his very early days, then of course the entire MX run, and whenever he pops up on a B-show on WCW TV it's always good to watch him work. Vader : man this guy had such a terrific stint in Japan and WCW. Such a unique worker in every way, with tons of classics on his hands. It's too bad the WWF clipped his wings because he should have been huge there too. Raven : yeah, in any incarnation I'm a Scott Levy fan. I'll need to see his Portland stuff one day too. A guy who obviously loves wrestling and to me it translates into his work, depsite his physical limitations. And I love the depressed moody character, I guess because I'm a depressed and moody human being myself, with all the annoyance that goes with it for me and others.

I would guess because the tatoos were very recognizable and he had been on WWF TV before showing those tatoos. I guess after a while they didn't care anymore once the guy was established.

I don't feel like dropping Hash's spot of the GOAT poll was trolling. It was a way to demonstrate that Hash has been highly thought of for quite some time, although not as high as you (and maybe me as a matter of fact, although I don't remember how high I voted him back then) would want to. You have chosen to ignore that point and come back with petty personnal shots at me instead. You way of dealing with it I guess.
