JvK books WCW in 1991
Yeah, unfortunately, I think WCW made the right call here. Sting vs. Dory, Harley, Brisco, Dusty, and Rich headlining PPV's in 1991????? Or ever???? And 16 minute Bellomo vs. Rose is unforgivable. Your TV showed no real evidence of better things to come.

Dave Meltzer stuff
The new issue is fantastic. Not only is there the Brock/Orton/Jericho/Bryan/Miz work/shoot information, but Dave writes a wonderful bio for Scott Williams and details his trip to the Wrestling Hall of Fame.

JvK books WCW in 1991
There was a guy on the old EWBattleground board who did a WCW 1991 Fantasy Diary and he brought in Stan Lane, Ronnie Garvin, and Jeff Jarrett with mega pushes, pushed the Freebirds to the top of the tag division, and turned Zenk heel and made him an associate of Mr. Bob Backlund. You have big shoes to fill.

"He's ambitiously stupid" - Why Scott Keith's new book is scary bad
That's all fine when it's something a guy actually has control over. You can't control how someone throws you into the turnbuckles for the buckle bomb. The reason I posted it here is because Keith sounds so assured in that belief, that I wanted to make sure I wasn't totally misinformed about this. I agree that there's a huge difference in throwing someone into a turnbuckle/guard rail or over the top rope versus normal everyday moves. Also, even if wrestlers place the burden of responsibility on the move taker, doesn't injuring Sting, Balor, and Cena in less than a year mean something? Has anyone every solely knocked so many major players out of commission in a career, let alone in a year?

"He's ambitiously stupid" - Why Scott Keith's new book is scary bad
Scott Keith on Rollins' injuring Sting and Balor with powerbombs - "It’s kind of unfair to blame Seth for the injuries, because wrestling is fake and he’s not actually performing the bump, the victim is. Just like if you throw your opponent out of the ring and they injure themselves, that’s on them, not on you."

WWE Network... It's Here
The AJ/Club section is fantastic if only for their reaction to the GPS voice surprising them.

A VERY SPECIAL Between the Sheets = Brawl for All (Featuring Jordan Breen)
I watched a few fights concurrently with this show (Gunn/Holly, Severn/Godfather, Gunn/Godfather, Bradshaw/Droz, and Gunn/Bradshaw) and I thought they were a total blast. I think they hold up better now than they did at the time, at least in terms of entertainment value. It was an absurd idea presented in a very flawed way, but at least it was something different. You can say the ceiling was low for Gunn regardless, but it's a shame they never truly capitalized on him coming out of the tournament looking like a world-beater.

Hyperthetical: you find Vince's personal diary dating back to 1983
I think his reaction to Pillman, Owen, Eddie, or Benoit's death would be most eye-opening. To see how he combines grief with business making decisions and worry about negative press would be interesting.

Between the Sheets #54 (July 27-August 2, 1991) (Featuring Michael Sempervive)
Semp is fantastic on this show. Only through WWF and Japan so far, but the Pee-Wee Herman and Wrestlefest talk could be Best Of Volume 2 contenders.

WWE Network... It's Here
The night of the Benoit Raw was supposedly going to feature the first appearance of his brother Rod McMahon on WWE TV. He was backstage.

The Most Useless Tag Team or Stable Ever?
I'd get more specific and say the Harris Twins may be the team that had the most runs in the big two promotions and did the least.

Dave Meltzer stuff
He was asked about that on Twitter and gave the impression that he's had a standing offer each year and chose this year because he'd be able to attend the ceremony in person. But he obviously didn't want to disparage Keller or Oliver or any other guy that got in ahead of him recently.

[1993-02-22-WWF-Raw] The Undertaker vs Skinner
He faced Mr. Perfect a month later at Road To Wrestlemania IX. I believe that is his last televised match. He may have done some work as Doink #2 after that though.

The WWE Global Cruiserweight show
He's already better than the majority of announcers in WWE. Not that that necessarily means anything.
-
Dave Meltzer stuff
Dave compared it as "big sister" vs. aging into "one of mom's friends".
-
Dave Meltzer stuff
He pointed out that Eugene and Festus had super short shelf lives. Eugene was basically done being effectively over within 6-12 months. Also Bayley's not "childlike" in that sense. Dave is saying she has a "big sister" connection with younger fans that won't be the same when she's in her mid-30's.
-
Dave Meltzer stuff
Right, but his point is that WWE is wasting her potential by not calling her up yet. She could be a huge star with little girls because of her "big sister" quality. Once she evolves past that, the opportunity will be over.

Between the Sheets #47 (June 7-13, 1997)
Love the shows, but the irony of calling out Mankind and Lawler's tired material on a show with guard rail, head bangers, and the return of redacted.
