  1. So, 100 million $ down the drain. Jeez, could I have just one, I promise I'll do a much better use than this.
  2. Ah, Vader being Vader was great. He really had *it*, he was special.
  3. Red hot debut for Ray Trailor. What was the situation with Davey ? Was he fired for any specific reasons ? He sure didn't last very long despite having good matches with Vader. Anyway, the whole gimmick infringement is so blatant here, what were they thinking ? Of course coming back as Big Bubba would probably wouldn't have got a superstar reaction like it did here. Bubba was off AJPW, so it's not exactly a jump from WWF to WCW, still just a few months after Gene Okerlund it's indeed quite interesting to see Bossman in WCW as a sign of things to come. The difference being that Trailor was still in his prime, as showed by this spectacular performance, an excellent TV sprint that put a fire under Rude's ass. Best Rude match of the year ? I would say so.
  4. What the fuck ? I thought this segment was pretty disapointing. They could have edited a cool and epic video for Flair. Instead you got Gene talking about WWF and a basketball coach. What ? Not good.
  5. I've yet to see one Bruises match I enjoy in SMW (I love Rage in the Cage but it's a multi-man match so...), and I don't think I have enjoyed any in ECW. They had a few decent ones in WWF from what I remember and none in WCW (and they had that horrible corporate gimmcik there which made things even worse). One thing I'll give Ron, or Don, whoever was the one who talked, is that he wasn't a bad promo. I'm loving every minute of this too.
  6. I'm loving the DWB turn, it's done so smoothly and organically, with actual logic in how the character interact together (Tracey Smothers not helping DWB against Brian Lee). DWG showing up spices up things too. Tony Anthony is probably my biggest revelation on SMW TV. I'm not enjoying the tag team scene though, Bruises Brothers suck and the Moondogs aren't much better or interesting. Too much boring brawling matches with bad workers here, it really ruins the potential of the R'n'R and the Bodies. I'm not fond of the Bullet either, as Bob Armstrong was fine for a while, but he really can't do much in the ring, and the gimmick really feels dated. Cornette vs Bob Armstrong was pretty cool, and I don't understand why the Armstrongs were put on hold while the Bodies feud with the Bruise Brothers. Anyway, the TV is still really fun overall, but not as much as it was at the middle of the year. It's really carried by Candido on the undercard and Lee vs DWB which is a great program as far as angles go. Tracey Smothers badly need something to do.
  7. Barely decent, but that is to be expected with the Bruises. Man, this guys had a good look but they were so uninteresting in any other way. A bunch of big boots are their only semi-decent looking offense. The Bodies bump a bit but there is just nothing to bump of really. Cornette's intervention is goofy but why not ? I don't care for this program, just like I don't care for the Moondogs showing up. This is right with the other terrible teams that ended up in ECW later. No interest in that kind of lame brawling.
  8. This is embarassing.
  9. Awesome, and well done indeed. Great line.
  10. I love that Tracey is not helping DWB and that they don't ignore their past like they would in any other promotion with cheesy face and heel turns. Really well done indeed, and Tracey was really good on commentary
  11. Seriously Cornette, the Moondogs are alll about stiff chair shots to the heads and back, breaking blunders and blood. ECW ! ECW ! ECW !
  12. DWB's promo is so intense. This guy had such presence, the more I watch him there and the less I can figure why they did this to him in WWF. Bunch of yankee fuckers.
  13. Word. Good match, great angle, great turn, Ron Wright getting to fight for DWB was an awesome moment, just like it was the only time he got up from that chair before.
  14. Candido was so great so early in his career. Excellent worker, excellent promo. I love to watch him in pretty much any setting but it also makes me sad a bit. I dind't think Blaze would end up in the river, which looked dirty and muddy as hell.
  15. Someone in Titan probably saw this and thought it would be a great gimmick for Tammy...
  16. Watching the first few weeks of Okerlund in WCW, isn't he way more obnoxious than he was in WWF ? The running gag during Battlebowl with lecherous old man Okerlund fondling Fifi had run its course after the first segment... And he's already overpushing the damn hotline... But yeah, really good segment here.
  17. I really like this angle because it's so organic in turning DWB. Even as a heel he was indeed having Wright as a father figure and here he shows he does care for him. Tammy and Lee are great making fun of Wright behind his back to the point that you have to feel kinda sorry for Wright despite him being an asshole. Young punks making fun and using an old man never fails to be repulsive.
  18. Tammy is really funny here with her horrible remarks.
  19. Two things that make SMW great : Tammy's Tips : okay, Tammy was great at this point. Infuriating, obnoxious and hilarious. Darryl von Horn : namedropping a bunch of pornstars that I would guess Bob Caudle never heard the names of as the harem for his Egyptian Prince.
  20. Great last 10 minutes, one of the better ending stretch to a battle royal I've seen. As soon as the Nasties are thrown out by Dustin, it gets really good. It's amazing to think that WCW had it, they had Austin positionned as a top guy right there, they just had to go with him. What the fuck happened (don't answer me, I know...) ? Of course it's not a given they would have been able to market him, we know they wouldn't with idiots at the helm, but still, they got so close to figure it out. Anyway, the Flair beatdown is excellent, and I loved how they really had dramatic turns before the real ending. 19 years after and without knowing the result, the finish took me by surprise and I actually marked out. I love when that happens. Dusty's booking as been terrible, but if there's one bright spot on his 1993 watch, this is it (I'll concede it to Dusty although Ole was also booking then, maybe I'm wrong). Great stuff.
  21. And that's the story of this match. Too bad she wasn't feature on TV, I would have loved more Tammy vs Sherri stuff. Sherri ruled so much, and this is one of these match where she's the second best worker despite being outside of the ring.
  22. I agree. I love Cornette, but at some point, too much Cornette kinda hurt Cornette. I hate the dog gimmick too (plus I can not get that Brickhouse Brown story out of my head, be it false or true).
