In that scenario, Rollins REALLY needs to cash in that night. That'd save the crowd.

2015 WWE Hall of Fame
Rikishi had name value during the attitude era, was a multi time tag champ, was an IC champ, has kids on the current roster to induct him, worked for the company for years. I don't have Chris Harrington's list in front of me, but I bet he's pretty high on the most WWF matches ever list. Probably in the top 50. He was there with something like four gimmicks too. I don't get the argument against him, frankly. Except for maybe the ass thing isn't something that the company wants to promote from a corporate level.

I'm not sure my position has changed wildly.

The booking of Daniel Bryan going forward
The difference, very much, is that the traditional sheet fan has gone from a minority, to a vocal minority, to a vocal minority who can strongly influence a crowd, in part due to the product being forced to aim towards a more niche product and the big shows like the Rumble and Mania being bought up by a lot of people willing to spend cash and travel as the real diehards.

The booking of Daniel Bryan going forward
Really, what it means is that they're going to have this problem from now on until they blatantly go against what the fans want in the face of this for long enough to teach the fans, once again, that they're not in control. My gut says that they're making the monster work and Vince just doesn't get that there's no appeasement anymore. I don't know whether I want to make a "terrorists win" analogy or a Chamberlain reference. I'll just leave it for people to decide on their own.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
It's out there. I'd need to watch it again as i went through it quickly and with a lot of interruptions but my main feeling was that they really went at it, especially in the tercera, but the dynamic was a little weird with the crowd so behind Fuerza. I'm not sure if they planned for that. They didn't seem to commit on what route they'd go. There are moments where they had a lot of fun in a house-show sort of way that were great. There were moments where they did some really high end matwork and counters that were great. there were a few spirited exchanges which were great, but I don't think it all came together tonally. I'll be curious what other people think.

The answer to Cena in that case is to team him with Sting vs HHH/Show, which is a super match the casuals would go for. Sting is the god damn skeleton key this year.

With the crowd to come. tt's way better to have Bryan not in that match than to have him in the match and lose.

From what Dave's said, it's sort of like that with the talent too, with Triple H the good cop.

[1991-11-02-WCW-Pro] Barry Windham vs Arn Anderson
If anything, it might make the 92 match better if there are call backs (or, worse if they were just doing the same stuff again).

Here's the link to that match, from the 92 yearbook section. I like best how Parv just accepted what Chad said. "Oh yes, Ron Simmons came out. Of course."

Hilariously, I think Parv watched a different match. Which, I mean awesome for him, because now he has ANOTHER really good match to watch.

Advantages of watching 'live' verses Classic footage
Will had a great quote about Punk/Cena on the last super show podcast about how not knowing what will come next is the greatest feeling in pro wrestling. I am not totally on board but it can't be tossed aside.

Not much. I don't think his work as Goldust was particularly strong the first couple of years. I sort of attribute this to being so good at being a babyface that he assumed everyone he'd be working with would be just as good. The Johnson match from KOTR is worth watching as a pure character performance. My favorites are probably the Michaels matches from 96, mainly house show fancams. There's a tag with Mankind that's a lot of fun, for instance. There are the Bigelow and Vader matches, Vader being stronger than Bigelow. There's not a hell of a lot to the Vega series. Frankly, as much as people are frustrated by the Dustin turn in the last year, it's given him a lot of strong heel performances that his career was previously missing.

I love the evil plan of hiring a bunch of acclaimed indy talent and then using that talent to hire a bunch of bodybuilding stiffs. Cerebral Assassin.

Taker/Sting vs HHH/Brock would have been a money match. Maybe even Taker/Sting vs HHH/Kane, to be honest. I think that would have drawn nostalgia and casuals (and/or the people Kris Z talks to) more than something like Taker/Sting vs HHH/Rollins.

The "Confirmed Stories of Triple H Being A Total Douchebag" Thread
I think Trips got Rollins over pretty well. The storyline, as presented, was that Hunter realized he couldn't beat The Shield, no matter what he did, even after reassembling his dominant supergroup, so he ate his pride and offered one of them the world. Yes, he "won" in the end, but certainly not on his terms.

I get where S.L.L. is coming from. I mean, imagine looking away for a year or two and looking back and everyone being positive on Triple H.

The booking of Daniel Bryan going forward
Maybe a better example is Benoit's run in 04? Just ten years later. Bret in 94, Benoit in 04. Bryan in 14. I'm excited for the Timothy Thatcher title reign in 2024.
