Ridiculous quotes from WO.com columnists
Well being an Ad Man looked like fun, right? right? Yeah, until the 60's. It's all martini lunches and whores one minute. The next thing you know, you've puked all over yourself, and Duck Phillips is making you tap with the threat of his palm-strike of death.

Maybe it's just because they know where he is now. He's in jail in Tampa.

Here is the "promo": Good charity there.

WWE quirks, linguistic and otherwise
In some ladder match a few years ago, someone got hit with the ladder and JR said, "That ladder's not made out of chocolate." I swear I heard him make that call a couple of other times. Also, it's always the STEEL steps outside the ring. They're always STEEL!

This whole "longestrunningweeklyepisodicshowontelevision" thing is getting old really fast. What the hell does that mean?

Tonight on NXT, during the Summerslam recap, I loved Josh talking about Kane's tombstone that sent the Undertaker to "his place of torment".

Summerslam
So...is Samoa Joe really regretting the whole going to TNA think by now?

My wife despises wrestling, but is oddly fascinated by Cena's jorts. She suggested that that tag match should have been a "loser wears jorts" match. Like, if Cena and Hart won, Edge and Jericho would be forced to wear them.

Wow! Vince got Bob Dylan as a spokesman? I knew he was the voice of a generation, but not of the WWE.

Well, that worked out pretty well for him in the end.

The Wade Keller Appreciation Thread
I think that if I'm being honest with myself, the stuff you mentioned that makes the business "horrible" is probably like 60% of why I'm so fascinated with wrestling. The actual in-ring and storyline stuff is great and all, but I wouldn't be so into pro wrestling if it wasn't such a strange and sleazy industry.

How can you have a PR disaster when you have no presence outside of the internet? Yeah, you have to have a public in order to have public relations.

Yeah, it was mostly, "There was a thing called Wrestlemania this weekend. Lot's of people went to it. Hulk Hogan was there. How 'bout that!" I wouldn't really call it giving the results of the show.

I do remember seeing it on Entertainment Tonight and some local news sources. I really wouldn't be surprised if it was on CNN. It got quite a bit of mainstream media coverage.

Jay Lethal as Ric Flair
Yep, Hogan gave Jay Ric Flair's HOF ring which Abyss won in a match the previous week. Jay did a Flair impression and gave the ring back to Flair. But Flair didnt take the impression in good humour so Flair and his new Horsemen beat down Jay. Which kicked started the fued. I ask again because I'm really not believing this: Did TNA start a feud based on a WWE Hall of Fame ring?

Jay Lethal as Ric Flair
So, I went and watched the clip of Lethal imitating Flair and the subsequent beatdown. Am I right that Lethal stole Flair's WWE Hall of Fame ring? If so, that's pretty bush league starting a feud based on your rival's hall of fame. Also, Abyss is terrible. I don't think this can be said enough.

Gorilla making fun of his height probably didn't help. Although that stopped around late 88 or so. Monsoon made fun of Rude's height? I always thought Rude was a pretty tall guy.

Dave Meltzer stuff
I remember that came up in the RF Bill Watts shoot although that might be a different one. They asked him something or other and then when did that happen, and Watts said "whatever year Kennedy was killed", and none of them really seemed to know when exactly that was. Bottom line is don't get your history lessons from wrestlers. Wasn't Kennedy killed the year that the Undertaker broke Hogan's neck? Like, 1974? No, wait. Kennedy died the same day as Andre. Remember, the day before Hogan had just slammed him and torn all of his back muscles. Andre died that next day after Wrestlemania III.

Ridiculous quotes from WO.com columnists
Where can I find this? http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?show...p;#entry5438353 Oh, yeah. I read that. Good stuff. Funny that I just watched Koshinaka/Yamada from the NJ 80's set. Basically a shorter version of the Kenta/Nakajima thing. Yamada goes to town on Kosh's leg, even taking off his boot for added damage. A few minutes later, Koshinaka's up and doing jumping tombstones, etc.

20 Years Ago - WON 09/19/88
The Owen's name thing is funny. It's odd hearing all these stories about disorganization in the WWF. Can you imagine them experimenting with a name now? That's one of the things I notice watching WWF and NWA stuff from the 80's. The shows have a real unorganized feel to them. Vince may have things a little too homogenous in some areas, but at least the TV presentation is nice and clean now.

God, I remember being annoyed (as a 10 yr old) that they kept running shit about the boxing match during Summerslam.
