  1. Crazy fucker probably has a vision of this culminating in Vince vs HHH at Mania
  2. Stiva replied to goodhelmet's topic in AEW
I thought Jericho’s early AEW stuff was fantastic. He did a great job as the first heel champ, showing enough of his ass during the Cody and Moxley feuds and always made sure Guevara, Santana and Ortiz got moments to shine in things like Stadium Stampede. This current JAS is way too bloated and he keeps insisting on cutting all the promos when he’s like the third best promo in the stable.

Hasn’t just about dev who has released games onto Game Pass said that it’s absolutely worth their time from a monetary and exposure POV?

Like, nothing I read in the recap from Canada would suggest that in a fortnight, you’d end up at last nights show. It’s a truly bizarre promotion but still feels pretty exciting, I suppose.

I have 3 weeks of AEW TV to catch up and I’ve been reading the recaps all along with a vague sense of complete bemusement so I can’t wait to actually watch all of this transpire
  6. Stiva replied to MoS's topic in AEW
Watching this after the fact after hearing no spoilers was pretty bastard worrying, I’ll tell you that much. Let’s hope Page takes as much time as he needs
  7. At this point, I wouldn’t be against a brand split. Anchor one show around the tag division and one show around Moxley.
  8. Not the greatest Dynamite but I’ll give them a pass considering the circumstances. Jericho vs PCO absolutely HAS to have crossed Jericho’s mind but this crusade against ROH has to take him away from the BCC so they can move elsewhere. Kind of wonder if the plan was to go BCC opposite The Elite after All Out but situations occurred. I do hope Khan can avoid the holding patterns they sometimes slip into in between the PPVs following this.
  9. I really only have time to commit to WWEs PPVs these days so I’m very happy that Extreme Rules has more of Sheamus and Gunther’s boys dishing out some beatings on each other.
  10. I thought this felt like a slight return to what I loved about AEW at its best. Super hot crowds, great moments, good matches and a fully satisfied feeling. I can see the arguments for Danielson getting the belt but I guess it’s pretty apparent that Khan sees the big money as Moxley/MJF but I do question crowning Moxley if he’s going to lose it quickly again but he does feel like the clear ace. If Saraya can work, it’s genuinely intriguing and is there much value bringing her in if she can’t? The Acclaimed winning the tag titles felt like a bigger star making moment than when Jurassic Express got the belts or even when Wardlow won the TNT title. Just a huge explosion of noise and striking when the irons hot. I assume they go opposite Butcher and Blade until FTR are ready. Also, read the Rampage spoilers and I’m all into the Darby and Sting/HOB match from the sounds of things
  11. All signs seem to point to Jeff Hardy coming back soon after yet another rehab stint so I guess that explains Matt coming back to TV. Wonder if we finally get the Hardys vs Darby/Sting match
  12. Reigns vs Logan Paul is going to be an Attitude era style, overbooked chaos that will make Backlash 2000 look sparse and I’m pretty much ready for that
  13. AEW turning the chip into a MITB rip-off could maybe be the thing that turns me away. I HATE that shit. Especially when you could just have Danielson win the belt, have MJFs crew and the BCC orbit each other and then do MJF/Danielson for the belt at Full Gear or one of the Christmas Dynamites
  14. Part of me did worry that he was jobbing out of the territory on Sunday but I’m hoping that it’s going to play into the longer feud
  15. Yeah, I really hope this is a golden opportunity to pivot towards the guys they have that are catching a bit of fire. Starks really has no complaints considering Hobbs beat him clean but I’ll put that aside if it means them heating up that feud for a rematch. Also, with the way these titles have ping-ponged around, get the strap on MJF and have him and Stoke run the show against a succession of baby faces and get back to some consistency.
  16. I don’t know how this is going to shake out but I’d imagine MJF will be walking out of Arthur Ashe with the AEW title
  17. Can tell this isn’t a work because they do Blood and Guts in the spring so makes no sense to start Punk/FTR vs Elite now
  18. It’s crazy that, lost in all of this, is MJFs total superstar making moment that, if they book it right, will give them a bonafide top guy. I wonder how much of it all was Tony and how much was MJF. If it was the latter, let Max book his own shit because it was clearly the hottest and most well done thing on the show, besides the tag title match
  19. And to make matters worse, they put Jericho over Danielson
  20. PPV as a whole felt like the flattest AEW show since that one where they almost killed Matt Hardy and that one had the excuse of being a COVID lockdown show. The whole booking direction feels like Khan is completely burned out and if his response to that is to lay on the work/shoot bullshit thicker than ever, then no thanks. I’m good, especially with MJF coming back who literally cannot cut a promo without slipping in “shoot” comments. If these are a potential work, Punk is a good enough worker to get himself over as a heel without this shit and if it’s all shoot, this company is a total shitshow behind the scenes and that’s not something I’m interested in because the shows are beginning to suffer in a big way. To have a Chicago AEW crowd be so quiet for vast portions of the show is maybe a sign that something isn’t working. I’m not big on the Bucks, Page and Omega but at least they’re all on the same page and their shit is coherent. Everything else in this company is making me hugely frustrated and confused. Says something when WWE can lose VINCE MCMAHON and all the craziness that entails and CATC was way more logical and coherent than All Out. If you’d said that 6 months ago, you’d be laughed out the room
  21. It’s been a pretty underwhelming and confusing build but I have a good feeling about this show. I think there’s going to be a ton of good moments for a lot of the roster with a hot crowd. Even the Zero Hour looks like the worlds best episode of Rampage
  22. Fury sang American Pie after his last fight at Wembley and it was a bit of a thing for a week or so. This does feel like a post-show promo that is being aired wrongly though
  23. Damn good show to jump back in with. It was great to watch a WWE show where it felt there was a genuine plan and direction for people that weren’t called Roman Reigns. I’m still not watching 3 hours of Raw though
  24. The fakeout Theory cash-in spot with Tyson Fury was fucking fantastic.
  25. There was a real lull in the middle but this started well and is now starting to pick up a bit. Gunther and Sheamus did the heavyweight slugfest better earlier in the night though, just with less finisher kick outs
