yeah you can say Bryan might have been in the title picture *post* mania but him winning the title at mania was def. not the plan. I'm not even sure he gets it post mania because the plan was to build to Brock v Batista at Summerslam that year. Brock was getting the title at Summerslam that year no matter who was champion (Cena, Bryan, Batista) to build to Roman the next year

well it's been confirmed by multiple sources that it was supposed to be Batista/Orton, Punk/HHH, and Bryan/Sheamus. Punk said it on Cabana's podcast and there is no reason why Punk would ever want to push a WWE narrative

I don't think wwe really worries about crowd reactions anymore but setting up the first women's Rumble as a major angle for Stephanie could cause the crowd to hijack. It's Philly. But I just can't see Vince being able to resist putting her in the match because of the heat he thinks it'll get. I think they at least do a Lawler/Cole/JBL type spot with her where she's eliminated quickly. Eerrrr.. maybe And the women's match has to be main eventing, right? They can't run both rumbles back to back. I assume men's rumble opens and women's closes

To add on to the previous discussion, if Flair had stayed the plan was for him to feud with and put over Tatanka. That was short term so don't know anything specific beyond. He was going to remain in the ic title/midcard scene going forward
