1983 Project General Chatter Thread
Open to discussion about adding a few international stars each month to the new guys draft. Or have it be its own draft.

The Wade Smeltzer Flaming Spectator Newsletter Issue #2
Yeah, maybe Wade doesn't get WWA TV yet.

OK, I think I figured out a solution for the territory takeover crisis

Cool, thanks. I'll start a new thread for this with clear rules and eligible wrestlers in Game Station once the Portland draft ends.

Will, you forgot Wahoo's Leg. Gotta do it again. I know it's random, but maybe this time the board of directors won't end up on the bottom for the 2nd straight draft.

NWA Board of Directors
From the desk of Jim Crockett's Secretary: To Mr. Vince McMahon, Mr. Crockett is on his way to Toronto to view MLW's big USA/Canada Cup card, but he left me instructions to tell you that he's fully behind you on this juncture and that he'd like you to take the lead on this investigation. You may deputize Mr. Gagne at your disposal.

Bock had a good relationship with Smeltzer, right?

Wanted Eagles from the start because he can play two roles that work well with other guys we have. Not going to push him at the moment because no need to. But he's not going to be pure jobber material, so don't worry if I gave you that impression. We know who we've got in him.

Shouldn't have dropped so far then. He'll start out at Joe Lightfoot level at least.

Someone should have leaked to Smeltzer that WWA is merging it's World belt with NWA very shortly. More to come.

Probably should get Bobby Bass in for some dates.

Trade deals
Crockett is just amused and would never purposefully put down the star power of Rotten Ron Starr. But he seems to be missing from the current NWA encyclopedia. Carry on.

If you don't have a Wikipedia page, you aren't eligible for big title shots.

Bockwinkel and Bret did battle in Stampede around this time right? Or a little before?

I hope you do pick him because if he falls to MACW he'll probably be used as a jobber. Why would you want to use Rotten Ron Starr as a jobber? He's solid midcard. Could have a good feud with Scott Casey. Not who I thought you were talking about, but I'll update to say he'd be used as a JTTS.

Guys Eligible In August 1983
Once the Portland draft is over, can we begin this? Random draft order done by Will or someone else not running a N.A. territory. Available are Johnny Valiant Steve Muslin (Travis) John Tolos Kurt Von Hess Thunderbolt Patterson Bull Brannigan Dusty Woods Mark Savage When your turn to draft is up, you can choose to use your pick on one of these guys are save it for another month. If you use your pick, you go to the back of the line. Then so on and so on. If we reach the end of the drafting order and there are guys still left, I suppose we can snake back through the people at the end who've drafted and give them the option to draft more guys, with the caveat of losing a spot in the next month's draft pending how many guys they grab. September's draft would begin with guys who passed their August pick on and that would continue for October, November, etc... I think guys SHOULDN'T have to be drafted and that they just stay in the pot for next month in case anyone changes their minds.

WWE cut all ties with Hulk Hogan
He said inappropriate things, but I still have a problem with someone's private conversation being used to paint them as a horrible person.

World Wrestling Association results thread 1983
Great card being built. Smart to use famous feuds from outside WWA while you build up your new core group of stars. Zbyszko stands out as being a big name at this time to build things around. That match coming up against Rotundo would either be really great or really bad depending on how his stalling works with Rotundo's no-nonsense technical style. Of course Snuka is such a huge name to have at this point too. The seeds are set for a WWA rise over the next year with such promising workers. Smart mix of classic names and guys in their prime.
