Why aren’t they doing it on Tout?

He's already turned, he just hasn't realized it yet. It's my favorite part of a heel turn. It reminds me a lot of Angle when he first debuted.

I think you can appreciate what theyre trying to do and still be realistic and see that theres not much chance of them pulling it off.

Add to that Rusev not knowing what elated meant and now using it every week. Thats the kind of character development you dont usually see on WWE tv.

Thats right. In ECW, the good guys were willing to get their hands dirty when they needed to. Thats not the same as being heelish. Magnum TA drove a wooden shard into Tullys eye. I dont think anyone whos seen that match would call Magnum a heel.

You could dig through old DVDVRs, but theres a lot of million, billion stars ratings that may throw off the averages.

Now I really want to see a fighting league with nothing but roided-up, coked-up dudes fighting. I guess I'll have to settle for 80's WWF for now.

Totally agree with the exception of Rollins/Wyatt.

In the fifth (I think) episode they go see a wrestling show and meet Alex Riley. Is that building the one PWG runs in? Looked like it.

Andre "pinning" Hogan on The Main Event. I was nine and had been watching wrestling for about three years. During that time, Hulk didn't lose. Not like rarely. He DIDN'T LOSE. I'm from a very small town. That year we had a good basketball team at the high school. The night of the Main Event, there was a big game. Everyone in town was there. I had set the VCR at home to record the show. At some point in the evening, someone came to the game and word spread that Hogan had lost the belt. Something about twin refs and the Million Dollar Man buying the championship. It was all very confusing. When I finally got home to watch it, I was still shocked. It was the first time in my wrestling life that the Hulkster wasn't champ. I remember all of that very vividly, but have no recollection of who won the basketball game.

Career-ending injury for the Hulkster? Never happen. I mean, he did tear every muscle in his back doing that slam and he kept going. If the Undertaker breaking his neck in the 70's didn't put him out, some silly back injury's not going to do it! Besides, Andre died mere days after that slam. They'd have to get the belt off of him quick!

I don't think Rip could wrestle now. He still trains for OVW. Guy really isn't as against the "flippy" or whatever stuff. He's just big on making things matter. He encounters a lot of kids who are trying to run before they can crawl. I think most of his criticisms of the current product stem from that. Get the crowd invested in your match. Don't just throw big stuff out there for the sake of doing it. That sort of thing.

Has potential. I'll definitely check it out.

How have these two only been mentioned once? When you look at the whole package of work, influence, cultural impact, etc., I don't think anyone comes close.

The actual fighting's not that bad. The shitty effects and editing are killing this. It should have been presented more raw. Like the camera crew is given a location and they show up with Randy. And there should be camera guys in the shots. Not this edited thing where you see into a room and there's a reverse shot with no cameraman in it.

Nice that Orton wore some nice slacks for the match, though.

I'd say the R n R's were formed as a response to the Fabs' popularity. Not necessarily a rip-off.

I watch wrestling wearing slacks or khakis, dress shirt, open-collar or polo shirt, optional tie or seasonal sport coat. I am a business casual fan.

I'm fascinated by Dylan Miley. They've got something with him. There hasn't been someone with as unique a look come along in a long time.

Reporting on wrestling is like reporting on organized crime. You have to be very careful with your sources. You out someone and you may have seriously harmed their career. Reporters in all walks have to protect sources. I'd say that's very true with Meltzer.
