HHH taking over from Vince on RAW
Has anyone devoted a larger % of their life to pro wrestling than Vince McMahon Jr? If you count travel, he does 100 hour weeks most weeks going back thirty years. If anyone can't walk away it's him.

Ric Flair (sigh)
Details? I don't recall him being a physical wreck like Flair is (at least in 2003).

Ric Flair (sigh)
Would WWE, as cold-blooded as they are, risk the PR disaster of letting a 62 year old man with torn triceps bump around in the main event of the big PPV of the year?

Dave Meltzer stuff
Then how the hell did Ultimo get in?

Dave Meltzer stuff
I doubt there's anything Ultimo has over Fujiwara with the exception of a flashier style and US exposure. Ditto Hamada. It wouldn't be so bad if Meltzer had gotten started in the late '80s/early '90s, or if he wasn't much interested in history. But since he was maybe the first guy talking about shoot-style in the US, and he was covering Hamada's UWF as it happened, I'm not sure why he's so willing to pass on those two while going out on a limb for marginal guys like Hase, Ultimo and Edge.

Is there any footage of the Yamaha Brothers (Hoshino & Yamamoto) from the US? Because there's almost none from Japan.

Rey Mysterio
So, he got ANOTHER surgery. Is this it, or just another bump in the road?

CM Punk: Greatest Promo Ever
"WWE has updated their Key Performance Indicators with the preliminary buyrate information for SummerSlam. According to the company, the preliminary buyrate is 301,000 buys, almost 50,000 below the 2010 buyrate. The estimated buyrate is 174,000 in North America and 127,000 from International markets. By comparison, the show drew 350,00 buys in 2010 and 369,000 buys in 2009." - PWSpyware

Other Matches from 1992 worth watching
Saito vs Orihara from NJ 10/23 has insane heat for D-level stars. What a feud. edit: Oh and the tag is tremendous. Maybe even more heat than Can-Ams vs Kobashi/Kikuchi.

[1992-10-21-NJPW-Super Grade Tag League] Riki Choshu & Shinya Hashimoto vs Hiroshi Hase & Kensuke Sasaki
At one point Hash whips Sasaki and gives him a back elbow. I think to myself "hey, on the AJ set, Choshu would do that after a whip by his partner". So that's what they do! Continuity! Good energy, good crowd, but a couple botches and several minutes of chinlockery keep this from greatness. Okay the chinlocks do grow on me as HaseKen use them to control things. A bit annoying that HaseKen never seemed that close to winning, but still, a good match.

And Mutoh has had lots of minor knee surgeries and never let things go to absolute hell like Kobashi did (repeatedly).

WWE to move Wrestlemania off of PPV?
It would be hilarious if they did WM on a network, because the temptation to have a bunch of screwy finishes to set up the following B-PPV would be overwhelming.

It's about profit not competition.

Vince McMahon vs. Antonio Inoki
Inoki, it's not even close. Vince is a nutjob at times and he's lost tens of millions on bad ideas, but he's fundamentally competent. Inoki hasn't been for a very, very long time.

Kobashi vs Kroffat 4/18 just aired in full on AJ Classics and is really fun, well worth including. Same DVD has Kawada vs Taue 1/15 in master VQ.

Ric Flair (sigh)
He did intros for the Red Sox.

Just curious
I'd rank them thusly: * Match reviews and wrestler discussion (Examples: Yearbook threads, HOF discussion) * Behind the scenes talk (Examples: Nash not passing a physical, plans for upcoming shows, Punk angle) * Gossipy/salacious stuff (Examples: Linda McMahon's campaign, Matt Hardy in rehab, Melina is a psycho) * Best/worst stuff (Examples: Jerry Von Kramer threads)

Matt Hardy fired by TNA after DWI arrest
Given how long Jeff's case took to work out, I doubt they'll have to pull him out.

WWE advertising The Rock's in-ring return for Survivor Series
http://www.411mania.com/siteimages/rockback_115991.png 1. Way to spoil the plot, guys. 2. If Rock isn't wrestling, then it's VERY false advertising.

[1992-04-02-AJPW-Championship Carnival] Mitsuharu Misawa vs Jumbo Tsuruta
I consider this 'solid', which is a step down from 'very good' in '91 and 'incredible' in '90. Jumbo really didn't need to be going 30 minutes at this point, and I assume that if Baba realized that this was Jumbo's last singles match (IIRC it was, maybe I'm wrong) that Misawa would have gone over.

Wrestler's You've Flip Flopped On
I don't think a rewatch of that last Jumbo/Misawa match will change your mind on it, nor would 'context' help. If anything the 'context' is a bunch of better matches
