Dave Meltzer stuff
The Dave/PWG stuff is getting a little weird, isn't it? Guys doing spotty matches with moves named after him and then looking to him to get 5-star approval with the whole crowd looking on? 2016 indy wrestling has passed me by.

Booker Ratings
I would rank Jerry Jarrett highly in all of these categories. Anyone think there is somewhere he falls short?

I would imagine there are financial issues preventing Rush-Park as much as anything. Hopefully it happens someday.

youtube links in order
You can pretty much watch 79-89 Memphis in order on YT. It's a wonderful world we live in in 2016.

Awesome channel here, is this 1986 Fuerza Guerrera-Negro Casas match well circulated? I haven't seen it, now I have 30 full years of evidence of Negro being amazing - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXckHV9Hc88.

Gymnastics in pro wrestling/the Ricochet-Ospreay/Vader drama
Crowds popping for this stuff makes me feel like Meltzer must have felt when fans were going crazy for Hogan and Warrior in the 80s, it's like they're exploiting the worst tendencies of modern fandom. I feel the same way with a lot of Young Bucks stuff. But if people dig it then great, I can watch Gulak or NXT or finish watching every Memphis TV show ever produced.

Best YouTube & Dailymotion Channels
Just noticed this already fun channel put up a WMC broadcast of the 10/8/88 Memphis TV show, is this rare or is there some place I should be grabbing these from - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6tFj4ECL5g.

Has ROH Gotten TOO Big For It's Own Good
It's a joke that WWE has created an alternative brand with a more passionate fanbase than ROH. Imagine WWE trying to create its own indy fed to compete with 2005 ROH or 1995 ECW, people would view it as a reason to rally behind their own guys. It's a complete joke that Bayley and Chad Gable are so much more over than any regular ROH act. Wrestling needs a strong alternative brand presenting fresh ideas and talent and ROH is not that place anymore, Evolve is in business with WWE, I guess PWG is the closest thing?

Current Lucha Talk
I don't want to regurgitate any bad feelings from GWE, but just for this thread, seeing Negro have two matches that good but that different in the same week, 30 years after his first recorded MOTYC, all I'm saying is let's start spreading the gospel for 2026.

Current Lucha Talk
Love seeing this thread so active. CMLL has felt pretty inspired since last August, Rush is probably my favorite overall performer in this post-Bryan world, and the company has so many talented guys. The Friday night streams have been a blessing.

WWE 1993
I'm a big fan of 1993 Raw because I see it as the fun mixture of Vince McMahon and Jerry Jarrett wrestling since Jarrett was consulting at that time. It really was WWF meets Memphis with the high-energy live show in the same small building every week and unpredictable stuff like Kid beating Razor or Jannetty returning and beating HBK. You never got stuff like that on Superstars.

Homenaje a Dos Leyendas Card
So it was a pretty great show. Rush deserves so much more hype on the Internet, there are few wrestlers now who convey their character so well in everything they do in the ring. Main event was slightly disappointing in that it was a Volador match more than a Negro match but still fun and I can't believe Negro took a power bomb off the apron to the floor.

WWE TV 2/22 - 2/28/16
I'm not sure what Dave is talking about. Decent seats haven't been available for months. They're going to shatter the gate record. I've never seen anything like this. The cheapest Takeover ticket on StubHub is $350. The HOF sold out in minutes while last year was thousands short of a sell out.

Homenaje a Dos Leyendas Card
If anyone is undecided on where Negro should rank on the GWE poll after 30 years of greatness, I'm sure this will help.

Hulk Hogan
The tricky thing about Brock is that 2015 was the year he was most heavily leaned on as a draw and we don't know how to evaluate it. I think the Network numbers were a positive reflection of his drawing power at Mania, SummerSlam, and HITC. But we have nothing to compare it with.

Watching wrestling under the influence
Whenever I'm drinking I feel like watching Negro Casas or Memphis and I always end up happy.

Bret Hart vs Steve Austin
I was at Mania 13. I remember Austin's promo during the pre-show, when he said, "Bret, you keep talking about getting screwed, well I'm not bringing a condom to the ring, just a can of whoop-ass", or something like that. The buzz from the crowd after that was so great. That, the pop when he unwrapped the chair from his ankle and hit Bret with it, and the drama of the final sharpshooter were the moments where I really realized WWE had something special.

Legitimately great WWWF matches?
Awesome idea for a thread. WWWF stuff can be so hard to work through so getting these recommendations from you guys is really helpful. I love the Dusty/Graham stuff so I know it can be good.

Negro Casas
To me the greatness of Casss is in his weekly work, even more than his best matches. You can hop on YouTube and grab a random 6-man from the early 90s and find him making Haku look like the biggest ass kicker in the world. I want to quit my job in 3 weeks and take some time off so either I'll make this big post about Casas or thoroughly document the greatness of 80s Memphis TV.

Negro Casas
Another great match from Negro yesterday at age 55. The guy isn't human. He's defying the rules of aging that apply to all other humans. It's him and Barbaro against the Misticos.
