Nah. Philip Seymour Hoffman as Bruce Pritchard. I can just picture him do the Brother love routine to a T. Michael Shannon would indeed be a great idea.

[1992-11-07-SMW-TV] Brian Lee vs Kevin Sullivan
What can I add that hasn't alreay been said. Just an amazing bloodletting by Sullivan. Yeah, it's quite surreal that this happened in front of a family audience, but hey, this was wrestling "as it used to be", and it produced quite an aura of absurd violence. Looked like a slaughter. The camera guy trying a save was a nice touch, just like Dutch swearing on air. Great angle.

[1992-10-24-SMW-TV] Rock & Roll Express vs Heavenly Bodies
Yes and yes. The match signed was the Bodies vs the R'R so it didn't made sense to throw the match because Gibson showed up. And yes, Ricky Morton is so great that at times you really feel Gibson was happy to be there for the ride, as showed by his very dull and uninteresting solo matches.

[1992-10-24-SMW-TV] Tracy Smothers feature
I thought it was the perfect interview for Tracy, and I love the continuity that Cornette showed with his product. Instead of bringing Smothers as a face like WCW just never happened not only it gets referenced by also gets a logical explanation. I'm really enjoy this, and Tracy sounded really genuine. Good stuff.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
They're trying too hard. Remember when RAW was all about Brock lesnar killing John Cena ? Now we get comedy with Micheal Cole. What about CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan putting on great match ? Now we get Kane and AJ girlfriend storyline mixed in. I hope some kidnapping and rape takes place, to measure up with your usual Kane storyline. I just noticed than Dolph Ziggler totally looked like Billy Gunn. I wonder what's behind the thinking process of having a Goldberg clone in 2012.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
I can only imagine how they'd react to a WWE contract, particularly the death clause. Isn't now the best period to try and unionize ? Sure, there's a monopoly, but there's also a very limited pool of talent, it's not like the WWE can dispose of a vasta array of already-made stars with big name they can buy from other companies or territories. If the 4 or 5 bigger names in WWE, including Cena of course, decide to launch an union, there's no way Vince can do anything about it, because he just has a super limited roster at this point, and a totally depleted pool of young talents he can use (not to mention WWE can't seem to be able to make new stars anymore). Of course it'll never happen, which is a shame, but I think it would actually be easier now than it ever was.

[1992-10-17-SMW-TV] Dirty White Boy and Tim Horner
Ron Wright is a great pity seeking old dirtbag, and DWB is up to the task too. Gotta give credit to Horner too, he had good facials when he's hold back by Bullet Bob, and his straight punches look great. The piano shot was pretty sweet. I'm liking these Horner vs DWB angles a lot better than anything that had involved Brian Lee.

Vince Russo
Russo came off as bad as ever. He still doesn't understand why David Arquette was a retarded idea. He still thinks every retarded angle he wrote were great and funny. And he still thinks a wrestling show that goes toward more reality based stuff can't have "blatant fake wrestling matches" on it. The most annoying thing was the bunch of Russo marks in the room who clapped for every stupid claim he made. Of course Russo is a "christian" so he can't call any woman a ho, and he loves to work with the women (as showed by his great track record I guess, he sure never booked misogynic shit with "pregnant bitch" Terri Runnels and PMS for instance...). I don't think Sean Oliver is a big Russo fan and he had some pretty funny tongue-in-cheek lines during the thing. Anyway, Russo still sounded completely full of shit.

That's awesome. As far as the big news goes, yeah, if it's less than 35 % pro-wrestling and not Brock, I doubt I'll care much if at all.

Superb match, and one of the best angle of the 90's. The Backlund turn was amazing.

[1992-10-03-SMW-TV] Interview: Tim Horner / Interview: Dirty White Boy & Ron Wright
Loved DWB and Ron Wright promos as always, I thought Horner showed good fire, and the bottle shot looked good. Two weeks in a row and Horner gets bloodied up. It's really the equivalent of Tommy Dreamer's "he's hardcore" angle in that they wanted to push Horner as a guy who could get beat up bad and come back. But Horner just has zero charisma. I thought the angle was really good again, although they probably should have done this one before the hanging. Anyway, like Loss said, DWB beating the shit out of Horner never gets old, and Wright is establishing himself as one of the biggest dipshit ever. You just want to slap the fuck out od his wheelchair everytime he's going for pity and fakes a heart attack.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
So, anyone saw the first live episode with Dixie looking like a complete mark with her big announcements being the Hall of Fame and introducing Brooke Hogan ? That was pretty embarrassing.

Vince McMahon's Amusement
I loved the Natural Disasters. Quake was a good worker, Typhoon was crazy strong and could do some cool power stuff. I agree Natural Disasters vs Beverly Brothers was really fun, but honestly I enjoy most of their stuff. Ottman in solo wasn't much of anything while Tenta was always a cool worker.

Linda McMahon for Senate catch-all thread
Well, it's a rather broad definition. I understand pornography as a more stricto sensu non simulated representation of sexual acts, or at least obscenity. Then again, maybe my definition is more "european", because quite frankly, Sable's stripping routine was not even what I'd call eroticism. Playboy photoshoot, sure, I'd put in "eroticism" category, but really, there's nothing on WWE TV that I'd strictly call "eroticism". I guess the lingerie matches and stupid pillow fights in the early 00's would fall under very soft eroticism. But really, no boobs, no wood. Of course, sex sells, but I think having sexy characters doesn't mean you're drawning into eroticims or and even less in pornography. I mean, I was sexually excited as a young teenager by Sensationnal Sherri's miniskirts and boots. The misogynic aspect is the one to point out thought. The Molly Holly/Mickie James are fat asses angles, Vince making Trish walk like a dog and other humiliating and degrading stuff is way more offensive than Sable showing some skin.

SMW Ongoing Thread
I'm in mid September. Some really good stuff at this time : _Heavenly Bodies transitioning from the Fantastics to the Rock'n Roll Express, and it's really good from the get go. When did Ricky Morton began to slow down, because it's 1992 and he's as great as ever. Great chemistry with Lane of course and Pritchard as well. _Ronnie Garvin vs Paul Orndorff is giving us good stiff old-school wrestling, and despite the relative silliness of having Garvin getting worker up about his towels (ah ah), this is really solid stuff in the ring. _DWB and Tim Horner feud is much better than anything involving Brian Lee. Sure, Horner has no charisma at all, and cuts bad promos, but he's just so crisp and solid in the ring that it can only lead to good matches. I really don't mind Tim Horner working on top for a while. Ron Wright falling out of his wheelchair when Horner pins DWB on TV is pretty great. I don't care at all about the Brian Lee stalker and bounty storyline though. Bring out Sullivan and let's have some bloodletting already.
