Talent fired by WCW in 1995
Vince did send that nasty letter to Turner warning him of the "barbaric self-mutilation" that was taking place on WCW PPVs.

WWE Network... It's Here
It's probably you and me and no one else around here that have those memories of Global, with the Cartel and the Dark Patriot and being pissed off at the MLB expansion draft preempting it. I was much younger but I remember watching it after school. My dad would tape the UWF shows on SportsChannel for me, too.

WWE Network... It's Here
Nothing personal against you, doc, but I honestly despise bullshit sentiments like this whenever I see them on message boards. The whole, "oh, I'm above all of this, and why are you getting worked up when there are more important things to worry about?" attitude just smacks of false piety to me. Of course, world affairs, personal problems, etc. are "more important" - but we're on a wrestling forum, so it's perfectly fine to get angry about wrestling here. Back in the day I used to get so wound up on things like Earthquake taking out the wrestlers I liked or Triple H burying someones career or at least trying to in a match but I guess the novelty just wore off once I left my 20s. I still get a chuckle out of Triple H exorcising his insecurities every week on TV.

That's awesome, Johnny! My three-year old watched tonight's Smackdown! with me (poor kid). During the casket match he kept pointing at Kane and saying "He's big like you, Daddy." I'm nowhere near as big as Kane lol.

Current WWE
I really think they're just going to troll the fans with Reigns vs. Curtis Axel. "We here at the WWE don't like being told what to do."

No, Arnold inducted Sammartino.

Royal Rumble 2015 Thread
I guess I'll have to check out that pre-show match later. I was waiting for the live sow. No predictions for me, I'm just hoping for a really fun show.

What themes did 24/7 change?
"Voodoo Chile" usually gets replaced by the generic NWO theme. There's quite a few WCW Muzak themes from the late 90s that have been dubbed over for some reason.

Is it really true that Sid had Mania main event written into his contract? Ive heard rumours about this for years and always wondered. No wonder they were screwed and couldnt do Flair/Hogan by changing it. I know Hulk wanted to do films and stuff but it just seems odd to write a main event into someones contract. MVP is pretty good on Impact. Much better than the typical "Let me tell ya something" typical wrestler promos. Is it really true that Sid had Mania main event written into his contract? Best Royal Rumble of all time?
What I really liked in that match was that guys didn't stop covering their opponent just because someone tried to break up the pin.

WWE Network... It's Here
I'd love to know what it's from. It almost has a deposition feel to it, but going by the location he seems to be in I doubt it. I'm wondering the same thing. I watched the Monday Night War episode about Vince Russo. I love, love, love that he allowed himself to be interviewed for a show devoted to burying him. And I get a real kick out of them complaining about too many title changes, titles being devalued, and the lack of new stars being pushed in WCW.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
Despite WWE's declining ratings this promotion still thinks the right approach is to copy the same formula of announcing nothing and just hoping viewers invest two hours a week to maybe be impressed by something?

My guess was business was down and the roster was depleted so they had to put something out there?

During the Monday Night Wars you could notice that WCW wrestlers talked to the hard camera but WWF wrestlers talked to each other or paced around the ring during solo promos. I never really noticed until the last few years that the wrestlers completely ignore the crowd and play to the hard camera now.

To fuck around with McMahon. I don't remember the reason, but Andre wasn't happy with Vince for some reason, so he choose to appear in WCW. Yeah, this was it, wasn't it? He wasn't happy with his WWF money and saw a chance to thumb Vince in the eye. I think Meltzer just talked about on one of the audio shows in the last month

NXT Revolution... live as it happens
I loved this show. It felt like a Clash of the Champions with WWE production values. I just love professional wrestling, not "weekly episodic action-adventure programming that attempts to appeal to a mass audience demographic." Simple angles with the in-ring product as the focus. Does WWE really believe people pay money to watch promos and skits?

WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders, & Chairs
I'll be watching, largely because I'm enjoying a pretty quiet weekend and I'm already paying for the Network. It should be fun and I'm sure I'll get plenty frustrated at something. Even if I can't stand the booking I still enjoy the matches.

I thought the random (and messy) Lanny Poffo blade job was pretty unexpected, too. I guess it was done to get Andre over as a killer monster? He even did a stretcher job for it. And, yeah, once I realized that they taped that SNME weeks before WM I was pretty shocked that they ducked in and out of MI like that when these days they'll spend up to two weeks in the same city for major cards.

I was at the one following Super Brawl 2000 with the goddamn Harris brothers interfering in almost every match.

What was happening in wrestling when you first started dating?
I started dating during the "Attitude Era". Only once did I suggest the girl I was seeing watch "Raw". It was spring of 1999 and WCW was god awful and there was no way I was going to try to convince a girl to check out ECW. She didn't care and it didn't work out. It took me another twelve years to find a girl who actually enjoyed wrestling.

New TNA Home
TNA will likely react by trying to lock talent down to even more prohibitive "exclusive" contracts.
