DVD #24

11/22/86 (aired 11/22/86)

Tiger Mask/Takashi Ishikawa vs. Stan Hansen/Ted Dibiase - JIP and only about three minutes made tape. Ishikawa played some fun cat and mouse with Hansen before succumbing to the lariat.

RWTL ceremony

Jumbo Tsuruta/Genichiro Tenryu vs. Terry Gordy/Killer Khan - I enjoyed watching these four big dudes beat on each other. But really, they did nothing structurally to create any memorable moments or sense of where the match was going. Disappointing in the end.

Riki Choshu/Yoshiaki Yatsu vs. Super Strong Machine/Ashura Hara - This had a swift, neat finish. Yatsu had been taking punishment but steered Hara to his corner where he got him in suplex position. Choshu tagged and came in with a knee off the top. He then finished the staggered Hara with a lariat. That sequence and Hara's short, lefty clotheslines were my favorite parts of the match. I thought we'd get more nastiness out of this group. Overall, this failed to transcend the vast middle class of tags.

Funks vs. Martel/Zenk - Reviewed on Classics.

Baba/Tiger Mask vs. Jumbo/Tenryu - Reviewed on Classics.

Hansen/Dibiase vs. Choshu/Yatsu - Despite a few fierce exchanges between Choshu and Hansen, this never built into much of a match. The Hansen/Dibiase attack on Yatsu lacked imagination, and it ended in double countout after only 10 minutes.
