Always had a question about this match. As you mentioned Dave always talks about this match but he also mentioned talking to Bischoff about it. But Bischoff was gone at this point so I'm wondering if Dave got his timelines screwed up. He told Bischoff to watch the match on TV and not in the arena to see the difference but yeah Bischoff was out of power around this time. I'm wondering if he got it mixed up with the 99 program between the two

Remember Punk said that Vince told him "Batista and Orton will be the biggest main event in WM history" the day after the Rumble when he walked out. So at least at that point, 24 hours later, they thought they could still go with that as the main event

Remember they tried to flip the script for a few weeks and get the people to cheer Batista so I don't think it was a decision made that quickly after the Rumble. Pretty sure Dave said that when Batista was booed at Elimination Chamber against Del Rio they knew they had to change plans. He's probably the most interesting he's been in years, probably since 09 which was the last time he won it don't see how Jericho v Owens would be for the title since Dave said Owens won't be champ going into mania and I don't think Jericho is winning the title at the Feb PPV. Dave said before that Taker would not be in the title match and if they do him v Roman doesn't look like Roman is winning the title Sunday. by POE it looks like Goldberg v Lesnar will be the title match.
