The Wade Keller Appreciation Thread
Wade has his other columnists cover ROH and NJPW but it's rare. Almost everything on the site, in the newsletter, and in the audio is dissecting Raw every week. He pays much more attention to TNA lately than any other non-WWE product.

Dave Meltzer stuff
Do they become members-only once they're archived? Because I'm looking at the site now, and there's only one show with the "FREE" tag that's been posted in the four days since I asked the question. I think it's only free to listen to the Sirius show live. Afterward it's a members-only audio with all the commercials cut out.

The Wade Keller Appreciation Thread
Wade is clearly in over his head regarding anything but current WWE. When he was trying to explain why Shinsuke Nakamura was a big singing by WWE he couldn't articulate why. When his guests talk about anything but current WWE he responds with "Yeah...yeah...absolutely...so back to Shane McMahon on 'Raw.'" Wade is good at some things but has to realize his audience wants more than just recaps of what happened Monday night.

Bad Promo, Great Charisma
Agreed. Rock came across as a juvenile bully. He portrays himself as "Mr. Nice Guy" on social media and his fans eat it up. Then he returns to WWE and it's right back in the role of high school QB dick. I never understood the appeal of the character.

The Wade Keller Appreciation Thread
I get Dave's stuff (and Wade's, too) via Podcast Addict every day without any problems.

American Journal / Chuck Austin
I'd been looking for this for years. I figure the match never aired but it was a regular topic in the Apter mags back when it happened and I wanted to see just what the hell happened. Dave said recently that WWE foots the bill for any in-ring injury. Is that a recent development or did the Chuck Austin incident prompt them to be careful? Does that cover just contract talent or is it anyone who gets paid to step in the ring?

Dave Meltzer stuff
I hate when Dave starts off a podcast by saying there's "a ton of news" and follows it up with 25 minutes of talk about how monumental Sage Northcutt's first loss is.

Smackdown 01-08 Did You Get It?
Always had Smackdown here in Sacramento. We also never got Shotgun Saturday Night.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
According to Dave they actually pay their talent a lot more than NXT.

Wrestling's Scummiest Moment Ever?
Yes, it happened.

Wrestling's Scummiest Moment Ever?
Someone tipped off the authorities and that's why Black axed the snake stunt.

1991 Face Greg Valentine vs Rhythm & Blues Greg Valentine
Nord was awesome in that match. And he was the only thing awesome about that match. That match took place in Sacramento, at the then-Arco Arena (soon to be replaced this year). I recognized it because there were no championship banners.

The Rock hosts SNL in 2000
From what I can tell, he didn't take any time off at all. IMDB claims the shooting schedule was from May to September in 2000, and Cagematch lists match-by-match how Rock worked a full-time schedule throughout that whole period. He must've flown in on some of his days off to film his scenes (which, admittedly, weren't very much in that movie). He supposedly spent so little time on set that he never even met Brendan Fraser during production. Compare this to his time spent shooting The Scorpion King, where he took off most of the time between Wrestlemania and Summerslam in 2001. Rock took a week off to film "Mummy Returns." It was the week they set up the iron-man match between he and Triple H that he wasn't happy about. When Rock returned Jim Ross said he was filming in Morocco and Jerry Lawler quipped "They named a country after him?" Why didn't Rock want to do the Iron man? Worked out ok in the end. He didn't want to go an hour.

Vince told Backlund he was going to have a 1 year run as champ after winning the belt in 1994...
As in Vince respected Bob you mean? I always liked the full circle nature of Bob losing the belt to Iron Sheik for a transition, then so many years later him filling that role himself. Sorry; someone Bret respected.

Deadspin article on quack NFL doctors w/ WWE connection
Guy in charge of the WWE concussion protocol, folks. *on the off chance that this wasn't about Dr. Maroon, most of the local beat writers that cover sports here say pretty much the same thing about him as well. "Concussions should heal in a month" was the same thinking that cost Dolph Ziggler a world title push, isn't it?

WWE TV 12/14-12/20
If Roman is going to wrestle Triple H at any point it should be a sixty-second squash. The last thing Roman needs is a long, plodding, self-conscious-epic Hunter match. He's already spent too much time selling for Big Show.

This. It's my absolute favorite, too.

Animated GIF thread
No matter how good of shape he might have been in or how good his promos were I just couldn't buy Bully Ray as a main-eventer.

What WAS the biggest WCW PPV each year in the Bischoff reign?
Clearly SuperBrawl was the premier WCW PPV card. It's the only one they assigned Roman numerals to.

Anybody watching ROH PPV?
Maybe I need to watch more but the ROH I've seen has had some good (not great) wrestling and too many elements of the worst WWE camp.

Vince told Backlund he was going to have a 1 year run as champ after winning the belt in 1994...
This week on one of the mailbag segments of Dave's podcast he talked about this. He said Backlund was used to transition from Bret to Diesel because wanted to drop the title to someone he respected. So, whatever Vince may have told Bob it would appear his plan all along was the three-day reign.

TLC 2015
Did WWE just troll the ECW/Attitude-era marks? If so that was the best match finish of the year.
