Good matches "ruined" by their endings
Which seemed more unlikely at the time? I can remember Benoit winning was basically leaked in late 03 (without Dave outright saying it). I still think people thought wwe would get cold feet before hand but they didn't. Of course Bryan winning was forced upon them but it still had a "see it to believe it" vibe

Oh man I can remember there being a "is Edge good looking?" debate on the internet in the late 90s

I wonder at that point if Vader was still scheduled to beat Shawn for the title at Survivor Series because in retrospect that run in made even less sense and built to nothing

I guess if you feud with Randy Orton in 2020 you end up in AEW Matt Hardy, Big Show, now Christian
-
AEW Revolution
It was kinda weird when he (Christian) came back for that one off against Orton last Spring and they pretended he was on the same level as Shawn and Flair as stars. They treated him better that little run than like the rest of his run(s) all together

AEW Revolution
I would assume wwe was going to do Edge/Christian v Reigns/USO at the March ppv which explains the all of a sudden putting Bryan in the mix with those guys again.

Christian was in the final 4 of the Rumble a little more than a month ago. Now he's in AEW. I kinda mess these jumping ship moments

Latest Observer says Vince didn't like the original lineup for Mania and now things are up in the air and a chance the whole card is blown up and there is a new direction so the speculation in this thread about Bryan could be something

Most unselfish top guy
I also think the announcers saying Cena had a "terrible year" in 2012 during Punk's reign hurt Cena even more. Yes he lost to Rock at Mania that year but he beat Brock Lesnar clean the very next month! And as mentioned main evented a ppv against a non McMcahon authority figure. Little stuff like that added to the resentment

Yes, Nexus was originally supposed to go over in that match but Cena got it changed I believe the day of the show

Legit shocked about Big Show signing. I feeling of complete surprise I deeply miss in wrestling today

WWE Elimination Chamber 2021
Rock and Backlund both had 10 years in between title reigns but they were obviously gone from the promotion for a large percentage of those years Lesnar as well

The grand and pathetic journey of the Undertaker at WrestleMania
Also with 19 Vince/Hogan was given the most tv build up and in reality was promoted as the true main event of the show which many at the time cited as the reason for the low number. Dave has said Vince matches surprisingly didn't draw well. I believe Superbrawl 99 did a better buyrate than St. Valentines Day Massacre. the Bret/Vince Mania didn't do that great either
